Im Old Greg. (RMT)

I made this team about a week ago and i've been using it on shoddy and I like it. It seems very balanced and i'm looking to improve it even more. Thanks in advance. :)

Zapdosback.png

Zapdos-Leftovers
EV's-252 HP/204 SpATK/52 SP
Modest/Pressure
Moves-
Thunderbolt
HP Ice
Substitute
Baton Pass

Maybe not the best lead, but it's descent. Although I would enjoy roost to keep Zapdos around longer. I might have to change the speed EV's to outrun a modest Yanmega though. :/

Gyaradosback.png

Gyarados-Leftovers
EV's-156 HP/108 ATK/100 DEF/144 SP
Adamant/Intimidate
Moves-
Dragon Dance
Taunt
Waterfall
Stone Edge

Standard Bulky Gyarados to wall certain physical threats and sweep later. I guess he is the "core" of the team, since when I started making the team I focused on his counters and sorta worked from there.

Venasaurback-1.png

Venasaur-Black Sludge
EV's-252 HP/4 SpATK/252 SpDEF
Bold/Overgrow
Moves-
Energy Ball
Sludge Bomb
Light Screen
Sleep Powder

Standard sponge Venasaur. Light Screen is a nice thing to set up after putting something to sleep. Stab Sludge Bomb is effective against Celebi and Energy Ball hits bulky waters that try to wall Gyrados (Vaporeon and Swampert). He may look like the weak link, but he fits well suprisingly. I rely on him quite alot, since having incoming threats like Metagross,Heatran and Zapdos put to sleep and light screen up is really nice.

Heracrossback-1.png

Heracross-Choice Band
EV's-104 HP/252 ATK/152 Speed
Adamant/Guts
Moves-
Close Combat
Megahorn
Pursuit
Knock Off/Stone Edge/Night Slash

Standard Heracross. I chose Hera for more physical backup and so I have something else to hit Cress,T tar, and Celebi. I'm not sure what I should go with for the last slot, Knock Off is a great move as always, Stone Edge will alow me to hit Gyarados, and Night Slash will hurt Rotom.

StarmieBack.png

Starmie-Choice Specs
EV's-136 HP/156 Def/216 Speed
Timid/Natural Cure
Moves-
Trick
Rapid Spin
Thunder Bolt
Surf

I needed a spinner and a little more Mixape insurrance so I chose Starmie. A good supporter and revenger killer.

Swampertback.png

Swampert-Leftovers
EV's-240 HP/216 Def/52 Sp Atk
Relaxed/Torrent
Moves-
Stealth Rocks
Surf
Ice Beam
Superpower/Stone Edge/EQ

I needed something to get down the rocks and switch into T-Tar. So wa-la Swampy. It works even better under light screen support, thanks to Venasaur. I might go with EQ for the coverage, but since I dont outrun Blissy would I be better with Superpower? :/

Sorry if i'm not discriptive enough, I truely am. If you guys can help me out and throw some suggestions at me i'd appreciate it alot.

THE MIGHTY BOOSH! :) Anyway I think Jolteon works better as a Sub passing lead than Zapdos does, although zapdos is bulkier Jolteon is also faster, and STAB thunderbolt from either of them usually OHKO's anything weak to it, shadow ball also gives you nice coverage on Gengar/Alakazam/Celebi and whatnot.

Jolteon@Leftovers
6 Hp/ 252 Special attack/ 252 speed
Timid nature
Shadow ball
Thunderbolt
Substitute
Baton pass

Thankyou for replying. :)

Hmm..Jolteon seems like a descent choice, but i'm not really intrested in a sub passer, I just thought it would be a descent lead. Jolteon can give me more protection from Zam,Celebii,Gengar, and revenge kill a whole lot of other stuff, but i'm not that concerned about them especially Celebii. I think having Zapdos on my team is fairly important since it has more bulk and can control more threats.

I think you're really weak to Heatran, primarly the Substitute version, if you fail to get Light Screen up at a good time.

Heatran@ Leftovers / Salac Berry
Nature: Timid
EVs: 6 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
- Substitute
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power Grass / Electric

I'll give some damage calculations to try and shine a bit of late on a potential problem when facing this:

Zapdos - 55.73% - 65.89% from Fire Blast:
100% 2HKO, you're outsped and losing HP from Substitute and Stealth Rock anyway.

Gyarados - 26.49% - 31.35% from Fire Blast:
A good reply for the most part, especially if you've got Light Screen in play. Stealth Rock takes its toll, though. You're outsped, so you're basically limited to one switch-in against Heatran in the long run if Stealth Rock is up. If it's Hidden Power Electric you're done for, but then Swampert should do okay.

Venusaur - 85.71% - 101.10% from Fire Blast:
Very good chance of a OHKO with Stealth Rock down (87.18%), you're outsped so can't get Light Screen up until the turn after anyway.

Heracross is OHKOed by Fire Blast and is outsped.

Starmie - 59.66% - 70.51% from Hidden Power:
You get one shot at it, as you're 2HKOed all the time.

Swampert - 83.79% - 98.75% from Hidden Power:
Swampert doesn't have much of a chance really, any prior damage means Swampert probably loses.

Now, you can work around it obviously, but a smart player will most likely tear up your team quite a bit with a Heatran like this. Be very careful around it.

I'm not really sure what your strategy is, so it's hard to determine what to replace, if anything really does need replacing...

As for the moves you need help with, go for Stone Edge on Heracross to do something to Flying-types. Swampert should have Earthquake in teh final slot.

I don't see much point in Sludge Bomb on Venusaur with all the Steel-types running around, but provided you can put them to sleep that's not much of a worry.

What is your usual game plan? I don't see much point in you Baton Passing those Substitutes around as I can't see you acheiving much behind them, especially with two Choice users.

Woah, thanks for the heads up man. I havn't had any trouble with Heatrans yet but i'll be more carefull now.

I guess the sub passing is kind of pointless. I might just change it to Roost and Heat Wave. I always think the lead should have some special objective of some sort like setting up rocks or scouting, so i just went with sub passing lol.

Venasaur has Sludge Bomb for Celebii and so I can hit flying types that are a sleep I guess. Plus it's stronger than Energy Ball. Steels arn't a problem, because like you said they're going to fall asleep when they switch in anyway....I hope.

Uhh...my game plan? Well I guess setting up rocks, light screen, spreading status (sleep). Then getting rid of SR and Gyarados/Zapdos counters so they can sweep later in the game.
