Introduction:
I never really got to register on the forums, just a lurker but I do play shoddy for quite sometime. I just battle and I'd like to present a team that I had huge success with and its very hard hitting like the title says. Got it into the ladder once 30 something, but decided to stop it, but for future playing (I'm going back to wifi) I might need some fixing to this team, without hesitation:
@ Leftovers
Relaxed
EV: 240 HP / 216 Def / 52 SpA
-Stealth Rock
-Earthquake
-Ice Beam
-Hydro Pump
Ever since the introduction of metagross got introduced as an effective lead, I have been very reluctant to use a "suicide" lead now. Bulky leads are back, for those that don't carry taunt anymore this guy usually guarantee's me an SR. Earthquake 2HKO Tyranitar leads, Ice Beam packs a punch and scares away dragon types, Hydro Pump adds more extra damage, and to be honest this guy is the only weak link to my team, good thing it's a lead. I could keep it for later. This is me explosion bait, Metagross usually carries explosion or earthquake and switching out to Gengar is no problem, they will usually explode after they lay down SR.
@ Life Orb
Naive
EV: 44 Atk / 212 Sp. Atk / 252 Speed
Shadow Ball
Focus Blast
Thunderbolt
Explosion
The bread and butter sweeper, no safe switch ins. Gengars main mission is to eliminate Blissey or any kind of special wall which is always a +1, because it will loosen up on my other special sweepers. Shadow Ball + Focus Blast is very good combo, a good enough combo to give me coverage. Thunderbolt is a filler, Sludge Bomb is pointless, Hp [Ice] does alright. Thunderbolt is mainly for Gyarados I suppose I can't let it get a DD, or else I will have to play around with switches. Explosion on Blissey, need I say more?
@ Choice Band
Adamant
EV: 252 HP / 252 Attack / 6 Speed
Super Power
U-Turn
Bullet Punch
Pursuit
The knot to my team, it will take constant poundings because it will switch in back and forth. The standard CB Scizor is probably one of the best scouting set and near staples to any offensive teams. Great typing, despite the x4 weakness to fire is good and U-Turn ans Bullet Punch pretty much handles most threats. Pursuit is for trapping Gengar mainly and Super Power gives me that extra coverage and that extra step to OHKO Blissey.
@ Leftovers
Naive Nature
EV: 6 Atk / 252 Sp. Atk / 252 Speed
-Explosion
-Psychic
-Flamethrower
-U-Turn
Another wall breaker, explosion is probably the best move in any offensive team. Again, it gives me more chance to handle Blissey and other special walls which suffer alot from Azelf's explosion. Psychic / Flamethrower is a pretty decent coverage not named Tyranitar. U-Turn is probably my best option to against it instead of Exploding on it.
@ Life Orb
Naive
EV: 6 Atk / 252 Sp. Atk / 252 Speed
Outrage
Draco Meteor
Earthquake
Flamethrower
What's an offensive team without one of the best mix sweepers? The EV's are set to max speed to outspeed other Salamences or dragon type which will usually carry Adamant nature with the standard DD set. It also lets me outspeed timid Porygon-Z and others that dont expect it. Draco Meteor / Outrage both great STAB moves for wall breaking, the only thing that resist it is steel type which is nicely handled by flamethrower / earthquake. Flamethrower instead of Fire Blast because a miss on Scizor is very crutial.
@ Shuca Berry
Naive
EV; 6 Atk / 252 Sp. Atk / 252 Speed
Fire Blast
HP [ Ice ]
Earth Power
Explosion
Shuca Heatran is pretty good, well pretty succesful for me. I don't like getting stuck with one move so I thought of slapping Life Orb, but the recoil and the speed is not good enough. So Shuca berry is good enough for me and it survives those brutal earthquakes with good defense thats usually forgotten. Fire Blast is my main STAB move, which will usually force out plenty of switches and assume its scarfed. Hp [Ice] handles DD first dragon types that fall for my "locked in" move. Explosion is my best move to eliminate a special wall and just go out on a bang. Earth Power gives me coverage.
Conclusion:
-Explosion on 3 pokemon is great, it scares opponents away it handles the scariest special walls and things that boost out of hand i.e Suicune.
-One weak to toxic spikes, all immune to it. Swampert doesn't mind it, it's usually my weak link.
-SR could be a problem, but 3/6 of my pokemon wont mind the damage simply because they will explode anyway, think of them as time bombs, after a kill or two, they will explode and killing 2-3 pokemon did its role already.
-Good luck and happy ratings
