From what i understand (which is very little about berries) If you water them every time they need water, the more berries the plant will produce. if you dont water it enough you might get 1 or 2. If you water them every time they need water, you get the maximum amount the plant can produce. I think for some it is like 15 berryes per plant.
 
can someone explain to me why Gengar is still used so much, or that it was ever used

because Azelf and Alakazam seem to be better in every way?

Also, does Metagross usually run max speed, in other words, can mamoswine outspeed it most of the time?

Mamo almost always outspeeds, unless it's Scarfed or got an Agility in.

Gengar has a sleep move, immunity to fighting/normal, STAB Shadow Ball, better coverage than Alakazam, Explosion, Will-o-Wisp, Focus Punch, more SpA than Azelf, Posion typing, the list goes on and on...
 
well the sleep move no longer applies,
i dont see how it has better coverage than alakazam if it has the exact same moves except for thunderbolt

and also, how does gengar beat skymin now, isnt skymin THE special attacker

but anyways, what do you guys think of the following 2 gengar sets that im considering

Gengar @ Life Orb
Timid
252 SpAtk/ 252 Speed
-Substitute
-Shadow Ball
-Focus Blast
-Thunderbolt

or

Gengar @ Choice Scarf
Timid
252 SpAtk/ 252 Speed
-Trick
-HP Ice
-Thunderbolt
-Shadow Ball

the first one is hard to stop, and Life Orb lets it 2HKO most Metagross
but again, isnt Sub Attacking Skymin better

the second one provides some extra protection against DD Salamence/DD Gyarados, and Tricks stuff like Blissey
but its easier to stop once the Choice Scarf has been tricked away
 
Gengar is a hell of a lot easier to switch in with his Ground, Fighting and Normal immunities. The attraction to Gengar used to be his sleep move, but now that the accuracy has been lowered it might not be such a draw. Although Gengar still possesses some advantages over Azelf / Alakazam in usable Atk for Focus Punching and Destiny Bond, etc.
 
so...
without hypnosis, gengar no long sports any advantages over azelf and alakazam except for focus punching, and switching in?

and also, which one of the 2 sets do you deem to be more effective
or should i scrap gengar altogether for skymin

Azelf's attack is equal to it's special attack.
 
yea but it cant learn focus punch
but im not going to use focus punch anyway on gengar

anyone with any comments on the 2 sets i posted?
 
Trick is becoming very popular and is effective. I say go with the second one.
IMO, gengar is too frail for it to use sub, unless it has a petaya berry.

Scyther is a UU Pokemon. It belongs to an actual tier. Pokemon such as Sneasel, Meditite, Tangela, Yanmega are also banned due to Uberness, and Phione is banned for the same reason Scyther is.
 
hmm yea i was thinking the same thing
scarf gar can put an end to DeoxysS, until it gets banned of course
DDmence and DDgyara can be revenged easierly

but the only problem is, whose the best special nowadays?
Skymin?
and my only other attacker on my team is also a scarfer, Heatran
altho Gengar can trick his off
 
Well scyther was never meant to be a stage 1 pokemon to begin with so has incredible stats, and the LC is all about speed and power. At level 5 He has 22 speed, faster than any natural speed in LC. also has 110 Base attack incredibly high for LC with technican quick attack / aerial ace also. 110 base atack and 105 speed is just to great for LC to handle.

actually phione is banned because it cant evolve
to be eligible for little cup you have to be an unevolved pokemon that can evolve. phione has as much viability in little cup as tauros

just to make sure im doing this right..The tyrogue family has to be bred with a Ditto right? And which of Tyrogues abilities evolves into Technician for Top?
 
I was thinking of a set like: Surf/Mirror Coat/ Reflect/ Recover!
Using a spread to maximize its defenses.

Would it work? If I don't include any Sp.atk evs, then where should I put them in?
