The Japanese version isn't even officially confirmed yet.
I really hope this game actually do have the three new forms and the Battle Island, it'll make it so much more interesting after defeating the Elite Four. The Battle Tower itself was boring imo.
From the first link:

That's true...well at least there would be a testing period for it. It would definitely be cool to just have a top tier OU inserted into the metagame out of nowhere.
However I'm skeptical about all of this, I could see the new Giranta form having levitate but...Regi never really seemed like a levitate kind of dude.

Also funnily enough, the number of Pokemon from each gen banned from the D/P Battle tower follow the fibonacci sequence.
Two from RB (Mew, Mewtwo)
Three from GSC (Ho-oh, Celebi, Lugia)
Five From RSE (Kyogre, Groudon, Jirachi, Rayquaza and Deoxys)
Eight from D/P (Palkia, Dialga, Regigigas, Shaymin, Phione, Manaphy, Deoxys, Arceus)
Next should be... thirteen lol o.O

According to my watch, it's about time we get a new game injected into the main series of Pokemon. However, I would assume that we would have heard about a D/P remake prior to four months before it's release. I also would imagine that a Johto remake would be done first, given all the visable (and hidden) clues in D/P, and the fact that they both happen on the same timeline.
But lets assume that a Johto remake is out of the question. It's going to take a lot for people to buy a new game that's basically a clone of the previous games released (sans hardcore fans with Pokemon themed bedrooms). Little things like Volkner not being gym leader anymore is not a reason to pay $40. This thing sounds like a joke due to it sounding so similar to Emerald to R/S. 8th Gym Leader assumingly goes to Elite Four. Battle Island. New Pokemon form.
But then, whoever would take control of the Sunnyshore Gym if Volkner did leave? Surely not Jasmine, as though she did show a love for Magnemite's in G/S/C, her true love is Steel types. Yet we already have a Steel type Gym in Canalave City.
I'm tired of Sinnoh, and I'm sure many others are. It seems like bad marketing to not release some sort of remake of a previous region, because not only would the remake earn big bucks, but it would also make a D/P sequel so much more refreashing.
And the new Pokemon forms. Giratina I can imagine flying around from dimension to dimension. But levitating Regigigas? "Evil" Shaymin? Out of the question. Regigias is really heavy iirc, and it's hard for me to believe the miracle Pokemon of Floaroma has an evil form.

It seems there is already a scan which confirms the name, Pokémon Platinum. The protagonist is wearing other clothes too appearantly. Other then that, it's poor quality.

Yes, but the majority of the Pokemon fanbase is not a member of Smogon, or any Pokemon site for that matter. They'd buy a Mario/Zelda game over a remake to something similar to what they just played yesterday (D/P).
Edit: To the scan above, is that the D/P dude wearing.. blue? If that page is indeed real (and I guess it would be, it seems hard to fake), then I wonder what else they have planned for the game. Where are Dialga and Palkia, and what do Team Galactic want? Is Saturn the new boss? Did Team Rocket invade Sinnoh (doubtful)? New clothes are nice, a new Giratina is nicer, but GameFreak is smarter then that. I'd assume random Wi-Fi battles are included, as that would be the savior of the game.
Looks like the hero is wearing blue (just like green in Emerald as in different).. and Giratina appearing as a shadow like Darkrai (movie).. makes the battle more interesting.. hopefully it's true not fake. Oh and that shadow appears to be the "origin form".. well it'd make sense if we'd fight in his origin form in his "game".
