Sugimori-"style" Pokemon

Luxrays shading is perfect...
noob tech ques: what is vectorising>_> ?

Well, I'm no expert in this, but to me vectorising is just taking a bitmap image and simply redrawing it as a vector image.

I'm sure Wikipedia could explain this a bit better.

Here's a comparison of bitmap and vector Blastoise:

Wow. I'd love to see a Jolteon in your style. Mainly because I love Jolteon.
Would you take a commission for a website?

I'm quite busy currently, with school and a couple other projects, so I don't have time to do work for a website, sorry.

Phew, it's been a while! I was looking through my files and I realized I'd drawn a Pokemon several months ago without showing it here. It is, of course, none other than Smogon's mascot:

KOFFING!

This one, more than the others I think, reminds me of a picture made by cutting and positioning different shapes of coloured paper. Is there a name for that?

Whoa all those all self-made?

Some of them could probably pass as the real thing xD

I like the Sceptile and the Electivire the most.

Collage it is!

As for "self-made", I wouldn't particularly call them that. I basically trace the shapes from Ken Sugimori's drawings and colour them in myself.

Thanks for the compliments!

Torterra is particularly well-done. Quilava could've probably used a couple more layers.

Really nice stuff overall!;)

Lucario, because I wanted to draw something, and out of the suggestions this is the one I felt like drawing. And I like him in Brawl. :)

Maybe when you're doing the GSC era you could opt to make them a little less shiny? I mean you are only using Ken's work for shapes anyway, right? The shading is all you, just taking nods from the way they were originally shaded. It doesn't seem like it would be too much of a jump to change the shading on those GSC pokes since he pretty much highlighted all of them with white, which translates to way too shiny.

On that note, Girafarig would be cool..

CasMat, thanks a lot for your input, I followed your advice and did a GSC Pokemon. This time I found myself playing around with and paying a lot closer attention to the shading and highlighting (usually I do these quite robotically), and as a result, well, I'll you guys judge how it turned out.

On that note, Girafarig:
