(OU)First attempt at an offensive team...

I'm usually a defensive player, but recently my teams have been doing poorly, even though my opponents have gotten amazing amount of hax. Nevertheless, after reading Astral Projection I decided to try my own offensive team.

Team Plan

Start off with Aerodactyl, Taunting any attempts of Stealth Rock, then setting up Rocks of his own. Then attempt to get Ninjask in to set up a baton pass to a member of the team(pretty much all but Deoxys can benefit from a pass). Celebi recieves when an Electric Attack is predicted, whilst Metagross comes in on Ice, and Heatran Fire. Deoxys handles late game.

@ Focus Sash
252 Atk, Spe
Adamant
Pressure

Rock Slide
Earthquake
Taunt
Stealth Rock

Use - Aero sets up the Rocks, while Taunting slower leads hoping to Sleep/Setup. Rock Slide will 2HKO Gyarados. Earthquake deals with Lucario and Tyranitar leads. I decided to use Adamant because my team has other ways of handling Azelf and Weavile.

ninjask.png
@ Leftovers
252 Atk, Spe
Jolly
Speed Boost

Substitute
Swords Dance
X-Scissor
Baton Pass

Use - This guy can come in without fearing Stealth Rock once Aerodactyl has done his job. He can deal with Azelf, Tyranitar, Deoxys-S and Ice Shardless Weavile. Mid-Game, he switches in on the ground attacks aimed at Metagross and Heatran.

celebi.png
@Leftovers
252 HP, 220 Def, 38 Spe
Bold
Natural Cure

Grass Knot
Calm Mind
Recover
Baton Pass

I used to use a SDLO Garchomp instead of Celebi, but I decided this team would benefit much more from Celebi(Garchomp wasn't preforming as well as he does on my Defensive Teams). Passing Calm Minds to Heatran and Deoxys-S makes them extremely powerful.

metagross.png
@ Leftovers
252 HP, 232 Atk, 12 Def, 8 Spe
Adamant
Clear Body

Bullet Punch
Meteor Mash
Thunder Punch
Earthquake

Use - Eight Speed allows him to outspeed Standard Magnetzone. I used Bullet Punch over Ice Punch because I wouldn't want to risk being OHKO'd by Specsmence or CBChomp. Meteor Mash also allows me to OHKO Tyranitar.

heatran.png
@ Leftovers
252 SpA, Spe
Modest
Flash Fire

Lava Plume
Earth Power
Hidden Power (Ice)
Substitute

Use - A Heatran behind a Substitute is hell for an opponent to take down. He is great for absorbing Fire Attacks and Wil-o-Wisp. With prediction he also comes in on Choice Heracross Megahorn.

deoxyse.png
@ Life Orb
252 SpA, Spe
Naive
Pressure

Psychic
Superpower
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt

Use - Max Speed lets him outrun other Deoxys-S and hit them hard with Shadow Ball. When I predict Choice Heracross using Close Combat I bring this beasty in. Added in Superpower to handle Mamoswine, Weavile and Tyranitar, whom threaten my team. Opposing Deoxys-S can be taken care of with Ninjask and Metagross.

Sorry if it is somewhat similar to Husk's team and you find it uncreative...

Please give feedback and suggestions! I could also use a Threat List(sorry I didn't make one X_X).

Heatran is still walled by Vaporeon, Milotic, Blissey, etc, behind a Substitute. Toxic seems like an good option, as it hit them all and will eventually wear them down.

Psychic and Shadow Ball doesn't really provide any useful coverage, and personally I would rather run HP Fire then Psychic to hit Scizor, Bronzong and Metagross hard. However, Naive/Hasty nature with Superpower is a generally better option, as it will prevent Blissey and Tyranitar from walling you.

Heatran isn't going to wall everything =/

Milotic can't hit me with Hypnosis when I'm behind a Substitute, so she wont try, allowing me a free switch to Metagross, who forces Milotic and Vaporeon out. Toxic isn't worth losing Type Coverage.

Nothing but Calm Mind Blissey will be doing anything to Heatran either, and my Metagross and Garchomp(barring Ice Beam) handle Blissey with ease.

Shadow Ball and Max Speed stop any opposing Deoxys-S cold, and Psychic handles Heracross, who can be a pain for my team when played correctly. I already have means of handling Weavile, Tyranitar and Blissey anyways.

Why should Milotic even try to Hypnosis you when it can OHKO with Surf? You aren't really accomplishing anything behind a Sub seeing how some of your most common counters still will counter you, that's my point. Toxic was a suggesting who's basically used to get rid of them. And Blissey can easily SToss you to death. It's not like the sub is unbreakable, nor can you do anything in return, really.

As long as Blissey, or Vappy/Milotic for that matter, don't stay in to take a hit from either Garchomp or Metagross, they're all perfectly capable of walling your Heatran.

Having that said, I don't see how Heracross is a bigger threat to your team then a Tyranitar. Heracross always run Choice (like 99.9% of them), while Tyranitar is really unpredictable, and is perfectly capable of OHKO everything on your team after a DD. Ninjask actually does a good job as a Heracross counter, and resist both of its STAB moves by 0.25. Heracross also takes a lot from either Thunderbolt or Ice Beam.

But overall it seems like a solid team. Good job.

Milotic can't hit me with Hypnosis when I'm behind a Substitute, so she wont try, allowing me a free switch to Metagross, who forces Milotic and Vaporeon out. Toxic isn't worth losing Type Coverage.
I don't think it is a free switch for metagross because milotic would normally use surf rather than hypnosis on heatran. Thunder punch from metagross can't 2hko standard milotic and vaporeon. Milotic can outspeed and 3hko with surf and vaporeon can just wish pass away.

In addition to watching out for bulky waters, the infamous ice/ground combo may give you some trouble as you have no safe switch in. Mamoswine can ohko most of your pokemon except aerodactyl and deoxys but neither of them can finish mamoswine off before it finishes them (remember mamoswine is always faster than heatran unless heatran's scarfed).

Good, Solid team. Althought Mamoswine would come and ruin the fun for 3 of your pokemon all with one move, Ice Shard.

If ninjask dies, Metagross will be very slow and prey to EQ's from Mamo. Garchomp will get Ice Sharded and along with Ninjask and most possibly Aerodactyl. Also, Bulky Gyarados can come in, intimidate Garchomp, fire back with Ice Fang while resisting 2 out its 3 attacks.

I guess all Im trying to say is dont rely on Ninjask so much to pass speed and The Unofficial Uber in OU to cover the holes. Im not saying it isnt good, its a great team... but I saw the Ice/Ground weakness and the first thing I thought was "Mamoswine" lol.

Just thought I'd give you my insight on what I saw

Good luck :D

Thanks guys, I decided to put in Superpower over Shadow Ball(Deoxys-S) to help with Mamoswine, Tyranitar and Weavile.

Thanks for the good feedback, any other suggestions?

Uhm. saying that one of your pokemon is this -

SCIZOR.png

moves:sand storm, iron head, x scissor, metal claw
stats:atk 315, def 236, sp atk 139 sp def 195 spd 177 hp 305

And you don't EV Train your pokes, I don't think so <_<

Any other constructive comments?

thats MY scizor and my thread is edited

hmm. With today's teams almost everyone has a taunter. This is excacly the reason why they moved ninjask to BL. He is shut down really easily. With this being an offensive team a little slip can cost you. and ninjask being shut down actually makes that heatran and metagross can't function all too well. Also a jolly scarfchomp (yes they've gone that far now) or a jolly salac chomp will still ruin your team. Considering that aero has gone down in the early game. I would therefor replace atleast 1 of the steals by something bulky (yes I know that's not the purpose of this team but I run bulkymence myself and it works terrific). Also please note that an SD chomp really should be jolly. Adamant chomp is outsped by salamence among other things and really can't afford to be outsped by thing it'd normally KO.

Your team is solid and i like the way you make your EV spreads. The only thing i'm asking myself is why wouldn't you just use Husk's Aerodactyl set, Crunch and Stone Edge would roughly do the same damage to psychics so i would just go with Earthquake over Crunch for the added coverage.

I'm a little bit "iffy" about Ninjask. With that said i would opt for you to switch for the Baton pass Gliscor seen here:

http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/gliscor

It adds a nice wall and you can still pass boost on to your team.

Quick Speed passing with Ninjask is crucial to the team, but I agree that the team can benefit from some defense, so I've added Celebi. Also edited Aerodactyl.

Garchomp wasn't doing anything majorly useful for this team.

I like your team. Ninjask can also prove useful finishing off weakened Tyranitar's or revenge killing the likes of Alakazam and Azelf.

I'm thinking Taunt on Heatran over sub, so Milotic and Blissey don't wall it completely. Milotic comes in expecting a Lava Plume, and BOOM, its taunted.

I think a good Choic band on Metagross, seeing as you have all attack moves anyway. A choice banded Meteor Mash with some of Ninjask's speed boosted is REALLY deadly, seeing as few types resist Steel. It's also varies your team a bit, with 4/6 of your pokes having leftovers. And, a choice band Bullet punch will OKHO opposing Aeradactyl I believe, and other weakened sweepers.
