Introduction: This is the team I been working on for the past week and finally got something that works for me. This team is main strategy is to setup Empoleon for a late game sweep but the team has won without even needing him. The team been working well since its creation. It is fairly consistent. This is probably the team I took the most time making, therefore its probably my best. I am still getting use to it but stands up well. Even though you can notice I have a ground weakness, its covered and allows Rotom - H and Salamence to come in safely. Celebi resists Earthquake so it can easily come in as well and help support the team. Now without further adieu, here is the rest of the team.

Weakness and Resistance Chart

Lead:

metagross.png

Metagross @ Lum Berry
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP/240 Atk/18 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Explosion
- Meteor Mash
- Bullet Punch

Description: This is my Stealth Rock LeadGross. I design it so it can take out Lead Aerodactyl and Lead Azelf. Both of which are very common right now. Meteor Mash over Earthquake for hitting those to harder and Earthquake was mainly for Heatran and Infernape anyway which is covered via the other members of the team. This has been working very well in the field test so its most likely gonna stay that way. Explosion for when he down low on health or if I need a certain threat eliminated and can put a huge dent in Hippowdon leads as well if I wanted to. I use Lum Berry on this set for getting those first turn Hypnosis from Lead Gengars and Bronzongs. Against Gengar I can most likely KO them with Meteor Mash and go with a 1 - 0 lead earlier. I feel this was the best lead for those reasons for this team.

Toxic Spiker/Spinner:

tentacruel.png

Tentacruel (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 252 HP/120 Def/136 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Surf
- Knock Off
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin

Description:
This is my team's toxic spiker. I chose Tentacruel for 3 reasons. The first reason was to spread Toxic Spikes on the ground. Toxic Spikes help support Empoleon when he goes to make a sweep in the late game and can make Blissey go for a run for her money as she cant stall me as long as she wants too taking Poison Damage from 2 layers of Toxic Spikes. Toxic Spikes also help my team with Bulky Waters which can also hinder my Empoleon late game sweep. The second reason I chose Tentacruel was its ability to Rapid Spin and Knock Off. This is the reason I chose it over something like Drapion, Roserade, and Nidoqueen. With Spin, I can get rid of Stealth Rocks when most set are by a suicide leads. Previously you could not do this with Tentacruel, but thanks to Platinum changes you can now have both Rapid Spin and Knock Off. Knock Off helps some of Tentacruel counters. Anything with Specs/Scarf/Band comes in on it trying to take it out, I go to Knock Off taking there power or speed away. This also helps get rid of Leftovers on Blissey and Life Orb Suicune or any other pokes with it. My last reason for using Tentacruel is being a good counter to Heatran and Infernape. This is the main reason I use it over Forretress. Since my team could be in trouble against these 2 pokes I make sure to cover it with Tentacruel and Surf which resist most of their attacks. Heatran might decide to Explode and once Spikes are down that is fine by me cause its probably a bigger threat to me. Those Rotom - H can allow me to switch in on it and maybe waste their explosion as well. Infernape cant do much to it. Tentacruel resists both its STAB attacks and can fight back with Surf. Thunderpunch versions could prove a challenge but I am not worried as Tentacruel is bulky enough to handle it.

Spin Blocker:

rotomheat.png

Rotom-h @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/168 Def/88 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Overheat
- Discharge
- Shadow Ball
- Reflect

Description: This is my Rapid Spin Blocker so I can keep my Stealth Rocks and Toxic Spikes on the field as long as possible. That is not his only purpose though. Rotom - H makes a great counter to Scizor, Physical Lucario, and Gyarados. Rotom - H resists Scizor most dangerous move in Bullet Punch and is OHKOed by Overheat. He will draw in Heatrans because of this so most of the time I start off with Discharge. Discharge has a good chance of Paralyzing Heatran and solve my problem of him make revenge kills. I been thinking of Thunderbolt over Discharge since I have Celebi dishing out Thunder Waves as well which Heatran is a common switch in on that as well. Shadow Ball for STAB and can help hit enemy Rotoms coming in and has a chance to lower Sp. Def for my pokes to hit a bit harder. Choice Specs Lucario seems to be on the rise so I have to watch myself sometimes when coming in but I usually beat it with support from Tentacruel so it doesnt hinder Rotom - H that much. He also makes a pretty good counter to Heracross since it resists both Bug and Fighting. Once reflect is up, Stone Edge wont be doing that much as well. Pretty solid poke.

Supporter:
celebi.png

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/136 Def/122 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Grass Knot
- Earth Power
- Recover
- Thunder Wave

Description: Celebi is one of my team supporters. Sending Thunder Wave to many threats that can resist Toxic Spikes set my team up to deal with them easier and more efficiently. That is not Celebi only purpose though. She is also there to get rid of Bulky Waters like Swampert and Suicune to help ease my Empoleon sweep late game. Recover increases her longevity and Earth Power to hit steels and Infernape that sometimes like to come in on it. A predicted Earth Power can get rid of Heatran as well. I gave her more of mixed EVs for her defenses so she can take as much from some mixed sweepers as well and can turn Salamence sweep off as well. With the Reflect support from Rotom - H, she can even take a bit more physical pressure as well. Great poke and the ground resist helps cover my ground weakness giving her some good chances of coming in and fighting back.

Dragon Dancer:

salamence.png

Salamence (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 232 Atk/252 Spd/24 SAtk
Naughty nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Outrage
- Fire Blast
- Earthquake
- Dragon Dance

Description: This is my main sweeper for the mid and late game. I chose Dragon Dance for the speed and power. He has done his job quite well. With my Ground weakness, he can come in safely. The reason why I chose him when I was making the team and the fact I lack some speed and power outside of Empoleon after an Agility. EVs given is so Fire Blast can OHKO Skarmory and wont stop my sweep. It also hits Scizor and Forretress if I hadnt taken care of them yet. Outrage hits hard and is the primary STAB attack. Earthquake for steels like Magnezone and Metagross. Not much more I can say about him. He gets in and hits hard and if needed retreats. With Tentacruel getting rid of Stealth Rocks, it helps it fight longer and takes less damage coming in. The only thing I am debating about with this guy is Naive Nature over Naughty. Naive would make sure it outruns almost all base 100 pokes without a speed boosting nature and at worst tie with other Salamence. For now I decided for the power over the speed for now.

Petaya Late Game Sweeper:

empoleon.png

Empoleon (M) @ Petaya Berry
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 12 HP/232 Spd/252 SAtk/12 SDef
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Surf
- Grass Knot
- Agility
- Substitute

Description: This is the main man for this team. He comes in on his 11 resistances and then either subs or agility up. Almost nothing can really stand up to a Torrent Boosted STAB Surf under a +1 Special Attack increase from Petaya Berry. He is also great because he resists all priority moves that are common ie Ice Shard and Bullet Punch. Mach Punch and Vacuum Wave is the only ones that hits him for super effective. I chose Grass Knot over Ice Beam for now because some times Celebi may not be able to take those Bulky Waters out and if I decide to go early with him which I do not do all the time but I figure he does enough on most Dragons and what not anyway. Though I am still debating on it though. Not much else to say besides he is beastly.

I really like this team, nice presentation too (although I hate the green on celebi, please change it to a darker version as it is hard to read) but I still do have a few suggestions. If you are going to make celebi so special defense orientated you need reflect so add it over Earth Power.

You have a SD lucario (with crunch) weakness, so you could add a naive nature on salamence just for extra insurance.

Nice team, good luck with it.

At a glance, your Metagross wants max attack to have a 58% chance to OHKO 252 / 252+ Hippowdon with Explosion (you have an 100% chance to OHKO 252 / 168+ renditions).

My bad on the font but I fixed it now. I forget the other site I posted this has a darker skin so yeah.

Thanks for the advice. I am not sure if I want the extra Reflect and is a reason I use it on Rotom - H. Earth Power been quite helpful so I kinda want to keep it. So far Lucario hasnt been a problem but I could take that extra countermeasure to protect against it.

Thanks for the support :)

@ TeaBag - Maybe but I really dont fear Hippowdon that much

First off let me just say, Excellent team, apart from the 3 ground weaknesses but judging by the the way you wrote this RMT I think you can play around that.

Why do you have 18 Speed EVs on Metagross? Is it just filler? If not I suggest putting them into attack for that extra damage.

You also might want to put 36Spe EVs on Celebi to outspeeds jolly Tyranitar.

On Salamence I suggest dropping Fire Blast for Roost as with Life Orb damage and possible sandstorm he is going to get worn down. I also recommend this because if mence goes and you explode metagross Blissey has fun with this team baring Empoleon who they will probably have another poke for. Roost will help heal mence and stop Blissey coming in every 3 senonds.

Other than that, excellent team, happy battling.

You have quite a nasty weakness to zapdos particularly sub roost versions or worse toxic version not much will enjoy switching i and celebi wont last very long against it. I think you should get one of those fancy new cb flygon to further pound the steels over empoleon or another option is a scarfnezone unionzing the beatiful magnamece couple alternatively you could swap metagross to a swampert lead accomplishing a similar thing. This should help bearing in mind zapdos is one of the most popular pokemon in ou and you have nothing immune to its mighty stab attack.

Also this is a completely erroneous phrase:

"And without futher adieu."

It should be: "And without futher ado."

Adieu means goodbye or farewell and is a french word .Please fix this as recently i have seen it in to many RMTs. Thanks.

@ Shur.tugal - Fire Blast helps me too much vs Skarmory if it trys to come in and stop the Salamence sweep. I been thinking about using CB Flygon however.

@ iKitsune - Maybe I know I have a pretty hard Zapdos weak. Well team doesnt like sub pokes anyway lol. Though I been thinking of Flygon which I may use him as well.

Also meh about the grammer thing. I know the right way its just habit for me to type adieu since I use it quite a bit in fancy writings I do.

I must say I really like your team specially the Metagross Lead its quite a new lead I must say, just have to watch out for those Infernapes Leads, I guess Tentacruel can ahndle them... Anyways, about the Zapdos weakness I think Flygon can handle it easily, unless Zapdos has HP Ice which is no longer so common and hit ti back with either STAB Outrage/SE Stone Edge.

Nice team, I would like to use that Metagross Lead do you mind? D: (by the way, why do you have those Spd EV's on Gross? are they any useful to outspeed a particular poke?).

Yay for using Celebi! I dont think your team needs a Para support, most of your pokes are already fast enough and I think they will benefit more from a Leech Seed which also causes some switches inreasing the SR damage and eventually recovering some health.

On your empoleon I would switch Grass Knot for maybe Hidden Power Electric/Grass while grass deals with Swampert Electric hits for neutral on most Dagrons and SE on all waters (specially Gyara) Grass Knot is a bit lame IMO since it depends on your opponents pokemon which is not really reliable.

Good Luck!

I must say I really like your team specially the Metagross Lead its quite a new lead I must say.

Where have you been for the last few moths this is almost the standard lead atm.

Metagross outspeeds skarmory with those evs so it can explode before it roosts. Metagross lead was very popular in the Latias test. Due to the fact that it nicely counters latias and can set up sr and explode. If you do decide to use the metagross lead you will be very predictable. I prefer the scarf Metagross lead with trick but that is just me.

I think it would be better to have Thunderbolt over Discharge on Rotom. You want to keep Toxic Spikes out as long as possible, and since Rotom will be switching in to block Rapid Spin attempts, you don't want to use a lower power attack that has a better status chance when you'd rather have things getting poisoned.

Thunderwave on Celebi, however, I'm fine with to use against pokes that wouldn't be hit by Toxic Spikes like Gyarados.

I do think that Rotom-H needs Thunderbolt, since on my team (which is almost identical to this) I do run Thunderbolt, and the added power makes Rotom that much more usable. However, you might also want Will-O-Wisp somewhere to shut down Physical attackers (since switching in Tentacruel isn't exactly an easy task most of the time with its physical frailty). I also prefer Leech Seed over Earth Power on that Celebi.

I also personally prefer Swampert over Metagross to set up Stealth Rocks. Metagross is almost expected in today's metagame, and a lot of leads are designed to waste him in one-two turns with no chance for real retaliation. Even before that, though, I still used Swampert, simply because what leads carry a Grass attack to take out Swampy before it can get down rocks? It'll also help shore up certain vunerabilities, such as Ground, and provide extra resistance to Fire and Electric attacks, as these three types seem to be your biggest vunerabilities. I'm not going to give you my lead (or else you might get too good =P), but I would suggest perhaps Cursepert (sporting Waterfall/Earthquake/Curse/Stealth Rock).

I hope my comments helped a fellow staller.

Thanks guys for all the rates.

The main thing I am thinking about doing is changing Salamence out for Flygon who can help me against my Zapdos weak.

I use LeadGross mainly because I wanted to beat Azelf and Aerodactyl leads and get that early +1 but since Heatran and Infernape leads are becoming popular again I probably switch him out to something else. I dont really like Swampert for this team.

My team benefits more from Celebi having Thunder Wave than not.

I prefer Discharge right now for Rotom - H. It helps me paralyze incoming threats like Salamence (for some reason a common switch in on my Rotom) and Heatran (Paralyzing him makes it pretty easy for my team to counter).
