First DP team

I've only been playing for less than a week but I've had quite a number of wins with this team which I have found surprising.
I haven't played DP before properly because I never really got sucked into the games as with previous generations so I may need a little help even with the sets lifted off Smogon.

Donphan, Impish, w/ Leftovers
252 HP/6 Att/252 Def
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Shard
- Rapid Spin
I have never used Rapid Spin and I'm tempted to take Rock Slide or something similar. He has actually worked really well as a starter for me. He gets stopped by Gyarados but switching to Dusknoir normally solves this.

Electivire, Adamant, w/Expert Belt
6 HP/252 Att/252 Sp Def
- Cross Chop
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Thunderbolt
He has been absolutely useless. I need a physical sweeper but he's been pathetic.

Dusknoir, Careful, w/Leftovers
252 HP/76 Def/180 Sp Def
- Will O Wisp
- Thunder Punch
- Fire Punch
- Pain Split
This guy rocks. He absorbs things really well and solves the problem of physical attackers pretty well for my team.

Togekiss, Calm, w/ Leftovers
252 HP/64 Speed/192 Sp Att
- Air Slash
- Roost
- Baton Pass
- Nasty Plot
I had to laugh today when he swept a team but as a baton passer he's been useless since the only special user is Heatran. Seeing as Air Slash has gotten me out of a couple of tight spots, I might use a different set.

Heatran, Modest, w/ Choice Specs
40 HP/252 Sp Att/252 Sp Att
- Dragon Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Explosion
- Earth Power
Excellent sweeper although the Earthquake weakness is pretty bad. It does allow me to switch in Togekiss, though.

Tangrowth, Impish, w/ Leftovers
252 HP/ 228 Def/28 Sp Def
- Knock Off
- Leech Seed
- Sleep Powder
- Power Whip
I love this set and it can wreak havoc with a team. Tangrowth is too cool.

Anyway, someone will probably rip this apart. I've had a large problem with Gengar but I'm sure there are worse threats that I've yet to encounter.
Heracross pretty much tore through it as well.

Donphan's good, stick with Rapid Spin! You'll need it to blow away Spikes (Which rape Heatran)

Electivire needs desperate help. Of course it's done nothing, you don't have any Speed EV's!!! Electivire depends on speed. Give it some! Also, instead of Thunderbolt, give it ThunderPunch.

Dusknoir is fine.

Togekiss is fine as well.

Heatran is good. If you don't have access to Hidden Power Ice, then stick with the moveset you have.

Tangrowth is good as well. You might want to consider sticking Substitute in there, just so you have a SubSeeder on your team. It's not that big of a deal either way.

Actually, it does have ThunderPunch. I just read Thunder... and assumed it was 'Bolt.

I'm tempted to give Tangrowth Substitute over Knock Off but I'm not sure.

I'm surprised Donphan has been working as a lead, since many leads give him trouble. Tangrowth makes an ok lead, since the likes of Swampert, Gyarados and Hippowdon won't stick around against him, so you get in a early Sleep Powder quite often.

Since your team has trouble switching into opposing Heatran, I would replace Electivire with Suicune carrying Rest/Sleep Talk/Surf/Calm Mind. Gives Togekiss another good target to pass Nasty Plot to.

If Heracross is causing problems, put more Defense EVs on Dusknoir so he can switch in more easily. I recommend Switching Heatran for a Sleep Talk/Roost/HP Ice/Discharge Zapdos (Calm, plenty of HP and Special Defense EVs), for the following reasons:
- Great counter for Gengar. Absorbs Hypnosis and can cripple Gengar with Discharge paralysis.
- Your team is fairly slow, so some paralysis support (even from Discharge) would help.
- Extra coverage for Heracross (CB/CS versions anyway).
- Can handle SD Lucario reasonably well, who can cause problems otherwise.
- Another good target for a Nasty Plot pass from Togekiss.
