RMT Pseudo Rain Dance

Aerodactyl (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock

My current favorite lead. Taunt + Stealth Rock is always nice. I rarely use RS and EQ, but in case my opponents lead is weak, I'll go ahead and use them until Focus Sash activates for Stealth Rock. If I keep him alive, I'll use him to rake in Thunders and TBolts for Jolteon.

Jolteon (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunder
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Signal Beam

Other than Thunder and Shadow Ball, I'm having a hard time for the other two. Signal Beam has proven to be pretty useless, as I've thought about slapping Yawn on it instead. Also, debating whether it's more logical to use TBolt over Thunder. Mid to late game, with Rain Dance in play, I tend to sweep at least 3 Pokemon if my setup works properly. However, as a solid choice, I've been debating whether I should just use TBolt instead. Help wanted here. :x

Kingdra (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 92 HP/252 Atk/164 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Rain Dance
- Waterfall
- Outrage
- Yawn

Usually one of my last switch-ins. With RD already set, Yawn offers nice support for sleep and forced switches. Not really weak against anything, but doesn't like Salamence without Rain Dance.

Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 148 HP/252 Spd/108 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Recover
- Reflect

Probably my most solid Pokemon on the team. The Reflect offers great support for my otherwise defensively weak team.

Tentacruel (M) @ Damp Rock
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 252 HP/120 Def/136 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Surf
- Toxic Spikes
- Rain Dance
- Rapid Spin

My Celebi and Rozerade counter who tend to ruin Latias with Leech Seed. Rain Dance for my Jolteon+Thunder sweep late game. Toxic Spikes seems a little redundant, but it's useful if I've already caught one Pokemon with a Yawn. Rapid Spin for chip damage from SR and TS.

Vaporeon (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 188 HP/252 Def/68 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Yawn
- Wish

My counter to other Rain Dance teams and provides nice support. I really like the Yawn + Wish combo. It's helpful for restoring my damaged Aerodactyl and Tentacruel late game as well as itself. It's really my only Salamence counter, which is usually enough unless Salamence has Dragon Dance.

So there you have it, my pseudo Rain Dance team. It's a very risky team, but it's nice to come off to late game sweeps. I've lost a total of 3 battles out of 20 with it, so it's playing pretty well. However, my main problems are Tyranitar, DDMence, and Blissey.

I don't really have enough bulk to deal with Tyranitar. Vaporean can do well one-on-one, but after that I start to struggle defensively and my Rain Dance option goes away. Latias can usually fair well on her own, but has a hard time with Dragon Dance versions.

DDMence...the version I emphasize. If I don't get a Yawn on that thing, I can't beat it. I have managed to get a Yawn on a few of them, but it doesn't stop it from coming back and doing the same thing. Only thing stopping it is if it comes in on the switch versus Latias + Dragon Pulse (I usually set up first) or Kingdra + Outrage (which I don't use too often)...also, if it's not the last Pokemon, why would it come in? Well, whatever. It hurts my team.

For Blissey, I usually lack Aerodactyl late game which is my main physical component aside from a RD Kingdra...both get ruined by TWave/Toxic.

Thanks for reading. All help is needed!

Try an Uxie lead in place of Aerodactly:
Rain Dance
Stealth Rock
U-turn
Psychic
item: Damp Rock
nature: Impish
EVs 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

Rain and Stealth Rock support, with U-turn allowing Pokemon like Jolteon and Kingdra to come into play safely. It provides much more team support than Aerodactyl, and can set up Rain later in the game thanks to its bulky. Use Vaporeon if you want to lure electric attacks to Jolteon.

Jolteon should have Baton Pass in place of Signal Beam. Its great for scouting for Jolteon's potential counters, sending in a Pokemon to deal with that counter, and helping you predict properly when you use Jolteon next time Jolteon. This is very helpful for dealing with Tyranitar.

Latias doesn't benefit from the rain, and I don't see what role she plays on the team other than providing a Ground immunity and a Grass resist. Replace her with Bronzong. Use the standard set, but with Rain Dance in place of Stealth Rock and Damp Rock in place of Leftovers. Here's another Rain Dance set upper, and it has Explosion to quickly send in a new Pokemon. It also helps check Salamence, especially in the Rain to half the damage of Fire attacks.

Vaporeon should have Protect in place of Yawn for reliable self-healing and HP Electric in place of Ice Beam to deal with Gyarados. Ice Beam isn't recommended, because Salamence can OHKO with a DD boosted LO Outrage.

Tentacruel makes a poor user of Rain Dance, as it is usually preoccupied with using Tspikes and Rapid Spin. Use Sludge Bomb to hit Water Pokemon for decent damage and for its 30% Poison rate. Uxie, Bronzong and Kingdra can already set it up.

Thanks for the suggestions. I made the switches you recommended. However, the battles seem to lag much longer than normal...and when they do, it tends to be in my opponents favor. Does Latias make that big of a difference? I originally used her to lure ground attacks on my Jolteon to set up CM + Dragon Pulse sweep or a Reflect.

With your suggestions, I tend to have Bronzong as my only Blissey counter, but my team is not capable of trapping Blissey too well unless I predict on the switch.
