Dragonforce

Dragonforce is pretty good...until you listen to a second song by them. They sound decent but all of their songs are pretty much the same.
My biggest problem with Dragonforce is that they can't replicate their songs in concert. I've seen them once (my job is awesome because I get to see shows for free all the time) and I was extremely disappointed.

I like them and dislike the "all songs are the same argument." I can pretty much identify all their songs by the intro. I think you can apply the sounds to the same argument to any band you don't like because you don't pay enough attention to distinguish them beyond which band they are. I could easily use that as my entire criticism against the entire genre of rap, but that's not fair because I don't care enough to learn the nuances of the songs.
Although, I don't like the fact that they sound worse live. I might see them in concert later this month.

Don't forget the part about playing that same sound in rapid succession over and over and over again. Also, the asian dude with the long hair in their band looks so creepy.
I listen to them but they aren't my favorite by any stretch.
Its fine, not the best band ever, but it definitely deserves a place on iPod playlists.
TTFAF is too old i think. Soldier of the Wasteland is so much better and Above the winter moonlight.
True, but it's the only song I've heard from them. I really haven't heard from Dragonforce since GH3 came out, really.

although even though i like them and understand the nuances a lot, the songs do sound similar. not like, its hard to tell the songs apart, but they use the same style of riffs over and over again.
but yeah, anytime they play live, they suck outright.
favorite song is prolly body breakdown, or valley of the damned.
to me, soldiers of the wasteland is to long and has too many repeated parts.
I like listening to Dragonforce. Not my favorite band, but it's up there. I might go see them in the upcoming tour with Slipknot and Disturbed.

DragonForce are incredibly corny, which is why I love them.
I get tired of them very quickly, though, so I try to limit myself to just one or two songs (usually Fury of the Storm or My Spirit Will Go On).

For a few months they were my favorite band. I'd listen to their stuff nonstop. I'm not really one to care about whether the music I'm listening to is "cheesy" or not. I rarely pay attention to lyrics to be honest.
Also this "all the songs sound the same" bullshit is completely off. If you think their songs all sound the same you really have no ear for music.
So yeah, they were my favorite band until I found Sonata Arctica :D

Dragonforce is awesome. I really liked them before I knew that they were in GH3 or that anyone else liked them for that matter. I really like the Flame of Youth. I usually listen to them while I bike or work out cause it's just so intense.
Dragonforce is definitely a unique band. No one else manages to pull off such a combination of insane solos and mediocre lyrics. That being said, Dragonforce isn't a band you just listen to to enjoy the music itself. It is much better at purely passing time. On my recent trip to Pittsburgh, I was playing through Inhuman Rampage nearly the whole trip, and I have to say it did distract me from the tedious drive. And their songs are not the same. TTFATF is not the best song of theirs, it is just one of the more popular ones. The recycled lyrics attempt to be deep and epic, and when you realize that Sam/Herman are either flipping you off or holding a bottle of beer in all of their pictures just makes them even more ironic.

They have the most "epic" feel to them and, more importantly, it is easily distinguished from the rest of their songs. Which I stress, are not the same. Even just a simple change in key or chord structure can make it sound much different.
Rating Dragonforce based off of their performance in GH3 is probably a disservice to them. I am sad to hear that their live performances are lackluster, but I can't say I would expect anything else. Half the reason I like to listen to Body Breakdown is because of the synthetic sounds in the solo sections.

I absolutely love this band, I couldn't tell you a favourite song because I haven't found one I haven't loved.
I think that the main problem people listening to their music have is that they're TAKING THEM WAY TO SERIOUSLY. If you stop and listen to them closely you will find that these songs are a parody of the gaming industry, done epicly but a parody.

Lol'd, totally agreed.The first song I ever listened to[belonging to DragonForce] was Through the Fire and the Flames(lol), then I listened to another one, and I was like =/
I once wanted[on YouTube] a promo for one of their CD's, their "hits".You know, that kind of stuff that they throw in a sample of all these songs, and call it an album?It was like listening to different sections of the same song.
dragonforce are all right in their cheesy sort of way, i mean they dont even take themselves seriously. stuff like moonsorrow owns them in epicness though.
I won't lie, this is one of the silliest things I've ever read. What you basically just said is equal to "I really like Adolf Hitler. I only know that he annexed the Sudetenland but who cares. I consider that his greatest accomplishment."
