I have two questions. One is from me, and one is from my friend who is too lazy to get an account here. =/

1. My question:
Has anyone actually tried using Ditto competitively, and had some success, even if it's just minor?
I'd think it would be pretty cool to win with that thing. You'd just have to know when to use it, and on what Pokemon. The lack of people using it would be an advantage since they might not think at the time what to do, and screw up.

2. My friend's question:
When using the Fast Hatch codes for AR, does it affect the legitimacy of the Pokemon at all?
(He's not asking for the codes. He's asking what it does to the Pokemon, if anything)
He wants me to use them when I'm trying to hatch all my eggs to make it go faster but no way I'm doing it.

1. I saw a Smeargle whit one in action, Ditto is just not good enough and Smeargle can have other 3 moves.

2. I think we are not allowed to discuss if any AR code is legit or not, but you should look around in the Wi-Fi forum and check what codes people use.

Which is probably why he didn't want to make an account. Prick. D:<

I'll try using Smeargle then, thanks. :) Spore!

What's a good way to take down Celetran? (I know pursuit is an option, but you can't really cover that)

opposing heatran, ddLO gyara, mamoswine, yachechomp, CRUSHKING, LO gengar laying ts ruins celebi in general if they dont have a spinner

No, because whenever you see a Ditto, you just switch in a pokemon for it to Transform into that's countered perfectly by something else on your team. And it has to take a hit for it to Transform. Maybe two, since it's guaranteed to speed tie with whatever is sent out after it Transforms. And it keeps its pathetic HP stat of 300 even if it Transforms into a Blissey. And each of its moves will only have 5 PP. And [list of reasons not to use Ditto competitively].

No, it will not mess with the data of your pokemon, in that sense. All it does is make the game think 1 step = 255 steps.

lol thank you. Yeah.... Seems a little pointless now, but I'd still like to try it. :)

And thanks on the egg step thing.

I have another minor question that's been asked a lot:

Does boxing Pokemon make their happiness go down?

I read it doesn't, but I always thought it did, especially back in GSC days. (Cursed Togepi... ugh.)

I don't think that it does, but letting your pokemon faint makes their happiness go down as well as those bitter items such as Energy Root.

It did in GSC, it doesn't in D/P. I don't know about R/S/E, but I don't think so.

Oh, wow. I guess that's why I (and just about everyone else) was confused there for a while, and why my Staraptor continues to crush things with Return.

Thanks for clearing that up!

If you're chaining a night-time Pokemon (i.e. Misdreavus), will the chances of a shiny patch apprearing during the day fall to 1/4, due to the fact that 1, 2, and 3 patches shouldn't normally contain a night-time Pokemon?

No, it should remain the same since while your chain of the night-time pokemon is still going and since you can still encounter it in the day-time while your chain is still going, it should still maintain the same shiny patch chances.

So if a +3 boost is passed to him he gets a +6 boost? What if he gets a +6 boost from Baton Pass will he get a +12 boost?
No, anything after +6 doesn't have any effect. In a way that can be a good thing, as if it's at +4 real stat (would be +8) lowering that stat won't have any effect, since it'd be at +3, which has the effects of +6.

It's kinda hard to put into words, but I think I managed to get the idea across.

A question of my own: has anyone figured out what's with the two Classic Ribbon descriptions?

Skarmory has 65 hp and 140 Def, hippowdon has 108 hp and 118 defense, but smogon says hippo has 10% more overall defenses than skarm , does that mean hp is more important than defenses like in the case blissey or vaporeon surviving unboosted outrages?

10% of Skarmory's combined HP and Def (65+140 = 205) is 20.5, Hippowdon's combined HP and Def is 226, so adding the extra 10% from Skarmory makes it 225.5, near enough 10%.

in a double battle, can i use gastro acid on my other pokemon (say i have gastropoke and slacking can i disable slackings power?)

Does anybody know a good EV spread for my Naive sunny day Shiftry?

Right now it is 6Atk/252SpA/252SpE but seeing that it does not need THAT much speed in the sun I am going to change some of its EVs into attack although I have no clue what a good spread for that would be, my number crunching is rather limited haha.

Any help is welcome.

Maybe this spread?

58 Atk./252 Sp. Atk./200 Spd.

That puts his stats at:

HP:321
Atk:250
Def:156
Sp. Atk:279
Sp. Def:140
Spd:270

I think that those stats are pretty equalized so yeah and since his HP stat is already at 321 with no EVs invested I thought to not just put any into that stat and he probably won't be taking many hits anyway with those defense stats.

which is the better ev spread for my shiny metagross?

adamant nature/ his iv are: 15/29/30/21/20/10

I already put 252ev in atk....

His stats with those IVs are:

HP:285
Atk:403
Def:295
Sp. Atk:194
Sp. Def:205
Spd:155

Maybe you could try the Agiligross set?

EDIT: 152 HP/252 Atk./104 Spd.

ok thanks.... i was wondering which was the best set between the cb gross and the agiligross one for my metagross
