The Funkalicious Funky Six

Alright, I've had a lot of success with this team, I just wanna see if I could improve this somehow.

I also need a new late-game sweeper.

My fiery lead
146.png

Moltres @ Choice Scarf
Modest : Pressure
EVs: 40 Def / 252 SpA / 216 Spe
- U-turn
- Will-o-Wisp
- Overheat
- Air Slash

My favourite lead. Overheat/Air Slash OHKO's many other leads. It doesn't fear Deoxys, Gengar, or anything else faster than it because of it's bulkiness. U-turn and Will-o-Wisp for anything it can't kill.

My Rapid Spinner/Physical wall

Donphan @ Leftovers
Impish : Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 6 Atk / 252 Def
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Stealth Rock

IMO the best rapid spinner in OU. Has Earthquake to hit Dusknoir and Spiritomb, Ice Shard for weak stuff and Dragons, and he can set up his own Stealth Rock.

My Seeder/Special wall

Venusaur @ Leftovers
Calm : Overgrow
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
- Sleep Powder
- Leech Seed
- Energy Ball
- [strike]Sludge Bomb[/strike] Hidden Power (fire)

Pretty much standard. Sleep Powder to sleep things, then leech seed for HP. Energy Ball [strike]and Sludge Bomb[/strike] for the STAB. HP Fire for Skarmory.

My Calm Mind stall thing
245.png

Suicune @ Leftovers
Bold : Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
- Surf
- Calm Mind
- Roar
- Hidden Power (electric)

CalmCune is a beast. Roar to stop setups, Surf for STAB, Hidden Power for Bulky Waters that try to wall me, and Calm Mind for the boost. I'm a fan of this set.

My funky wall breaker
248.png

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Brave : Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 60 Atk / 168 SpA / 28 Spe
- Substitute
- Focus Punch
- Crunch
- Ice Beam

I'd like to think there's nothing wrong with this set. I went with Brave for the extra power. Come in safely on a Blissey or another wall, Sub when they try to status me, then Focus Punch. Crunch is the main STAB move here, and I went with Ice Beam so I can hit Breloom, Donphan, Garchomp, Gliscor, Hippowdon, and Salamence.

My late-game sweeper
450.png

Garchomp @ Yache Berry
Jolly : Sand Veil
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
- Swords Dance
- Fire Fang
- Outrage
- Earthquake

Ah, good old SDChomp. Yache Berry to turn Ice Beam into a 2HKO. Is an absolute monster after a Swords Dance, and is a beast without one anyway. Outrage and Earthquake for STAB, only resisted by Skarmory and Bronzong, which is why I'm packing Fire Fang.

Alright, there it is. Thanks in advance.

I've always found a way to counter most Pokemon using Ice attacks. Cresselia's mainly a problem, but I just switch out for Suicune and roar it away as it sets up.

A fresh Suicune can hit it with HP electric, and survive an unboosted thunderbolt, and Venusaur can survive an Ice Beam while attempting to sleep it.

you can try lanturn over suicune, that solves most your problems, also whoever said cress was an issue is just wrong. I would also use a scarf zapdos lead over moltres and switch donphan for hippowdon, but only if you use lanturn. T-tar breaks cress easily unless it has hidden power fighting, and cress usage is down a lot so seeing a hp fighting cress would be rare.

It wasn't HP fighting that gave me problems on Cress, it was Ice Beam. I managed to counter it with Suicune though, so it's not really much of a problem for me.

I did consider Lanturn, though I prefer Suicune over it because it has better defenses.

Is Fire Fang needed on Garchomp? Skarmorys are usually taken care of by the time I send him out. Also, is Hidden Power Fire needed to kill Skarmory if I've got Moltres? I assume the opponent would switch when faced with Moltres, but the Venusaur thing is quite surprising.

I think Fire Blast > Fire Fang.
If you dont get the swords dance you will have problems with Skarmory.

Dragon Claw>Outrage
I used to use Outrage too but then the inability to switch is sometimes gamebreaking. besides late game is about diversity, you need to pick off any pokes as you can. Dragon Claw is always better on SD sets

But sometimes, most Pokemon are weakened, so Outrage should be able to hit them all fairly well, no? I suppose I could run Dragon Claw, as it stops me from being walled by steels. I can get a free SD with the Yache Berry. Does that mean I could keep Fire Fang? It'll hit harder after an SD.

Besides the fact that Salamance can't learn Outrage (yet), yeah, its practically the same set (although, most people usually give him bulky EVs to make him survive a hit, especially with intimidate)

If you want to use an agility sweeper, try metagross (w/ fire reducing berry or ground reducing berry)

Ah yeah, I could run some more HP EVs on Sala.

Does Metagross make a good late-game sweeper? I can see him picking weak things off with a Bullet Punch, and mullering things with EQ and STAB Meteor Mash. He's also fairly bulky.

Agiligross can be pretty good, just make sure all their choice scarfers are crippled, out of commission or won't do anything to metagross

You get Outrage off Move Tutor in Platinum right? In that case, I might dl the Jap version and trade it over and stuff.

Lucario's quite good with Agility, but I'd like something that was stronger.
