Team: Skyscraper Virus!

Well, I thought of this team when I actually saw a youtube video with a trainer using Heracross, so I deicided that I should try and use one! (I never have...) So this team is basically an upgrade or sub to my "Team AntiVirus".

dpmfa430.png

Honchkrow @ Focus Sash
252 Atk / 252 Speed / 6 Def
Naughty
Insomnia
- Thunder Wave
- Whirlwind
- Drill Peck
- Sucker Punch
Honchkrow is my starter. She basically cripples many pokemon in the match with her Thunder Wave, and then if the situation gets grim, she can use Sucker Punch and go down fighting (Drill Peck and Sucker Punch have both 1 hit ko'ed many pokemon.).

dpmfa205.png

Forretress @ Leftovers
172 HP / 86 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed
Sturdy
- Spikes
- Gyro Ball
- Light Screen
- Earthquake
Forretress takes the role as my physical wall. For you people wondering: huh? Light Screen? wtf is your problem? Well, as I saw, Light Screen can actually help my team out alot by cutting special attacks in half. Overall, this is just your basic Forretress set, but with Light Screen added over Stealth Rock. Also Iron Ball gives me coverage over Weavile, and Earthquake helps alittle against Metragross, Lucario, and Infernape (Only if the latter is not a Mixape though...)

dpmfa143.png

Snorlax @ Leftovers
168 HP / 120 Def / 220 Sp. Def
Careful
Thick Fat
- Curse
- Body Slam
- Crunch
- Earthquake
Snorlax takes the role of my special wall. Snorlax happens to be my favorite pokemon for many reasons. With Curse, Snorlax is an almost unstoppable force. With a good 3 or 4 curses under his belt, he takes about 55% from a Close Combat from Infernape, then retaliates with a 1 hit ko Earthquake. He even does 70% damage to Blissey with a 4 Curse, STAB Body Slam. And then he takes about 7% damage from even the best ice beam or fire blast in the game. Also, he does a great job as a Heatran counter.

dpmfa330.png

Flygon @ Choice Scarf
252 Atk / 120 SpA / 136 Speed
Naughty
Levitate
- U-Turn
- Flamethrower
- Draco Meteor
- Earthquake
Flygon is a very underestimated dragon-type, so I included him on my team to prove a point. His speed is already really good, but when combined with a Choice Scarf, he is guarenteed to attack first, so someone who does not expect a Flygon will be for a huge surprise when he starts wreaking havoc on a team. U-Turn is for a quick switch with some damage, Flamethrower helps me against Metagross and the ever annoying Bonzong alittle, Earthquake helps me alot against Heatran, Lucario, and even dents Blissey! Draco Meteor is a suicide tactic that I use when either I am backed into a corner, or when I swtich into battle against another dragon type when I already have low HP.

dpmfa065.png

Alakazam @ Life Orb
252 SpA / 6 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid
Synchronize
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball
- Grass Knot
- Charge Beam
Alakazam is a forgotten Special Sweeper who is very powerful. Alakazam has enough sp. attack and speed to outrun AND ko many pokemon in the game. Psychic is a nice STAB attack that is very strong and has the occasional effect of lowering the foe's sp. def, which is always nice. Shadow Ball has the same effect and use, except it has no STAB bonus. Grass Knot destroys heavy pokemon who try to hinder me (Such as Rhyperior, Hippowdon, Golem?, T-Tar, and can handle Vaporeon (But, does not work very much...) Charge Beam is just for Gyrados, who may try to set up on me, also Charge Beam works better than Grass Knot on Vaporeon.

dpmfa214.png

Heracross @ Wide Lens
252 Atk / 6 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly
Guts
- Swords Dance
- Megahorn
- Stone Edge
- Close Combat
Heracross, as I mentioned earlier is a pokemon that I wanted to try out after seeing it's desructive power in many matches. Swords Dance boosts his already incredible attack strength to an even more deadly stat. Megahorn simply wreaks Physhic and Dark Types, as well as any other pokemon who does not resist Bug type attacks. Stone Edge makes Heracross laugh in Gyrados' face. Close Combat is just...pure..."pwnage" so to speak, little or no pokemon can actually survive it without alittle HP left (Except Defensive Walls...). Only two words describe this pokemon: Simply Amazing. Also paired with Honchkrow's T-Waving role, Heracross actually can pummel a whole team.

Well, this is my latest team. Please tell me what you think about it. Please make sure to leave actual advice, not just, "Yeah, Flygon sucks, use Mence or Chomp or even Nite."

Thanks

~Typhon~

On your Honchkrow, I would replace Whirlwind with Taunt. Whirlwind isn't reliable enough against other leads, while Taunt disables most popular leads. However, against suicide leads, you won't be doing much, since Honchkrow isn't the fastest Pokemon ever.

For Forretress, I don't believe Iron Ball is a move...
IMHO, Stealth Rock is a must support move for every team. It just does so much when you have it in play. I would suggest thinking about putting Stealth Rock on Forrey somewhere.

For Alakazam, Energy Ball is better than Grass Knot IMO. The power difference between Energy Ball and Grass Knot against heavier pokes is replaced with more reliability. Grass Knot only reaches 120 BP, and even then, its only achieved against the heavier end of the spectrum.

Its probably just me, but I feel that every team needs something to absorb status, and you kinda lack one. I think you should think about changing Heracross's moveset to a RestTalk. This accomplishes two things, giving your team a status absorber and ignoring the low PP of Heracross's great STAB moves.

Other than that, your team looks pretty balanced. Glad to see a team using three very underrated Pokes.

^ Doesn't heracross take status already...?

Why is your honkrow using a naughty nature? Since you're not using any special moves just go with adamant.

Grass knot is better in OU, simply because there's not a significant amount of pokemon that are hit harder with energy ball. Unless you really hate starmie and vaporeon. <_<

Curselax without rest really hurts it's durability. You'll lose coverage but it'll live a lot longer. A good player will not allow snorlax to gain 3-4 curses anyways.

I realize that you don't like garchomp but.... it's just better than flygon. Your description doesn't really convince me to use flygon over garchomp except for u-turn. Edit: wait lol, garchomp appears to be uber now.

This is a very original lead...But u dont do really good against the most common lead: Bronzong...I mean what are u going to do paralyse it so it has it's speed lowered? U can put taunt in place of whirlwind to prevent SR.

Forretress @ Leftovers
172 HP / 86 Atk / 252 Def

ROFL ! What's iron ball...... Oh u mean gyro ball... Toxic spikes > Spikes (U wont find time to lay down all 3 layers) and did u ever consider explosion over light screen?

dpmfa143.png

Snorlax @ Leftovers
168 HP / 120 Def / 220 Sp. Def

Snorlax with no rest or wish support = fail. Make him a sleep talker with curse/Fire punch and body slam sincer u dont have a status absorber...

Standard flygon set.

Nice set. but focus blast > grass knot for coverage.

This set is only good on paper... Heracross doesn't have enough speed to pull this off... I'd use the reversal set with salac berry, but that's just me...

Well, this is my latest team. Please tell me what you think about it. Please make sure to leave actual advice, not just, "Yeah, Flygon sucks, use Mence or Chomp or even Nite."

Hope i helped!

Suggestions in bold
Well, I thought of this team when I actually saw a youtube video with a trainer using Heracross, so I deicided that I should try and use one! (I never have...) So this team is basically an upgrade or sub to my "Team AntiVirus".

Eh, I guess he works, although i'm sure that you can think of a better lead than this.

dpmfa205.png

Forretress @ Leftovers
172 HP / 86 Atk / 252 Def

He looks good on paper at least T.T

Looks good, these things do wreck pokemon.

This is why I commented. Let's get down to the major point. Flygon sucks. He's horrible! Why not just scarf a Garchomp? No-one will expect scarf anyways so just scarf a Garchomp and you have made your team 50% better...

dpmfa065.png

Again, he is extremly frail, why not just use a luvdisk(sarcasm)? Anyways, use a Gengar as they can quickly status with Hypnosis and throw an HP Ice at dragons, tbolt the gyarados, and other interesting things.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! And...umm yeah, sorry about the Iron Ball thing, I guess I've used Forrey for so long, I am really used to saying iron ball. :P
To Kayjee: I do not use Garchomp because he is simply...too much, I like Flygon because without preparation, he can really screw up a team, and besides, I do not want a pokemon that everyone AND their grandma's use.

I totally agree, originality ftw. The point of my post was mainly to tell darkartisan that garchomp is uber, so you can't even run it in the first place.

An interesting set for use over that Flygon:

Dragonite@Choice Scarf
Naughty
252 Attack/74 SpA/184 Speed
Outrage
Earthquake
Fire Blast
Draco Meteor

Gains way more power but sacrifices speed. I've used that set to great success, as well as this one:

Dragonite@ Life Orb
EVs: 60 Atk/228 Spd/220 SAtk
Lonely nature (+Atk, -Def)
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Outrage
- Thunderbolt

Amazing wall breaker, it just comes in and wrecks shit.

As for the rest of the team, use Focus Blast over Charge Beam on Alakazam. Trust me, you need the coverage it gives. Alternatly, you could use HP Fighting for accuracy.

As for your Heracross, It looks fine, but consider Life Orb or Expert Belt over Wide Lens. It may cost you a bit with the accuracy, but in the long run the power is more valuable IMO.

Consider Bronzong over Forretress. You have a Mammo/Weavile weak, so that will really help. Wish support somewhere would help this team a ton also, so try something over Snorlax like a Vaporeon. Still takes care of Tran, while being a back-up Weavile/Mammo counter, provides Wish, and takes care of Gyarados. Pretty solid.
