Offensive team that is 30-3

To be completely honest, i have no idea how this team got me my record, but it's done pretty well so far. Although i tend to have a lot of problems with Deoxys-E. Anyways, here's the team at a glance.

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 204 HP / 16 Atk / 176 Def / 112 Spe
- Dragon Dance
- Thunder Wave
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge

Bulky Gyarados with a bit more Speed EVs than usual. 112 instead of 100 to outspeed those smart alecks that think putting 108 Speed EVs will give them the edge against my Gyarados. He's really a big help for this team because Intimidate can make a huge difference. You might be thinking, "Dragon Dance and Thunder Wave on the same set?". Yeah, and it works. Bronzong leads run away from this lead predicting a Taunt, only to get one of their other Pokemon paralyzed in the process. Waterfall is there for the STAB, and might also get me some luck alongside Thunder Wave for the ParaFlinch combo. Stone Edge is there so that Salamence can't boss him around.

Lucario @ Life Orb
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Extremespeed
- Bullet Punch

Yeah, it's Lucario. Can't believe i haven't been using this guy until this team was made. With 2 priority moves, and Life Orb to pack some extra punch, it can really save me while i'm in a pinch late in the game. Close Combat with a base power of 120, with STAB and Life Orb, makes it a deadly move, and with Swords Dance to boost it's Attack even further, it's much deadlier. Extremespeed helps me take out Pokemon that are quicker than Lucario, and Bullet Punch instead of Crunch so i don't feel bad about setting up a Swords Dance on the switch, only to find out that Gengar will kill me the next turn.

Deoxys-E @ Life Orb
Nature: Naive
EVs: 6 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
- Ice Beam
- Psycho Boost
- Superpower
- Thunderbolt

Couldn't find a Deoxys speed sprite, so this will have to do. Deoxys speed is an amazing Pokemon. It has a good movepool, and great Speed to take advantage of it. Although it's Attack stats aren't too great, Life Orb makes up for the difference. Psycho Boost leaves a big dent in pretty much everything (except for Metagross and Bronzong). Taunt is there in place of Thunderbolt so that I can Taunt Blisseys who attempt to cripple Deoxys, knowing full-well that Superpower is unable to KO that fat blob. Ice Beam is there for type coverage, and works well because without, Celebi walls me. Superpower is for Tyranitar and friends.

Gengar @ Choice Scarf
Nature: Timid
EVs: 6 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
- Hidden Power Ice
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt

Gengar is in pretty much every team i make, because somehow, i always lack a sleep inducing move. Also, it has 3 immunities that help quite a lot, and can force some switch outs against Choice Scarf users. Often, i play around with my opponents and pretend that it holds a Choice Scarf since they see no Life Orb damage. Anyways, Hypnosis is there so i can put a Pokemon to sleep and force a switch. Shadow Ball takes care of other ghost types, and at times Celebi, depending on how much HP it has left. Focus Blast is for Tyranitar, and Thunderbolt is for the extre type coverage.

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Nature: Quiet
EVs: 252 HP / 60 Atk / 168 SpA / 28 Spe
- Substitute
- Dark Pulse
- Focus Punch
- Flamethrower

The well-known Tyraniboah. It sets up Sandstorm, and breaks walls. Strangely enough, i often use this thing as a Special wall.. with max HP and a Sp. Def boost from Sandstorm, it can take Special Attacks quite well. 252 HP EVs allow him to set up Subtitutes that are unbreakable by a single Night Shade or Seismic Toss. It's also necessary for Focus Punch. Dark Pulse is for STAB and takes care of Cresselia. Flamethrower enables me to OHKO Foretress.

Swampert @ Leftovers
Nature: Sassy
EVs: 188 HP / 180 Def / 52 SpA / 88 SpD
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Earthquake

MixPert really helps a lot, and although that's all i want to say, i know i can't do that ='( Stealth Rock helps break Focus Sash's, and 'causes a lot of damage in the long run. It also allows MixPert to OHKO Salamence with Ice Beam 100% of the time, assuming it's not bulky. Surf is there for the STAB, and helps him take care of Bronzong as long as it doesn't have Explosion. Earthquake deals damage to Tentacruel and other bulky Water types.

So, that's it. Pick at whatever you like. I'm open to suggestions as long as it's not use Blissey.

Hey ecks. 2 words: Use Blissey..... jk lol.

You really hate Blissey don't you? O.o I honestly don't think you need Taunt on Deoxys. For non T-Wave Blisseys you can easily switch in Lucario (well except Flamethrower but it can live at least one at full HP), but your real initial switch in would be your Boah, who can easily set up on Blissey not caring about T Wave.

I do see some LO Gyarados problems as well. Without Roar, Swampert is set-up fodder against Gyarados, and it only needs 1 DD to outspeed your Gengar, your Deoxys doesn't have T-Bolt and really won't be able to get the job done despite its Speed. To me your only hope is your own Gyarados, who I can see stopping LO Gyarados at times, with T Wave (which by the way is very creative), Stone Edge and Intimidate in all. What this whole thing is getting at, is give Deoxys Thunderbolt over Taunt.

Swampert, in my opinion, does ok in terms of countering Deoxys on initial switch ins. But maybe you can try a more Special Defensive based set? Maybe like this: 188 HP/180 Def/52 SAtk/88 SDef @ Sassy Nature. This is TSP's spread ecks, so go annoy him on AIM and brag that you'll be using his spread (DER). But seriously, this is a set you can at least try out.

For your Gengar, I don't have Wide Lens worth it at all, in my opinion. It only raises accuracy by 10% or 1.1. And Hypnosis would only increase accuracy to 77%, which to me is still not worth it. Same with Focus Blast. Simply add LO to Gengar for the extra power.

For your Gyarados, maybe you can try Wacan Berry to foil ScarfGar's and Deoxys' plans to outspeed and KO with Thunderbolt. Just another option.

Your T-Tar and Lucario are fine. I like how you're using Swampert in an offensive based team, as Lum Berry Metagross can really harm your Deoxys and Gengar with Pursuit or Bullet Punch or simply Meteor Mash to KO them (if your opponent will stay in predicting Pursuit).

Pretty good ecks.

Yeah go with TSP's spread. It evens out defenses at 261. You could consider making gengar a timid scarfgar to revenge kill Deoxys-E. I can see CB Gross giving this team a little trouble. But Swampert will be able to beat it. Looks pretty solid.

Thanks StaleFish, i'll definitely try out that Swampert set. (ZOMG TSP used it!) Lol. And the Gengar has Wise Glasses, not Wide Lens, simply 'cause i didn't know what to put on it, but i was seriously considering a ScarfGar 'cause after Deoxys dies, this team is one of the slowest...

OMG, my brain is stupid.... I didnt see Glasses ROFL. I guess you can keep Wise Glasses so you wont kill yourself in Sandstorm with extra power (unlike with LO).

Ugh, I remember this team, you owned another one of my random teams with it iirc.

It looks like you may have some troubles with bulky Swampert yourself, especially if SR is set up and it has Roar. It looks like you can wear it out eventually, but not before taking some annoying hits. Gyarados can't really counter it if it keeps Roaring you out and you keep getting hit with SR. Just a quick thing I saw, too lazy to do any serious reviewing. =P

A well put together team, not much to comment on (well I'm still training my battling team so I don't really have to much to offer) Two things though: One question is Do you like the Pokemon you're using. I mean, are you using them because you like them or just because they are good for the team? I think that everyone should use at least one of their favorite all time Pokemon on their teams to give it some character.

Another thing is that parts of this team are dependent on the metegame of the time. Such as those surprise moves. Will they still be effective as trends change?

Over all a very strong team.

Wierd because Toxic Spikes screw over three of your teammates. What's even more strange is that Deoxys-S is carrying Psycho Boost and still has reached this far (usually I use Psychic but perhaps it's working for you).

I think Choice Scarf seems redundant on Gengar when you have Deoxys-S outspeeding everything else. Life Orb sweeper would work real well with Gengar but obviously you can chose a different set if you so wish to.

Ofcourse i always use Pokemon that i like, unlike Pokemon i hate (Cress, Bliss, Garchomp, etc.)

I haven't really tried the Choice Scarf set yet, usually it has Wise Glasses and Hypnosis over Hidden Power Ice. It was just a suggestion someone gave me that i need to try out.
