This team is a bit different than my previous teams in the sense that most of the less bulky members have been replaced by those with longer longevity. The centerpiece of this team is really Heatran or even Flygon, because I plan to use them as my main sweepers. I feel like this team has some potential, but I'm not that good a battler yet to take this team to its full potential.
Team Advantages:
- Each member, save Flygon, is bulky in its own way; Be it decent HP or good defenses.
- Combined, the team as a whole resists or is immune to every type.
- Immunites (# of Pokemon): Electric (3), Poison (2), Ground (3)
- Hard, pretty fast hitters.
- Only one Pokemon is weak to SR, and he has a way to heal the damage.
- Decent Type Coverage in offense.
- An all-in-one Supporter + ParaFlinch attacker.
- Two Pokemon can scout for counters by using U-Turn.
Team Disadvantages:
-Two choice users, so prediction is a big part, and I still need to work on that.
- No Spinner. Fits with the reason above, since choice users have to switch out
-Lots of switching required to fix moves (Or stats in Latias's case with Draco Meteor)
-Heatran is the only one who can resist Ghost and Dark.
-No immunity to normal, so I can't really block rapid spin.
Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
Nature: Relaxed (-Spe, +Def)
240 HP / 216 Def / 52 SpA
~Earthquake
~Surf
~Hidden Power Electric
~Stealth Rock
Swampert was my last Pokemon I had to choose, and he happily found his way onto my team. In my opinion, one of the better leads to set up SR, because of the growing numbers of LeadGross and LeadTran, and Swampert can counter those variants not using Grass moves. In addition, Swampert provides me with a bulky pokemon that can counter the likes of Infernape, T-Tar, Aerodactyl, Gliscor, and a few other threats. HP Electric for the sake of countering Gyarados.
Latias @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid (-Atk, +Spe)
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
~Draco Meteor
~Surf
~Thunderbolt
~Recover
One of the harder hitters on my team, and basically my speedy response to the the likes of Bulky Waters and Fire types like Infernape and Heatran. Even on a neutral type matchup with Attack and defending Pokemon, Latias' high Special Attack when factored in with Stealth Rock and the Ability to outspeed quite a few threats with Timid nature allows her to be a destructive force on my team.
Gyarados @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Impish (-SpA, +Def)
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
~Waterfall
~Avalanche
~Rest
~Sleep Talk
A different Gyarados, mainly used for a needed status absorber. His attack may be lower than what I had hoped for, but at least he can still get the job done. Intimidate + 282 Defense allows him to be a good tank for physical attacks, and that's only helped further with his great HP and decent Special Defense. While I usually see Stone Edge as the way to go, I chose Avalanche for some dragon counter, but mostly for the likes of Breloom and Celebi, and I can shrug off any status effects with Rest + Sleep Talk.
Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
Nature: Impish (-SpA, +Def)
EVs: 240 HP / 156 Def / 76 SpD / 32 Spe
~Wish
~Body Slam
~Iron Head
~U-Turn
A variation of the Wish Support set, recommended by Flashstorm1. The main difference is the lack of a screen, because most members, barring Flygon , have some decent bulk on their hands. Sure, it still provides the Wish + U-Turn combo to switch out, but a 60% Paralysis chance from Body Slam allows pretty much all Non-Ghosts to be crippled, but allows Jirachi to do some Para-Flinch action with Iron Head. The 60% Paralysis can also help other Team members, since they are now pretty much guaranteed to outspeed most threats.
Flygon @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Naughty (-SpD, +Atk)
EVs: 252 Atk / 80 SpA / 176 Spe
~Earthquake
~Outrage
~Draco Meteor
~U-Turn
One of my two Revenge killers, alongside Heatran. I like the fact that he's immune to the common Electric and Ground type moves, so with enough prediction I can switch in. I'm pretty sure everyone knows the whole Earthquake + Outrage combo is of course used for STAB. I chose Draco Meteor, since I can defeat opposing Dragon Types without locking myself into Outrage, which I can't afford to do until way later in the battle. U-Turn goes great with this team, as each attack most likely to be done against Flygon (Ice/Dragon) is resisted by two other members.
Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
Nature: Naive (-SpD, +Spe)
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
~Fire Blast
~Earth Power
~Explosion
~Dragon Pulse
Not much to say about the standard ScarfTran, except he's pretty much going to be the one doing a lot of the later or weakened kills, before going out with Explosion if he has too, that is. Fire Blast over Flamethrower for raw power. Dragon Pulse allows me to still hit all the Dragons hard, except sacrificing some 4x weakness for the ability to hit Kingdra.
OU THREAT LIST (I'm not counting MOST revenge kills, just actual counters. If I posted Revenge Kills, it would look much better):
AZELF - Heatran
BRELOOM - Gyarados
CELEBI - Heatran, Flygon
DUGTRIO -
ELECTIVIRE - Swampert (Non HP Grass Variants)
EMPOLEON -
FLYGON - Gyarados, sorta.
GENGAR - Heatran, Jirachi
GLISCOR - Ice Attacks, Gyarados, Swampert
GYARADOS -
HEATRAN - Swampert, Latias, Gyarados
HERACROSS - Jirachi, Gyarados...sorta
INFERNAPE - Gyarados...sorta, Swampert(If I'm lucky), Latias
JIRACHI - Heatran
KINGDRA - Switch in Heatran on an outrage or Non-Water move, then Dragon Pulse.
LATIAS - Heatran...watch out for surf.
LUCARIO - Gyarados, Heatran...if Flygon U-Turns
MACHAMP - Gyarados...if champ doesn't have Thunderpunch/Stone Edge
MAGNEZONE - Swampert, Heatran, Latias
MAMOSWINE - Gyarados (Hope no Stone Edge)
METAGROSS - Swampert
NINJASK -
PORYGON-Z - Heatran can Revenge Kill it
RHYPERIOR - Swampert, Flygon
SALAMENCE - Gyarados
SCIZOR - Gyarados, Heatran
SNORLAX - I don't know, can Jirachi safely switch in to anything not Earthquake then just Drain Punch?
STARMIE - Latias
SUICUNE -
TYRANITAR - Switch in on anything NOT an Earthquake with Jirachi and Drain Punch its ass, or use Swampert
WEAVILE - Gyarados, Heatran
YANMEGA - Heatran
ZAPDOS - Flygon/Swampert, depends on which Hidden Power. Also Latias.
I will add more to this team as time goes on.
