← [OU+UU] New Team [OU+UU] →

Well the last team that I threw together was not preforming the way that I wanted it to so I went back to the drawing board and created this team.

So here's the team at a glance

Mamoswine @ Focus Sash
Adamant - Snow Cloak
Ev: |4|252|XX|252|XX|XX|
  • Ice Shard
  • Earthquake
  • Stealth Rock
  • Endeavor
Comments: I really love leading with this beast, if im faster I'll set up stealth rocks, if I know im going to get KO'd I use endeavor and finish with ice shard. I have lots of options with this set which helps me deal with most of the common leads.

Jolteon @ Leftovers
Timid - Volt Absorb
EV Spread - |4|XX|252|252|XX|XX|
  • Charge Beam
  • Thunderbolt
  • Hidden Power [Grass]
  • Shadow Ball
Comments: I really like this set. Because Jolteon is so fast, he can come in on something close to death, Charge Beam, and get that 70% SpA boost. I might consider reducing SpA EVs and investing a little more in Hp to increase the little bulk that Jolteon has. Use Charge Beam once or twice, then sweep with the other 3 moves.

Scizor@ Choice Band
Adamant - Technician
EV Spread - |248|252|XX|8|XX|XX|
  • Bullet Punch
  • Superpower
  • U-Turn
  • Pursuit
Comments: He makes an effective revenge killer against Pokemon with bad defense such as Gengar and Alakazam. Im Not sure whether or not I like a more bulky scizor or the faster version...I could use some help with this one.

Salamence@ Life Orb
Rash - Intimidate
EV Spread - |XX|80|176|252|XX|XX|
  • Draco Meteor
  • Outrage
  • Earthquake
  • Fire Blast
Comments: Salamence does well for me every game and at least nets one kill before he dies. This is Classic Mixmence except with Rash instead of Mild because I don't want to get hit harder by Bullet Punch. Other than that it is your standard Mixmence.

Machamp @ Leftovers
Adament - No Gaurd
Ev Spread: |252|128|XX|128|XX|XX|
  • Bulk Up
  • Thunder Punch
  • Dynamic Punch
  • Stone Edge/Ice Punch
Comments: With Bulk Up, Machamp can be quite a threat to your opponent if their faster special sweepers, such as Azelf, Jirachi, and Togekiss, are out of play. DynamicPunch and Bulk Up go hand in hand because the possibility of your opponent being unable to attack you in their confusion buys me some time to set up with bu. I'm not sure about the last move anyone have any oppinions about it?

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Adament - Intimidate
Ev Spread: |156|108|96|126|XX|XX|
  • Waterfall
  • Dragon Dance
  • Stone Edge
  • Taunt
Comments: Paired with Jolteon this Bulky Gyara has been working great, im not sure about taunt though, im thinking about replacing it with stone edge

Heya. The team seems decent for the most part, but I did notice one mistake. Your Blastoise, if it's only running physical attacks, why did you give it a bold nature? It should be Impish if you want defense raised, and lower special attack. Hope I helped in the long run.

lol, wow thanks for pointing that out. I didn't even notice I did that

I assume your EV moveset is HP/Atk/Def/SAtk/Sdef/Spd.

In that case, why does your Mamo have 252 SAtk if he has no special attacking moves? Don't you mean 252 Spd?

Now your Salamence has 176 Def EVs.

This would be a lot easier if you would just follow the normal format (# Atk, # Spe) etc etc.

Well I just played like 10 games with it and only won like 5 idk why but it just doesnt seem to be working lol

Yes warrior I did change them lol

Hariyama and Blastoise just look weak and non-threatening. They might be annoying to the other guy, but it doesn't seem as if they can do any real damage; Hariyama's strongest attack is 60 BP, and Blastoise's strongest attack is a mere 40 BP.

Blastoise's spinning attempts are just going to get a Rotom form thrown in his face, and if you stay in to use Toxic, T-bolt will wreck you and seal Blastoise's fate. I think I'd just drop Blastoise entirely. On Hariyama, atleast give it Close Combat or Substitute + Focus Punch so it can dish out some actual damage.

ok what should I put in Blasoises's place, I still think I want a spinner...or mabey a rotom?

And what if I replace Hariyama with Machamp? Im going to try the sub punch combo first though

On Machamp, I suppose I would go with Ice Punch over Stone Edge, since it's your best option against Celebi, though you could go with Payback instead which does even more to Celebi, while also helping you against stuff like Gengar and Rotom. Keep in mind that if you go with Payback, you would lose coverage against stuff like Salamence (although he won't enjoy switching into Dynamic Punch and then taking a T-Punch anyway).

A problem I see is that you don't have a good Pokemon to absorb Fire attacks from the likes of Heatran. Your only Fire resist is Salamence, and with SR weakness, no defensive EVs, and a -SpD nature, he is only going to be able to switch in once, at best. After using up that one switch-in, scarf tran is going to have lots of fun with your team. I might suggest replacing Rotom with a bulky water-type; Rotom seems kind of redundant since Jolteon already has Shadow Ball and a Grass attack.

WJC thanks for the advice, im going to throw ice punch in there over stone edge. Rotom really is just serving me as a fill on this team, I had Suicuine in there but it just seemed like with having a bulky water in there my team had a large Celebi weakness after jolt is gone

What if I replace rotom with a bulky gyara?

That's certainly an option; BulkyGyara has alot more staying power than MixMence, especially if you run ResTalk. That double Electric weakness has nice synergy with Jolteon's Volt Absorb, too.
