In Depth

The SR+Boom Lead
490.png

**Cyndrus** Heatran @ Shucca Berry
-Naive-
6 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Stealth Rock
Earth Power
Fire Blast
Explosion

proves to be a more effective lead than Nape (who was here) and lasts WAY longer. sets up SR, and will most likely run to back up my dragons another day (or explode on some threat i can't really deal with) or if he has the advantage he can attack with a powerful STAB'd Fire Blast or Earth Power (which, as we all know, is for other Fires and such).

also, if i predict a Fire attack coming at Scizor i can get a welcome free switch in and power boost ;)

Nickname: honestly, i just thought of "Cinder" since he's Fire and went from there lol. he was the hardest to name

The Desert Powerhouse
dpmfa248.png

**Kydza** Tyranitar @ Choice Band
-Adamant-
176 HP / 252 Atk / 80 Spe
Earthquake
Crunch
Stone Edge
Aqua Tail

i've always loved TTar! he gets the Sandstorm going and hits HARD. EQ takes on most Steels, STAB Crunch handles the Ghosts/Psychics who stay in, STAB Stone Edge takes out any Flyers that may be floating about, and Aqua Tail gives him an option against grounds who would otherwise have an easy time and hits pretty hard on Steels that don't mind an EQ too.

Nickname: my Girlfriends 3 yr old niece actually named this beast. i asked her to spell a name and she said "K, Y, D.... S, and A!" (though i went with a "z"). she's one awesome lil kid <3

The Spec. Tank
dpffa380.png

**Dremir** Latias @ Leftovers
-Timid-
148 HP / 108 SpA / 252 Spe
Calm Mind
Recover
Dragon Pulse
Surf

she can handle basically anything on the Spec. side of things after a CM or 2. STAB Dragon Pulse hurts nearly everything while Surf is there for Steels. Recover helps her stay longer :D. Leftovers > Life Orb to null Sand damage.

her and Scizor compliment each others weaknesses very nicely coming in one after the other to absorb SE hits as NVE

Nickname: though pronouned "Drem-ear" i based it off the word "Dreamer" which i thought described Lati relitively well

The Speedy Dragon
dpmfsa330.png

**Ryde** Flygon @ Choice Scarf
-Adamant-
80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe
EQ
Outrage
Fire Punch
U-Turn

works in conjunction with Scizor to U-Turn + X-Scissor the opponent to rack up SR and SandStorm damage and/or if it's a Grass/Psychic type. EQ + Outrage provides an amazing combo for STABs and with Fire Punch is unresisted! EQ is here for all those Fire types i switch into for Scizor, Outrage easily Revenge Kills Dragons and can seriously dent anything not Physically bulky, Fire Punch > Fire Blast is personal pref. and still hits all those Steels that EQ doesn't bother.

and just like Lati, he resists everything Scizor is weak to (as does Scizor for him) so they make a good Revenge combo XP

Nickname: was thinking of random words and "Ride" reminded me of Flygon for some reason. probably due to him being a Scarfer

The End :D
dpmfa212.png

**Savvyr** Scizor @ Life Orb
-Adamant-
32 HP/ 252 Atk / 224 Spe
Bullet Punch
X-Scissor
Brick Break
Swords Dance

we all know how this works... without a CB Scizor is no doubt the teams main offense. after a single SD he can cause havoc. Bullet Punch is still his main attack thanks to Priority, Technician, and STAB. BB > Superpower to break screens and not lose my SD boosts however both hit BP Resists nicely, and X-Scissor gives me an option against Darks, Celebi and the like.

he's the centerpiece with the Scizor + Latias strategy AND the Scizor + Flygon strategy going on. i really like the raw power, synergy, and surprise these 3 have together and with SR + Sandstorm going on i find this team rather effective

Nickname: i really like this name. it can be said "Savior" or "Severe," both of which fit Scizor quite nicely ;)

The Bulky LawnMower
479-l.png

**Emion** Rotom-C @ Leftovers
-Bold-
252 HP / 76 Def / 180 Spe
T-Bolt
Shadow Ball
Leaf Storm
Will-O-Wisp

WAY more bulky than Gengar (who used to be here) can ever hope to be! still has STAB Shadow Ball and T-Bolt (though it gains STAB too), but gets Leaf Storm to bring extra coverage to the team (say bye bye Pert :D). WoW is just to cripple random Phy. Sweepers

he gives me a VERY good answer to most Phy. threats along with being an Anti-Spinner and providing some nice immunities

Nickname: honestly i thought of the whole "Emo lawns cut themselves" joke. if you say "Emo Lawn" fast w/o the "L" it sounds much like "Emion" :D

Team Building Process

i started off with Scizor since he's one of my all time fav pokes and i never got to use him very effectively back in 2nd Gen (i was only ~11 after all). plus, he's ruling the metagame along with Luke atm
dpmfa212.png

after seeing the Luke + Latias strategy i realized Lati (a 3rd Gen fav) can work the same way with Scizor too! so i decided to test it out and it was really effective
dpffa380.png
dpmfa212.png

after noticing i had 2 favs i racked my brain for more... within minutes i was looking up Flygon :). he, just like Lati, resists everything Scizor is weak to and vice vera, and he works completely different than her by acting as a Revenge Killer and scout. this brought a nice U-Turn strategy to the team as well
dpffa380.png
dpmfsa330.png
dpmfa212.png

now continuing the fav theme i looked through an OU list soon to find TTar, one who i had never personally gotten even back in GSC though i loved him so. with 2 of the 3 members immune to Sandstorm i decided to give him a shot. since Flygon and Scizor are Choicers i leaned toward the DD set, but with different EVs for more bulk
dpmfa248.png
dpffa380.png
dpmfsa330.png
dpmfa212.png

with the core of the team done i looked for a way to bring SR and a counter to my team. my first thought was LeadNape and Gengar, 2 more pokes i like decently...
395.png
dpmfa248.png
dpffa380.png
dpmfsa330.png
dpmfa212.png
94.png

these 2 didn't stand up to their tasks however. Nape has always been too frail in my eyes and Gengar never lasted long with LO + Sandstorm so i looked to replace them. i noticed how everyone was on a "ScarfTran is amazing" rave awhile back and looked into him to find the effective SR Lead set and it worked better than Nape while still giving me a Fire attack besides Flygon and an immunity to Fire attacks coming at Scizor

then i looked for others Ghosts instead of Gengar to give me an option for Fighting attacks aimed at TTar. Rotom-H came to mind since i had recently looked into him as a Trick Scarfer. then i saw Rotom-C: all the bulk of Rotom-H but with Leaf Storm, which he can easily come in on Ground/Rock EQ users and O/2HKO with ^_^. he was a plain out more bulky, anti-Ground/Fighting supporter i was looking for

and now here's the team in its' current line up: LeadTran, CBTar, CMLati, ScarfGon, SDScizor, and Phy. Tank Rotom-C

well there you have it, my new (more complete) team. hopefully this thread will provide better response than the other seeing as i put way more effort into it lol. well i guess it's time to hate/rate/steal ^_^

i ran a bulky set on rotom, but the I tried himas a choice scarf tricker.... I'll run him that way from now on. He really helps deal with luca and scizor at the same time simply by being either resistant or immune to their priority moves and outspeeding w/ hidden power fire both of which can really put a dent in this team otherwise.

Definitely put WoW on Rotom, it's too useful to cripple TTars which come in to pursuit it. Also note that if this is a WiFi team, you can't use the rotom formes on WIFi.

DDTar has hard times nowadays with BP Scizor being everywhere, since you can only counter Scizor with Rotom, that could be a problem when you attempt to sweep. If you don't want to change your team, consider adding a babiri berry (steel resist) on your TTar.
Otherwise, consider inserting Magnezone somewhere, DDTTar and Magnezone are a great combo, when Scizor comes in to revenge your TTar, switch in Magnezone and kill it while it's usually locked into a 4x resisted BP.
Magnezone would also help with Skarmory, which seems problematic for your team considering that Heatran is a suicide lead.

Hope this helps.

Glancing over your team I noticed some strange EV choices. First, 80 speed isn't enough for a DD TTar. I would suggest running at least 116 to put you at 280 after one DD, letting you outrun neutral Lucario and other base 90's. From there you could bump it up a few points to outrun things that try to outrun Lucario by a point or two, which is plenty (Gliscor and some Salamence come to mind), or as high as max speed, depending on how much bulk you are willing to give up.

For your Rotom, if you change the nature to Bold and use 64 defense EV's and 180 speed EV's, you get the same stat totals but with 12 EV's left over. A positive nature boosts the stat by 10%, so boosting a nature that has a higher base will result in more stat points. Since the speed you were shooting for (253) can be reached with a neutral nature, it is better to boost the higher defense stat so that you have 12 EV's left to put wherever.

@Burt: i know, i love the Scarf Rotom sets <3. however my friends usually don't have many set up pokes or walls. they shoot for full offensive teams so Tricking a Scarf may get me screwed over... plus i'm too impatient to get HP in game lol

@Haunter: seriously? they don't work on Wi-Fi O.o? well that's dumb... any replacement ideas? (am i back to Gengar? lol)

actually, since this will mostly go against my friends i don't really fear BP Scizor. none of my 3 poke playing friends even know Scizor gained BP in Platinum ;)

@Urza: wow i didn't realize any of that. your changes were made... any idea on Leftovers or Life Orb on TTar?

@Haunter: seriously? they don't work on Wi-Fi O.o? well that's dumb... any replacement ideas? (am i back to Gengar? lol)

Yes, sadly Rotom formes don't work over WiFi unless you're using an AR code to enable their use.
If you still want a bulky ghost type, use the standard Dusknoir:

Dusknoir@leftovers
nature: impish
EVs: 252 hp\ 252 def\ 4 sdef
-WoW
-pain split
-fire punch
-earthquake\ ice punch

this pokemon will help your team dealing with Scizor and Heracross, hence fire punch, EQ is for Heatran which will often switch in hoping for a flash fire boost.

People don't realise that this team is similar Jibaku's (who's is a good team btw) and ignore it cause its from a relative unknown. Not too bad but a few fixes.

Firstly, I think there is an AR code out there that fixes the Rotom glitch on WiFi, if not just run Dusknoir/Spiritomb and save the Rotom for shoddy.

Secondly, as I assume that your Heatran dies earlygame meaning it doesn't sponge Outrage (its 2HKOed regardless), your team is hurt badly by DDmence. Scizor can usually revenge it, but Scizor (or Flygon) is what it usually sets up on so you lose a pokemon in the process, relying on the easily walled Bullet Punch to make you even more of setup bait for something like Empoleon, who outspeeds Flygon with his current spread. So first fix is to definitely make Flygon 252/252 Adamant, so that at least you have a chance of tying with Once DD'ed Mence.

You're trying to use Latias as Pursuit-bait, but so what? Scizor comes in and U-Turns as they switch to a counter, or Ttar is forced to DD early game, and is forced out by by anything with even average speed due to your EV's, or forced out by Scizor. You just wasted your Latias and nothing can switch into Infernape and stuff anymore. If you're intent on using Latias as bait, then use something that can net you more of an advantage. Frankly, I suggest a Jolly Life Orb Gyarados over Rotom as well as a Swords Dance Scizor over your current one. Firstly, Gyara gives you your Ground/Fighting resist as well as giving you a bit more of a chance against Lucario. Secondly, it lures out stuff like Zapdos and Bulky Gyarados and beats them, which would ruin your chances of a Scizor sweep. It also gives you a secondary Infernape switch in (I believe in prophylaxis in teams like this) which is always handy. SD Scizor also stops the dangerous SDLuke from setting up on a Pursuit of your own.

It can still set up on Flygon though, so I recommend actually going the route of Scarfrachi. Iron Head/Fire Punch/Ice Punch are all pretty much needed for Flinch/Luke/Mence respectively, but the last slot is up to you. If you're having trouble with stall, use Trick. Otherwise, use U-Turn. You may have an extra fire weak but with your own Heatran, Gyarados, Latias and Tyranitar providing fire resists, Heatran/Infernape shouldn't bother you too much. Speaking of Tyranitar, that spread is awful for sweeping. Switch sets and turn it into a CB version (seeing as you now have something to stop Luke and friends) or an Expert Belt mixed version. You are not going to be outspeeding much with no speed, even with Dragon Dance, so if you wish to keep it bump up your speed to Jolly 252/252. LO can still be used with Crunch/Stone Edge/Aqua Tail, or if you're afraid of Scizor you can run Fire Punch > Aqua Tail @ Babiri (Steel Resist) Berry. I'd honestly recommend an Expert Belt set though with Ice Beam and Fire Blast over the Ddancer.. What that does is feign a Choice Band, inviting Hippowdon/Skarmory to switch in, when you easily 2HKO (possibly OHKO skarm, I forgot) them both. They are both big Scizor counters so this will give you an easier time sweeping with him lategame, as well as give Jirachi more space to breathe.

Sorry if it feels like I'm not making your team your own anymore, it just has a lot of potential so I wanted to give my thoughts to make it even more solid

In short:
Swords Dance Scizor > CB Scizor (Bulky or offensive)
Jolly LO Gyarados > Rotom
Choice Scarf Jirachi > Flygon.
Expert Belt Tyranitar (Crunch/Earthquake/Ice Beam/Fire Blast) > DDTtar.

Hope I helped, I spent awhile typing that up.

@Haunter & MS: there's an AR code? wonderful (my lil bro recently got one)... but do both players need to be using this or just the one how has the Rotom-A?

@MS: that's the amazing rate i've been waiting for :). i see what you mean about Scizor, Lati, and TTar. i was actually thinking of going with SD Scizor and CBTar anyway... and i'll def give LO Gyara a try over Rotom-C (especially if i can't get him to battle friends). i'm gonna have to stick with Flygon here rather then Jirachi though. Flygon is on my top fav list (especially the shiny one lol) and hasn't really failed me yet, but if he ever feels less useful Scarfachi sounds really good.

EDIT: also, i prefer this EV spread as well for a tiny bit more bulk due to Sandstorm (and my friends won't have an effective version or a DDMence [aka any of the standards from here]), and CBTar > EBTar simply because my friends aren't that smart sadly lmao

i found the Alt Forms on Wi-Fi AR code and it works :). still need to test Gyara over Rotom-C, however atm i'm leaning toward Rotom-C just cuz he's a lawnmower and i'll be the only one with him on Wi-Fi around here :P

i think the team is finally complete!!!! :3

few last updates:
- TTar has EQ > Pursuit. i was being lazy and using a DD Larvitar i hatched in '07 anyway so Pursuit would be annoying since it was an Egg Move... plus my friends aren't exactly the smartest and most competitive at poke so i don't think it'll hurt me too much :)

-Decided to keep Rotom-C. got him to work, plus i already had a Rotom ready for this. i really like his bulk, coverage, and immunities too... and he's a freakin Lawn Mower! how more random can ya get?! lol

- Nickname origins. added little descriptions of why they are named what they are. why did i do this? because i'm bored lol

any final comments/suggestions?
