Correct. If you need those pokemon and are capable of trading, people can give you whatever you need. Just ask in the Simple Requests thread and somebody will surely give you what you're looking for. So if you post asking for, say, Torchic, somebody will likely give you one without asking for much (if anything) back.

Right, thanks. Now I just have to sort out my blasted Wi-Fi connection somehow, seeing as the DS appears to be lacking THAT particular setting.

Thanks again guys, I appreciate the input :)

Just to clarify, do we have to PM only a detailed idea for the Smog in order to be considered for an article, or do we have to have the entire rough draft done beforehand?

\Deadline for "ideas" of what you want to write about. You must contact Caelum, Tangerine, or TAY and get your idea approved. The idea can't be general...it must be detailed, with sketches of arguments and points that you will be considering.

Sounds like they want a "detailed idea." If you want a surefire answer, you should contact one of the those 3.

Do you have to complete the Underground Man's tests to talk to people underground? I can go on WiFi in Pokemon Centers but the WiFi indicator doesn't turn green when I'm underground...

2 Questions.

Would my Poke still be legit if I used an AR to give it PKRS?

If I used an AR to get to Arceus, Shaymin, or Darkrai, would they also be legit for trade?

Question 1: I'd say just try and get it from somebody rather than editing the file. That's just me.

Question 2: You have to say that you hacked the event, and most people will not accept the Arceus.

It would probably be best if you hacked Pokerus on another pokemon you did not plan to trade, and just used it to give Pokerus to everything else.

I know the questions I ask appear silly to some but I just have to know
Why is Garchomp and manaphy uber?
Wobbuffet I can understand but why these 2?

Since most Gliscor will usually be running a Jolly, Impish, or Adamant nature and just enough Speed EV's (216) to outrun Adamant (or Jolly) Lucario, Metagross should outspeed Gliscor after an Agility as long as it's running a minimum of 58 Speed EV's, which puts him at 318 Speed after an Agility. This allows Metagross to outrun all Gliscor that aren't Scarfed or hasn't had any stat boosts in Speed. Ice Punch will usually not OHKO Gliscor, but it will definitely 2HKO at all times. If Stealth Rock is down, then a KO can be caused after one hit. Earthquake shouldn't OHKO Metagross as long as Gliscor hasn't done any Swords Dances yet and Metagross is at reasonable health.

Thanks. I guess the best way is to just try it out and see how it fares myself in the team.

One last thing though... would a standard "mixgross" outspeed/ohko a bulky or defensive Rotom forme with shadow ball?

Garchomp was voted uber for several reasons, mainly because it had an almost guaranteed kill (swords dance, yache berry, sand veil and its great defences, resistance to SR and so on) and because it forced people to carry at least two counters just for it.
Manaphy is being tested at the moment on the suspect ladder, and I believe there are good chances that it could be voted OU.

From what I understand, things that were determined to be uber in stage 1-2 (unless otherwise stated) will not come back in stage 3?

I'm sure there was something like this somewhere, but where is a good place to EV for Speed and Special Attack in Pearl? I know a good place for Speed and Attack, and one for HP, but Speed and Special Attack is just lost on me.

For the special attack you can go to the old chateau in eterna forest, there you'll find only gastly (1 sp. atk EV) and haunter (2 sp. atk EV). For the speed, use the old rod and start fishing magikarp (1 speed EV) wherever you find water.

Lifted straight off google response.
Special Attack EV Training
So you have your mighty special sweeper in mind, but need to pump up it's Special Attack? Then go Special Attack EV training!
Gastly in the Old Chateau inside Eterna Forest give +1 Special Attack EV each, and if you put your GBA Game in the GBA slot whilst here, you could be lucky enough to spot a Haunter [+2 SAtk] or even a Gengar [+3 SAtk]. You can also battle Golducks outside the Resort Area by Surfing, giving +2 Special Attack EVs each.

Speed EV Training
Want to gain the upper hand in battle? Going first is about as important as how hard your attack hits, and can easily determine the outcome of a battle. Raticates and Fearows Northwest of the Fight Area [+2 Speed EVs each] Zubats [+1 Speed EV]/Golbats [+2 Speed EVs] in most caves. Starly on Route 201 are great early game spots in case you want to EV train something early on, giving out +1 Speed EV each.

Hope that helped.

I just got the card thing from the UK pokémon event for a Shaymin. I'm currently soft resetting for nature+ivs. Is there anything I can do to speed up the process, since I can't use synchronize for the nature lol XD?

No, sorry. You can't do nothing but soft-resetting and hoping. Good luck.

This is simply curiosity, but I was wondering if anyone knew the answer to this question.

Gliscor is the only flying type Pokemon that can use the move Dig. When a Pokemon uses Dig, its more vulnerable to Earthquake, that has double damage. So if a Gliscor uses Dig, will it get hit by Earthquake even though its a flying type?

Since the Power of any move will only go up to 255, and Explosion already has 250 (of course exceeds 255 when Life Orb is used), my question is, does the power after LO boost will be 250 * 1.3 or will it just be 255?

It sounds silly, but have a small party of 1 pokémon before talking to the guy and save facing the guy. Memorise the characteristic(s) you are looking for. Anything other than one of 6 characteristics means none of its IVs are 31s, so if you need max speed or something it can cut out a lot of time. Even 3 seconds from having a smaller party can end up improving your Shaymin. Say it took 15 seconds per reset, that's 20% better on average for the same timespan.

No, it won't be effected by Earthquake; the Ground immunity stays affect even when underground. The only time Gliscor can be hit by Ground attacks is when it Roosts against something slower than it, if Gravity is in effect, or if it's facing something with Mold Breaker and EQ.

Yes, Life Orb will affect the damage done, for the full 1.3x boost (Explosion actually has a net base power of 500, as it halves the opponent's Defense temporarily to get around that limit. Since Life Orb affects a Pokemon's stats, and doesn't directly alter a moves power, it also would bypass the 255 power cap in the same way).

No, it does not get hit by Earthquake or any other ground moves. (Ninjask can also know dig).

Life Orb doesn't exactly boost the power of the move, it boosts the overall damage (which has no cap). Attack stat x Base Power x Life Orb boost.

EDIT: you bastard. :P
