Hehe, I really don't which of these I am gonna vote, since they're all awesome. :)

Straightened and thickened the cannons on the right. Sadly, by straightening the cannons it loses some of the movement in the pose but it adds to the realism of the sprite. I also shortened the upper arm and added some flare to the holes. Should I thicken them more or leave it? Also, fire will be added into the second pose if I can get round to it. Animation will have to be done by someone else though.

There's some good sprites in this thread, KoA's has a nice dynamic pose and thickening everything adds to the bulkiness. I don't like the position of the head though, feels unnatural. I'd like to see this coloured. ^^ TBIM's is also a very good for a first shot but like many others it has fallen into the trap of dark colours.
 
Amazing work everyone. Seriously, you should all be given a round of applause for what you've done so far.

My three favorites have got to be Atyroki, Nopie, and Wyverii. These users are incredible spriters and should be recognized as such. If i had to pick one out of the three, my vote would go to Nopie's, which has improved tremendously from the first set of submissions. I'm also intrigued to see how KoA's finished sprite v.2 will look, but until I see it I'll hold off on giving my opinion.

God i wish i was artistic... xD

Bulked up the arm a bit and added shiny for fun. I tried re-doing the tail but it's rather difficult to make it look any more natural in that pose. I probably won't try to add fire again since it causes too many overlaps on an already complicated design.

To artic:
The lower body and head seem very two dimensional, even for a sketch and it's difficult to tell a light source with the gradient-like shading. The best part is the arms but since it looks as if the jets behind would propel him forward he looks unbalanced standing straight up.

Advice? Try a more dynamic pose if you can manage.

I think you should add a little bit more flames to the guy, and maybe make the flames blue on the shiny version. The shiny Leonin brings back memories. The days where Rugrats was the shit, ahh, Reptar! = D

You also have my vote once the polls start out, this is great, everyone's is great, but yours just leaves a warm spot in my heart =D
 
Wiveri, very good.... KoA will need to make a verey good sprite if he wants to beat you...

I say thicken it a bit more but otherwise very good.


I'm going to have to work very hard to be competitive with this one at all.
 
It seems a little weird that the hole on the end of the arm further back is slanted that way. It just doesn't seem right... Other than that, it's great!

Arms thickened again, left arm worked on in terms of positioning. Shiny done again for kicks. I think that thickening it more now would start detracting from the balance of the sprite so i'm happy with it now. I think I should start working on a back sprite or the second pose.

It's nice to see people starting to push themselves in the spirit of competition. We'll be seeing a lot of high quality sprites soon enough.
 
Hmm, does it really need a female version? After all a good portion of Pokemon sprites don't have a variation between the two. Also, Syclant has a second pose and animation but i'd consider doing that secondary to the back pose.
 
Man, Wyverii. That is ridiculously cool. I'll probably end up voting for yours.
 
Wyverii, can you do a shiny version use the colours from Atyroki's shiny, please? Because your pose is now my favourite, but I prefer Aty's coloration, so I want to see what a mix is like.

Nice.I now officially hate this thread ,they are so many good choices.It is going to be hell selecting a sprite and KOA and paring sprites aren't done yet.I am happy about the future of this project

Very basic back pose, I think the hair needs fluffed out but i'm not sure about everything else. Is this the way it should be taken or should I scrap all or part of this pose? Take note that the colouring isn't finished and the wood pattern will be added later.

I think the head looks great, but there's something funny about the body itself, maybe because in proportions I expected the torso armor to be larger. Keep up the good work, though. I loved your front sprite. Parnig's is great as well, and I still want to see super-motivated KoA's spritework.

I think it's very interesting to see how other people deal with my design, and so far the work here has been incredible. Eagerly awaiting the vote.
 
Wyverii, the back pose is perfect in my eyes though I agree with Elagune on the chest plate being a tad smaller than what the picture show. All you need to do is finishs that sucker and fix that little problem.

I actually lose count on how many sprite submissions we have in this thread alone.

Tried a fix and did some hair shading, unless there are any more concerns on the wooden parts and such i'll finish up the shading tomorrow.

Best colour scheme, by far, and the best head, too. I'm not totally happy with the arms (the back part of the cannon armor is a bit too long, in my opinion). The pose is also quite good.

The chest on the back sprite should extend further down a bit, in my opinion.


The new sprite KoA's doing is looking very good also so far, and Nopie's back sprite is just PERFECT, in my opinion.
