Beep Boop: Robopoke Stall! [RMT]

Hey guys, I am Robopoke and I'm new here to the forums! Please tell me if I have violated any rules while posting this team and I will fix them immediately! So here is the Stall Team I have been using for quite a while and it has been serving me well, however, therfe is always room for improvement I feel! So I will leave it up to the team raters I see here on Smgon to help me! Enjoy!

Hippowdon (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP/168 Def/88 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Slack Off
- Roar

Hippowdon is arguably the best lead on a stall team due to its amazing bulky and its ability to instantly set up sandstorn. With its massive HP and Defense stat, Hippowdon can take many hits from common leads such as Aerodactyl and the ever so common Metagross. Earthquake allows me to combat Tyranitar, Metgaross, Lucario, etc while prvovidng STAB. Ice Fang is my primary move against Dragon types such as Salamence who can sweep many teams, including mine easily. Slack Off is for the obvious choice of recovery and Roar allows me to phaze away threats such as CursePert who can easily set up on my team if I do not cripple it with Rotom's Trick.

Tentacruel)(M) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 252 HP/120 Def/136 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Toxic Spikes
- Knock Off
- Rest
- Surf

Tentacruel is the second user of entry hazards. Toxic Spikes will take its toll on opposing stall teams, making it easier for me to deal with them. tentacruel is also my main counter to MixApe, who can destroy my team easily if Tenta is gone. Surf is for STAB of course and Knock Off is over Rapid Spin because I have Forry using Rapid Spin so Knock off can be used to rid Pokemon of their items such as Leftovers making it easier for sandstorm damage and Toxic Spikes to killl them off. Rest allows Tenta to heal off any damage it has taken, allowing it to survive for longer periods of time.

Cradily (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Suction Cups
EVs: 252 HP/160 Def/96 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Recover
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Rock Slide

Cradily is a fun Pokemon to use in a sandstorm team since its Special Defense is bolstered greatly by sandtsrom due to cradily being a Rock type making it gain a 1.5 boost in its Special Defense. Under Sand, Cradily can take a myriad of Special Attacks from Pokemon as strong as Heatran, Suicune, Gengar, etc. With Recover, Cradily can easily heal any damage it has teken, making Cradily a very durable Pokemon! Stealth Rock is a great move since it limits the amount of times Salamence can come in and wreak some havoc on my team, same with Gyarados. Toxic lets me wear down walls such as Blissey, whom can be annoying to take out and Rock Slide is there for STAB!

Forretress (M) @ Shed Shell
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP/112 Atk/144 Def
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Rapid Spin
- Spikes
- Gyro Ball
- Explosion

Forry is the Pokemon that I go to set up SPikes and clear SR of the field so Dragonite can come in safely without taking prior damage. Forry also has good synergy with Dragonite since Dragonite resist Forry's main weakness to Fire while Forry resists Dragonites main weak to Ice. Gyro Ball is a good move on Forry since it gains STAB and with Forry's low Speed stat, it will hit Pokemon like gengar and incoming Azelf hard. Explosion allows me to go out with a bang once Forry has done evereything it was meant to do.

Dragonite (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 HP/60 Atk/196 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Roost

Dragonite is another fun Pokemon to use on stall teams since it cleans up nicely late game. Setting up DD's with Dragonite is not all that hard due to Dragonite's amazing durability and with the HP EV's and Roost, Dragonite can easily set up on most Pokemon. Thanks to Dragonite's good resistances, it can easily come in on locked Fighting, Bug, Water, etc attacks and start setting up. Earthquake allows Dragonite to kill Pokemon that resist Dragon Claw mainly Scizor and Heatran. Roost is there to heal any damage Dragonite teakes, making Dragonite a very durable Pokemon.

Rotom-h @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/100 Def/152 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Toxic
- Trick
- Shadow Ball
- Overheat

Here is the final member of my team, Rotom-h! Rotom-h is the Pokemon that saves me from being swept from the dangerous SD Luke, since I can OHKO with Overheat. Trick is excellent on Rotom since it cripples the ever so common Blissey switch-in, making it easier for my team to dispatch of it. Toxic is there to hit Pokeon immune to Toxic Spikes being layed down by tenta. Shadow ball lets me hit opposing Rotom for hard damage while providing STAB. Thunderbolt is my main offense against Gyarados, who is pretty troublesome.

So there it is! I will pretty much welcome any suggestions so do not be afraid to post if you have any ideas! Thanks for reading! Happy rating!

Your Dragonite is inferior to Salamence in every single way. Salamence can run the same set with identical stats, except with leftover EVs and a better ability. However, he seems very out of place to me, and I'd really suggest exchanging him with a Pokemon able to fill one of the useful stall roles you lack on this team, like Wish-passer, Aromatherapy/Heal Bell user, Perish Song phazer, etc.

Also, if you're going to run Scarf Rotom, make sure he has enough speed EVs to outrun a +1 Jolly max Speed Gyarados, and replace Toxic with Thunderbolt.

Finally, Rapid Spin beats out Knock off on Tentacruel, even with another user of it. Due to the ubiquity of Rotom-H, spinning can be difficult. Having two members capable of it makes it a lot easier. And if you don't run a Heal Bell/Aromatherapy user, you probably want to lose Rest for something more useful, like a secondary attack.

I suggest you drop Ice Fang on Hippowdon and go with Stealth Rock in its place. Cradily is probably not the best Pokemon to have Stealth Rock since Cradily is usually better off utilizing another move such as Earthquake/Seed Bomb to allow cradily to effectively handle specific threats more effeciently. Cradily could really use the coverage of an extra attack to get more more coverage on Heatran or Swampert depending on if you use Earthquke or Seed Bomb. Plus, it gives Cradily more useable PP when trying to stall out an opposing Pokemon. Getting Stealth Rock up right at the beginning of the match with Hippowdon means that you can start getting residual damage on dangerous threats such as Salamence and Gyarados straight away, instead of having to wait for an opportunity for Cradily to come in later on. With Roar, you will find you can deal with Salamence well enough. Now that Garchomp is gone, there is very little reason left to run Ice Fang on Hippowdon, so use Stealth rock instead.

Cradily is an amazing wall while in Sandstorm, however, I suggesting you go for the extra attacking move over Stealth Rock, like I've already mentioned. One Pokemon that gives Cradily some trouble is Scizor, a fairly common Pokemon in OU. Cradily cannot really stand up to Scizor, being weak to both its STAB attacks of U-Turn and Bullet Punch. I feel your team can use a little more insurance against against Scizor as it will be on the majority of teams you will be facing. This, and the fact that I really question your Dragonite's set and its value on your team. I feel Dragonite can be put to much more use with a certain set. This is why I recommend you change it to the following Dragonite set:

Dragonite @ Leftovers
Nature: Calm
EV's: 248 HP / 216 SpD / 44 Spe
Ability: Inner Focus
~ Dragon Pulse
~ Flamethrower
~ Roost
~ Heal Bell

This Dragonite will serve as a cleric/status absorber for your team. If your Hippowdon or Cradily get Toxiced or onflicted by any other status such as a Burn, they are just going to be dead weight on the team, not being able to wall anything really well since they will be getting worn down pretty fast by Toxic, meaning their walling capabilities will be significantly decreased. Heal Bell fixes that since it cures them of any status that they may be inflicted with. Heal Bell also lets you wake up Tentacruel from sleep after it has used Rest, meaning you won't have to give up something for Sleep Talk after all. Also, Tenta wont have to waste those two turns sleeping since Dragonite will be healing it. Dragon + Fire gets excellent coverage, hitting everything except Heatran for neutral damage. Since you have both Tentacruel and Cradily to deal with Heatran, Heatran is not much of a problem since Tenta and Cradily dispatch of Heatran effectively. Flamethrower also gets a big hit on the Steels that are immune to your Toxic, specifically Pokemon such as Metagross, Lucario, Scizor, etc.

Lastly, I feel you'll be better of investing in speed on Rotom, since without any Speed, what is the point of running the Choice Scarf? Without any investement in Speed, Rotom is not going to be outrunning many threats so that is why I am suggesting using some Speed. As of now, your Rotom reaches a total Speed stat of 312, meaning that even base 100s such as Salamence and Zapdos can outspeed it with a +speed nature. If you really want to use Rotom with a Scarf, use 252 HP / 152 Def / 104 Spe with the Bold nature. It's much better to focus most of your EVs into Rotom's physical defense, as this is what it is better at taking hits from. Cradily, Dragonite, and Tentacruel are all special based, and the majority of Rotom's useful resistances are coming from the physical spectrum, so this allows Rotom to last out a bit longer. The 104 Spe EVs allow it to outspeed base 110s and below, particularly Pokemon like Gengar, Latias, and Infernape, so you can hit them with Shadow Ball without having to take a hit yourself. Also, definitely go with Will-O-Wisp over Toxic on Rotom. Will-O-Wisp is needed in order to cripple incoming Tyranitar switch-ins, and when you switch out, Pursuit will do little to Rotom.

Wow, I did not expect to get that much of a helpful rate. Thanks dude :D! I like that Dragonite suggestion. I've seen a cleric Dragonite before and it worked out great from what I've seen. I think it will help my team significantly so I will most surely use it. I will also use SR on Hippowdon now, I dont know what I was thinking when I did not put it on him ._.!

Now, I am going to use Seed Bomb on Cradily because CursePert gives me trouble so that can help combat him. Thanks for that. I will also use WoW on Rotom like you said. Thanks for that rate! It was awesome.

Yeah, I know mence is 'better' than Dragonite but I prefer using Dragonite overall. he is more fun to use. Also, Bloo suggested using him as a cleric which I think is a great idea so I will be keeping Dragonite.

Yup, I'm convinced to use Speed on Rotom since you and Bloo suggested that. As for running two rapid spinners, I think that is a bit redundant so I'll stick with one =p

Thanks for the help guys!
