My Standard Wifi Team

Background:
Well, surprisingly this team was created without any thoughts whatsoever. I just brought these pokes to a Wi-Fi Battle against one of my friends, and it actually did really good. I ended up 4-0ing him. So, this team was good and I have 10 Wins, 8 DCers (noobs that go: "omg how r did tht happn?" because they were on they're last poke who couldn't take me out in anyway), and 2 Loses. So anyways, enjoy my team. Please feel free to give me any suggestions about it :).

claydol.png

Claydol @ Light Clay
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Hp 4 Def 252 Sp. Def
Nature: Careful (+Sp. Def) (- Sp. Atk)

- Stealth Rock
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Explosion

---
Although Claydol is rarely used as a lead. I find it quite useful. First, I stealth Rock, get either Light Screen, Reflect, or sometimes both. And then I either save him for later, or just blow up in their faces xD. Good pokemon, and with extremely high Special Defense, and above 300 Defense, it will always do it’s job.

azelf.png

Azelf @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Atk 252 Sp. Atk 252 Speed
Nature: Mild (+ Sp. Attack) (-Defense)

- Psychic
- Flamethrower/Thunderbolt
- U-Turn
- Explosion

---
Standard Azelf sweeper. He gets the job done, and if he know’s he’s gonna die. He’ll just sash, and either explode, or I’ll save him later for a free switch in.

togekiss.png

Togekiss @ Wise Glasses
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 4 Hp 252 Sp. Atk 252 Speed
Nature: Modest (+Sp. Atk) (-Attack)

- Heat Wave
- Air Slash
- Aura Sphere
- Nasty Plot

---
Togekiss’ main goal is to sweep, and also to get alot of Flinch Hax in, to outstall with air slash. The reason I have 3 attacks is because, if like a heatran comes in, I can’t Heat Wave, and Air Slash will barely be useful, there are alot of ScarfTrans that can outspeed me, so I went with Aura Sphere because it never misses, and is x2 on Heatran, Blisseys, etc. And is 4x on things like TTar. Pretty decent IMO.

celebi.png

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Hp, 4 Defense, 252 Sp. Def
Nature: Calm (+Sp. Def) (-Attack)

- Leech Seed
- Recover
- Energy Ball/Psychic/Thunder Wave/Grass Knot
- Psychic/Energy Ball/Thunder Wave/Grass Knot

---
This is a pretty basic Celebi, but there are more Bold Celebi’s than Calm ones. I wanted to use Calm because most people assume its Bold, and bring something with special attack in. It’s another Special wall, assuming that Claydol will die in the start of the game, thats why I also had it be calm. A good staller, and a common wall. And it's shiny :D

infernape.png

Infernape @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 Hp. 252 Attack 252 Speed
Nature: Adamant (+Attack) (-Sp. Atk)

- Flare Blitz
- Close Combat
- Earthquake
- U-Turn

---
Pretty basic Ape, not that much to say. It’s maxed in attack (337) so it hits pretty hard even if its moves are “not very effective” to some pokes. One time it did around half of max hp too a Gyarados with Flare Blitz. A good sweeper with around 300 speed.

vaporeon.png

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 Hp. 252 Defense 4 Sp. Atk
Nature: Bold (+ Defense) (-Attack)

- Wish
- Protect
- Surf
- Ice Beam

---
My Physical wall. Pretty good IMO. It also has decent special attack, so It can still do some good damage on things.

Well. There's my team. I hope you guys like it :) Tell me anything I need to improve on.

^ Please don't mini mod.
(is this me mini modding?)

Any way plenty of people do "Under Construction Threads" I've seen one person ever getting locked for it.

So, give it time.

Just a few Changes

Infernape @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 Hp. 252 Attack 252 Speed
Nature: Adamant (+Attack) (-Sp. Atk)

- Flare Blitz
- Close Combat
- Earthquake/Swords Dance/Fake Out/Thunderpunch
- U-Turn

Point of earthquake? Flare Blitz hits steels, Close Combat hits Rock? unless your scared about not Koing Heatran w/ CC no need. Swords Dance soothes your fears, or Fake Out to Break a sash, Thunderpunch to hit Zapdos, and Dragons for average damage.

Togekiss @ Wise Glasses
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 4 Hp 252 Sp. Atk 252 Speed
Nature: Modest (+Sp. Atk) (-Attack)

- Flamethrower
- Air Slash
- Aura Sphere
- Nasty Plot

Why use Heatwave when you have access to Flamethrower, trust me when you miss that Gliscor in Sandstorm with Heat Wave you might wish you had that 10% more accuracy. You could always put Expert Belt on, but the damage increase doesnt change IIRC.

Other than that your team looks pretty solid just a few insignificant, but possibly effective changes.

your team is a bit dark weak and a tyranitar/weavile could most likely sweep your team. but i really cant think of witch of your pokes to switch out. celebi could probably take the tyranitar if you predict well. your infernape and veporeon are the only things that can switch into weavile and we both know infernape's not going to take any hits. i would give veporeon a rock/fighting move to hit weavile, but other then that god job.

I see no problem with T-Tar as Ape can easily revenge kill, although you will have to lose 1 member, replacing Claydol with Bronzong could solve this.

I actually like this team a lot. It looks like a cool core, so I'll try not to tinker around to much with it. I have 2 maybe 3 things I would probably change. First off, Bronzong/Deoxys-E can do that same lead set, and better to an extent. I would probably go with bronzong as it can help out with that nasty Tyranitar weak that was mentioned earlier. As for your Togekiss, I would probably try the bulky Nasty Plot set with roost, so that you can take some hits, and recover off while proceeding to sweep. Give your Celebi Thunder-Wave to help spread paralysis and give your Togekiss an easier time sweeping. On your mixape, I like the Physical set, probably give it Mach Punch over U-Turn in my opinion so that you can deal with Tyranitars, Lucario's, and Scizors better. All of which can trouble this team, to an extent.

On a side note, maybe try a Scarf Azelf, so that Gengars/ScarfGars don't cause you to much trouble, just an opinion though, if not just change that to a Life Orb, as Stealth Rocks is usually the first moved in a battle, and a late game sasher is pretty useless due to this.

Overall good team, and I hope I helped it out. Good luck =D

its very weak to skymin, possible 6-0, but skymin may go uber and it may not be popular on wifi, id change infernape to jolly to outspeed positive base 100s and it also helps against other infernapes, claydol is stopped by taunt leads forcing him to switch or explode, i cant think what a replacement could be though because you have azelf as a sweeper

You can take out earthquake and put stone edge on infernape and change his nature to jolly to outspeed +nature base 100 like zapdos, jirachi, etc. Almost everything else has been mentioned before me so yeah. Its a solid team. Good work on it ^_^

I only use D/P... There aren't Skymins in D/P.

The team is looking pretty solid. One thing is for sure though, Bronzong can perform and do way better what Claydol is doing in this team, this means setting up your screens and actually deal with Weavile and Mamoswine, which I don't see the team being able to handle either one, so having high SpDef does not matter when you're able to handle a lot with such handy resistances. You can't really call Vaporeon a physical wall, because I'm pretty sure it won't be surviving a +2 Close Combat from a Lucario, but I would not really remove it, as it can be your only sure counter against MixApe, and if you can get HP Electric on it for Gyarados, that'd be much, much better. If you can, because I do understand this is Wi-Fi, try to get a Zapdos, Hidden Power Ice isn't needed either, as Thunderbolt and Heat Wave do a pretty good job with some Roost and Reflect / Light Screen support. Zapdos will be the "physical wall" here, which it can handle Lucario and Scizor very well, and Heracross as well (barring Stone Edge), and with Light Screen it's capable of handling Skymin 1 on 1. 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spe @ Bold should be okay, just remember this won't be able to handle Tyranitar, who again can a massive treath without the proper things, but if you go with Bronzong, Bronzong can server as a pretty good resistance against Tyranitar. I don't think Focus Sash is a good idea on Azelf right now, because Azelf can do much better with a Choice Scarf, which will make it a pretty fast scouter / sweeper as well.

I can't say much else, due to the fact that nothing much can be changed in the Wi-Fi metagame, but if you can, maybe a Starmie > Vaporeon here, because the Stealth Rock and Spikes weakness is killing the team here, and Starmie can handle MixApe and Gyarados somewhat as well, while being a pretty good Rapid Spinner as well.

celebi is one my favorite pokemon.
set should be
leech seed
recover
grass knot (no energy ball)
thunderwave
