Fire Emblem Tactics Online

stat points aren't nearly as important as growth rates. Where 2 points covers an obvious weakness at the start of the game, 20 misplaced growth rate points will show a spread of 8 points in the wrong direction at the end of the character's growth (.2*40)

(This assumes you can go up to 20, then promote, then 20 again. If you can go higher than this, then it's even more important to have your stat growth points in the right spot and less important that you put those two points in res instead of defense.)

You can go to 20/20 (the first promoted unit appeared today), and I surely hope people keep playing until that point!

I'm considering restarting despite having super high levels. But then again, I don't care :that: much.

the wyvern rider's only weakness is that he's got 1 res and no res growth, making him a target for magic users. Since he flies though, you can keep him away from the bookworms.

Selana (monk) could benifit from some more defense growth, as most of the attacks in the game are physical.

And Vhemp (dark knight) strongly resembles your wyvern rider in terms of res.

It looks like you're playing your FE team like I play my pokemon team. "Hit them hard so you don't need to worry about defense"

I might restart if only to make my lord like an Adept or something. My lord is currently a Pegasus Knight, I believe.

feto.feplanet.com isn't responding right now, but I'll take a look when it starts to cooperate again, Juuka.

Marker, what's wrong with a peg knight? As long as you compensate for the low defense by putting points in it and the bow weakness by staying the heck away from bow users until you pluck 'em off, you should be fine.

My lord is a pegasus archer and I'm doing well enough with it.

When the site gets back up, does anyone wanna give me a level up battle? All my units are lvl. 1.

Alternatively, you could just battle me regularly with lvl 1's :D

Tangerine, are one or two stat points really gonna hurt that bad in the late game that we should restart now while we're not too high? (this is a legitimate question, not sarcastic)

The thing is if you have growth rates like 50% and such (divisible by 5) then you're going to be wasting a point in that stat (because you could be using 52% to get the last point) etc.

So you're wasting a point in nearly every stat you have, and more if you go over the cap (I see a lot of people with like 65% growths, if you have that with over 7 base you WILL cap out and lose points etc)

is that to say the % chance of stat points going up is not random, but rather goes up that percent of a point at each level up?

If so, when does it round up? 0.50? 0.51?

It doesn't round.

Basically it just "adds" that percentage each level

So at level 1 I'd have 6(6.5) (0-1 Bonus), and at level 2 I will have 7 as my stat, next level I wont gain anything, next level I will gain my stat, etc

Pretty much I screwed over my lord's stat (although not as badly as MrE) mostly because I thought this was like FE where we pray to the RNG gods to level

Yeah, I thought it was RNG god begging too.

If it doesn't round, where are you getting 52% from? wouldn't 50% get a point every other level just like 52 would? 40 levels with that 2% will only get you 80% of a point, so wouldn't that be wasted?

there are 39 levels, not 40.

you go from 0-20, and 1-20

okay, 39*2%=78%, which is still less than a point.

Maybe I'm getting the concept of levelling wrong. Why is 52% better than 50%?

Maybe I'm getting the concept of levelling wrong. Why is 52% better than 50%?

Because

.5 * 39 = 19.5

.52 * 39 = 20.28

By adding the 2% there you will get one more stat in the end.

that makes sense. Perhaps I'll come up with a chart of effective percents to use when building a team.

If levelling up works as explained by tangerine, the following is a list of functional percents required to get the following amount of points in a stat. Mind your caps when placing percents, however, as wasted points don't come back if you go past your cap.

38 - 98%
37 - 95%
36 - 93%
35 - 90%
34 - 88%
33 - 85%
32 - 83%
31 - 80%
30 - 77%
29 - 75%
28 - 72%
27 - 70%
26 - 67%
25 - 65%
24 - 62%
23 - 59%
22 - 57%
21 - 54%
20 - 52%
19 - 49%
18 - 47%
17 - 44%
16 - 42%
15 - 39%
14 - 36%
13 - 34%
12 - 31%
11 - 29%
10 - 26%
9 - 24%
8 - 21%
7 - 18%
6 - 16%
5 - 13%
4 - 11%
3 - 8%

Edit: that was faster than expected.

Ok so basically if any of your growth percents are divisible by 5 you should restart?

Hmm well it wouldn't be too bad and I can make my Lord an adept this time...
