Lets Form Voltron! (Standard Team)

This is a baton pass team I'm having trouble getting to work correctly. Any help would be appreciated.

Form Feet (Gliscor) @ Leftovers (Lum Berry?)
252/HP, 252/Spe, 4/SP.def
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Hyper Cutter
- Rock Polish
- Baton Pass
- Taunt (?)
- Roost

The obligatory opening speed passer. Rock polish builds up his speed while roost heals damage that might have been inflicted. Taunt is supposed to stop stealth rocks and status moves, but is replaceable.

And Legs (Smeargle)@Focus Sash
252/HP, 252/Spe, 4/Def
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Own Tempo
- Baton Pass
- Ingrain
- Spider Web
- Spore

The also obligatory smeargle that passes ingrains to stop whirlwind. Spore and focus sash lets him usually get at least one free turn. Spider web is there to lock a sleeping/set-up pokemon in place long enough to get the chain going.

Form Arms (Scizor)@Leftovers
252/HP, 104/Def, 152/Spe
Nature: Impish
Ability: Swarm
- Swords Dance
- Iron Defense
- Iron Head
- Baton pass

Resists ice moves that might be troublesome for Gliscor as well as passing attack and def boosts. Iron head is a powerful stab that hits a variety of pokemon and is more or less filler.

And Torso (Mr.Mime) @ Leftovers
252/HP, 216/Spe, 40/Sp.Def
Nature: Calm
Ability: Soundproof
- Calm Mind
- Encore
- Thunderbolt
- Baton Pass

There to soak up roars when neccesary as well as past calm mind boosts to pokemon. Encore lets him lock a pokemon trapped earlier by smeargle into a single move for long enough to get the chain going. Thunderbolt is there to hit skarmory, suicune, and starmie among other things

And I'll Form The Head (Vaporeon) @ Leftovers
188/HP, 252/Def, 68/Sp.Atk
Nature: Bold
Ability: Water Absorb
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Substitute
- Baton pass

Passes 101 subs as well as hitting those pesky dragons and pokemon hit by his stab move. Very basic, bulky enough to take hits (especially with iron head or calm mind boosts backing him up)

that only leaves

Voltron (Metagross) @ Expertbelt
252/Atk, 132/Spe, 124/Sp.Atk
Nature: Naughty
Ability: Clear Body
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake
- HP Fire
- Grass Knot

Hits a variety of pokemon for super-effective damage and most things for normal damage. Expertbelt lets him punish those that are weak to his attacks. If he gets all the boosts backing him up, he becomes nearly invincible. Resists Toxic Spikes and Sandstorm

I repeat, I'm actually having trouble getting this team to work, either because I suck at using baton pass teams (likely) or there is something fundamentally wrong with my pokemon choices (also likely). Any advice would be much appreciated.

5 bonus points if the refrences make you giggle

Form Feet (Gliscor) @ Leftovers (Lum Berry?)
252/HP, 252/Spe, 4/SP.def
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Hyper Cutter
- Rock Polish
- Baton Pass
- Taunt (?)
- Roost

I wouldn't recomend Gliscor. I've tested Gliscor, Ninjask, and Zapdos - Zapdos takes it hands down. Although Gliscor has Taunt, Zapdos can take a hit better and pass subs alot better as well. The other main thing Zapdos does is scare Gyardos the fuck away. IF you're going to do a special sweeper, then you could even put Charge Beam > Thunderbolt...IDK about that, haven't tested it, just an idea. I'll show you the Zapdos I used:

dpmfa145.png

@ Lum Berry
Calm - Pressure
252 Hit Points/ 112 Speed/ 146 Special Defense
Agility
Baton Pass
Substitute
Thunderbolt

This set takes a hit, and also out speeds everythin after an Agility. The biggest things this set does is:

1) Scares Gyardos leads/in general away
2) Gets a perfect set up start against staus leads/set up leads. Agility when they Hypnosis/etc, then sub when they try again to make it not work, then pass accordingly. Thunderbolt is obviously for STAB and is the best option unless you would like to try Charge Beam, which I'm not sure how well that'd go...

And Legs (Smeargle)@Focus Sash/Lum Berry
252/HP, 252/SpDef, 4/Def
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Own Tempo
- Baton Pass
- Ingrain
- Spider Web
- Spore

Smeargle doesn't need Speed EV's, after an Agility he'll outspeed everything (or atleast in my 2 months of playing with him he did...). Spider Web is fine here if you want but other options include Subsitute and Rapid Spin. Rapid Spin takes care of Stealth Rock/Spikes/Toxic Spikes/Leech Seed from hitting you hard while setting up/sweeping. If your sweeper is NOT a steel type, then put Rapid Spin so that Toxic Spikes won't kill him. Lum Berry allows you to switch in on a Status attack then fire back with Spore. Also allows you to switch in on Toxic Spikes and get rid of it with Rapid Spin without him being hit hard by it.

Form Arms (Scizor)@Leftovers
252/HP, 104/Def, 152/Spe
Nature: Impish
Ability: Swarm
- Swords Dance
- Iron Defense
- Iron Head
- Baton pass

You could go with Iron Defense, that's fine, but another option is Substitute. Other than tht nothing to change really. Be aware, SCARF HEATRAN IS FASTER THAN THIS EVEN AFTER AN AGILITY.

And Torso (Mr.Mime) @ Leftovers
252/HP, 216/Spe, 40/Sp.Def
Nature: Calm
Ability: Soundproof
- Calm Mind
- Encore
- Thunderbolt
- Baton Pass

This is OKAY but I don't really recommend him since the ONLY thing he does is pass Calm Mind and protect you from Perish Song. Now then there are 3 things that kill/severely hurt Baton Pass teams.

1) Haze (doesn't kill them but really hurts since it can't be stopped really)
2) Destiny Bond, no way around it
3) Perish Song, no way around it

Perish Song is rare to find, so unless you are just REALLY worried about it...drop Mr. Mime. The reason I'm saying to drop the pokemon giving you Sp Atk boost is because ATTACK is much better and faster than Special Attack. Focus on ONE not BOTH, you don't run Calm Mind AND Swords Dance, and since Swords Dance is faster and more effective, that's the way to go. These teams are SPEED craving. The more you drag it out can hurt you more and more. You need to get in, get out and do it fast.

And I'll Form The Head (Vaporeon) @ Leftovers
192/HP, 252/Def, 64/Spe
Nature: Bold
Ability: Water Absorb
- Roar
- Ice Beam
- Substitute
- Baton pass

Ok well just to let you in on a secret, this isn't used as a sweeper/attacker. It's utility. Roar hits what hurts you most, opposing Baton Pass teams (because they won't set up ingrain 95% of the time trying to get to the sweep faster than you), and other pokemon that try to set up while you are (Calm Mind Suicune, Dragon Dance Gyarados, etc). If you are NOT afraid of that happening, Wish is still better than Surf.

Voltron (Metagross) @ Expertbelt
252/Atk, 132/Spe, 124/Sp.Atk
Nature: Naughty
Ability: Clear Body
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake
- HP Fire
- Grass Knot

Rule #1: Don't use a mixed Sweeper, focus on Special Attack or Attack, then go with it.
Rule #2: Make sure that the pokemon you pick, and the attak spectrum (Spatk of just ATK) can OHKO every pokemon after 6 Boost (aside from pokemon like skarmory, it needs to OHKO any pokemn that can kill it, or status it).
Rule #3: The sweeper needs to be a Steel type UNLESS you run Rapid Spin on Smeagle.

I used Medicham. NO he's not a steel type, BUT he can learn Baton Pass - that's important. The fact that he can learn Baton Pass means that I can pass to him early when the opponent gets a pokemon that won't let me set up, kill it, then pass back to finish setting up if need be. Other good sweepers include (keep in mind that Medicham is the only sweeper that learns Baton Pass): Lucario, Metagross (MAYBE?, I'd definately recommend Lucario over it), for Physical - Lucario, Azelf and Gengar (maybe? again, Lucario over these 2 IMO), for special. Again, I recommend Physical.

Ok well I'm actually a very experienced Baton Pass player. Over the past 2 1/2 months, I played Baton Pass for 2 solid months, and so here's my advise to you (in the quote). If you want to see the 3 teams I'VE created, just search my threads. Another thing I'd like to say about RMT posting in GENERAL.

1) We don't care what you nicknames are, leave them off - it only makes it harder to read.
2) Post picture of the pokemon (like I did for my Zapdos) that way we can just see the picture and know what pokemon it is, also makes it more APPEALING to read and help fix.
