Yeah, like OMG a Sunny Day team in THIS day and age? Go figure. I decided to change things up a bit and make a team like this.
At first glance....
...yeah at the sight of a JUMPLUFF you'd think this team is sub-par, but I think it's pretty good. The only thing bad I'm noticing is lack of defensive pokes.
So here's the team.......IN DEPTH (in that really dark-sounding announcer voice):
NOTE: EDITS ARE IN BOLD
Pokemon Replacements: Infernape for Deoxys
=================================================
Deoxys @ Light Clay
Ability: Pressure
Nature: Timid
EV's: Max HP, Max Spd, 4 Def
Moveset:
Reflect
Light Screen
Stealth Rock
Taunt
I switched my Leadape for a Lead Deoxys-S for two reasons: 1) Because my team is mostly offensive so I need to bulk up my defenses and 2) Because I NEED to Taunt those bastard Azelfs and Aerodactyls before they set up Stealth Rock. Anyway, this is your standard Dual Screen Lead, complete with Light Clay, both screens, ironically the entry hazard I want to avoid mySELF, and Taunt. At worst if I face off against OTHER DS Deoxys leads, it'll be a 50-50 chance I Taunt him before he does to me. I really don't know what else to say here; these things have been so common lately, you probably didn't have to even read this to understand it.
=================================================
Jumpluff @ Heat Rock (SunnyPluff)
Ability: Chlorophyll
Nature: Jolly
EV's: Max HP, Max Spd, 4 Atk
Moveset:
Sunny Day
Sleep Powder
U-Turn
Encore
Smogon just recently put this up, and I thought it looked like a pretty good strategy. First, I Sleep Powder. Then while my opponent either switches or does nothing I'm able to set up an 8-turn Sunny Day. Last, I U-Turn to get the hell out of there(now with a collosal 700 speed), hopefully giving one of my sweepers a free switch in. Encore is for when something's already asleep. Hopefully I can take advantage of 'Pluff's speed to Encore a setup move (Especially against SD+BP Scizor who thinks he can get more than one boost.).
=====================================================
Charizard @ Salac Berry (Bellyzard: Two Attacks)
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Adamant
EV's: Max Atk, 4 Def, Max Spd
IV's: 30 HP (If Sub) 31 HP (If Endure)
Moveset:
Substitute / Endure
Belly Drum
Fire Punch
Earthquake
Make that 3 standard sets so far: this time the two-attack Bellyzard set. You'd think that +6Atk + STAB + 75 Base Power + Blaze was scary...now add another 1.5 boost due to Sunny Day. This thing will DECIMATE Gyarados switch-ins, possibly even without Stealth Rock (which by the way helps this guy out tremendously). Earthquake is obviously for type-coverage and destroys Heatran...however I doubt Heatran will switch in once he sees me using Belly Drum.
A thing that concernes me about this is the possibility of Stealth Rock. Since I don't have a Rapid Spinner, I can instead use a Max HP IV and use Endure > Sub. This way, I can switch into Stealth Rock and Belly Drum on the switch instead, bringing me down into Salac range. If I do this though, I'm more prone to priority moves, especially Scizor's Bullet Punch and SDLuke's Extremespeed.
And if Stealth Rock IS on the field, I can still Sub into Salac range on one turn, and you have to admit that at least 293 Atk + Blaze + STAB + 75 base power will still be doing moderate-to-good damage. At least Scizor and Lucario won't be immediatley switching into this guy, right? Or Weavile for that matter...or Mamoswine...or Metagross...
=====================================================
Exeggutor @ Life Orb (SD Sweeper)
Ability: Chlorophyll
Nature: Modest
EV's: Max Sp. Atk, Max Spd, 4 Def
Moveset:
Sunny Day
Grass Knot
HP Ground
Explosion
Exeggutor is my other sweeper besides Charizard. If Sunny Day isn't set up, he sets it up. Now, Exeggutor has 418 thanks to his ability, and he can outrun a lot of fearsome threats including: Infernape, ScarfTran, most Scizor, Weavile....you get the idea.
Grass Knot is great for 2HKO'ing Tyranitar, Gyarados, and Suicune, and I chose it over Solarbeam, as it can reliably take on Tyranitar if it switches in during Sunny Day.
HP Ground was recommended over HP Fire, and is PERFECT to kill Heatran with, as well as any non-scarfed Infernape. Explosion is usually better than Psychic in situations where GK and HP are neutral, plus it gets a LO boost (Which will still OHKO Blissey even with Modest).
==================================================
Heatran @ Choice Specs
Ability: Flash Fire
Nature: Timid
EV's: Max Sp. Atk, 224 Spd, 32 HP
Moveset:
Overheat
Earth Power
Dragon Pulse
Solarbeam
You know what? Screw Dugtrio, I'm going with a freaking SpecTran. My team has enough speed already (seriously look at the last 4 and consider for a moment). Plus, since there are so many ScarfTran out there, I might even get a free turn while they switch out, fearing me outrunning them.
Overheat was recommended over Fire Blast / Flamethrower, since this Heatran will probably be switching more than Scarfed versions. Dragon Pulse destroys any Dragon locked into Outrage (including those new DD-Outrage-Gyarados). Earth Power destroys the mass amount of Fire types Heatran can happily switch into (besides Camerupt lol). Solarbeam was another recommended move, and it easily delivers a quick 2HKO on the likes of Suicune and Milotic.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I found a pretty good strategy involving Heatran incase Dugtrio does show its 3 heads. This works especially well due to almost all 'Trios being Choiced nowadays.
1: Heatran kills something
2: Dugtrio comes in and sadly revenge-kills him
3: I switch in Charizard and get a free Sub while 'Trio switches out
4: Proceed to use Belly Drum and to WREAK HAVOC
I know this strategy means sacrificing Heatran, but against a faster Dugtrio, what can I do to avoid it?
===================================================
Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
Nature: Bold
EV's: 188 HP, Max Def, 68 Sp. Atk
Moveset:
Wish
Ice Beam
Toxic
Protect
This Vaporeon actually works pretty well on a Sunny Day team. He can switch into Water attacks with ease, healing himself and simultaniously protecting my other pokes from them. He then can pass Wish over to my other team members. Toxic / Protect is for scouting moves and wearing down my opponent's bulky Water. Surf's really out of the picture due to the sun, so Ice Beam's there to take down Dragons and annoying Ground types.
=====================================================
Ok, so that's my latest team. I think it really has some potential, but of course I need some help, especially with:
Charizard's strategy (Sub Bellyzard or Endure Bellyzard)
One last thing: I'm not really going to be using this team on Shoddy that much, so please don't flame me for having like a huge Skymin weakness or something like that.
PLEASE HELP WITH THIS TEAM! =D
