okay, so my team in Platinum needs quite a bit of work, and I was wondering if you could help me. Please note that me and my friends play without really caring about the tier list (besides ubers), so please, do not say that UUs do not work. I will also try to be more descriptive! Anyways, onto the team:
Team at a Glance:
The Battle Plan:
13375P34K The Weavile
Gender: Male
Nature: Jolly
Item: Life Orb
EVs: 252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 6 HP
Moves:
Taunt
Pursuit
Night Slash
Ice Punch
Now, I know Weavile leads normally don't work well, but remember, I play mostly play with a specific group of friends, so it works. This Weavile works really well as a lead in the small group of friends I play with. the general strategy is to send it out and then use Taunt or Pursuit, depending on what my opponent's lead is. Generally, I Taunt things like Hypnosis leads and Pursuit anything that is threatened by leadvile. After that, Ice Punch and Night Slash are the main forms of attack, as both are powerful STAB moves and Ice Punch provides good coverage.
Celebi the Celebi
Gender: Unknown
Nature: Modest
Item: Salac Berry
EVs: 252 Sp. A/ 126 Spe/ 126 Sp. D/ 6 HP
Moves:
Energy Ball
Calm Mind
Psychic
Baton Pass
This Celebi works well as both a special sweeper and a baton passer. The general plan for Celebi is to Calm Mind up, and then either use Psychic or Energy Ball as a form of attack. Both attacking moves provide decent coverage. If anything threatening comes out on Celebi, she then just Baton Passes the Calm Mind(s) to one of its teammates. Also, Celebi is my favourite pokemon, so it, of course, always has a spot on my team.
Falcopunch the Infernape
Gender: Male
Nature: Quiet
Item: Salac Berry
EVs: 252 Sp. A/ 126 Atk/ 126 Spe/ 6 HP
Moves:
Flamethrower
Close Combat
U-Turn
Grass Knot
Mixape does wonders for this team. I usually send him in as a late game sweeper, but he also works well early game to KO a few. He provides great coverage and great support for the rest of the team, and is able to deal with quite a few of their weaknesses. Grass Knot is on this set for Bulky Waters, and U-Turn for scouting. Flamethrower and Close Combat for powerful STAB attacks. Meh, may not be standard, but it works.
Mana the Mantine
Gender: Female
Nature: Sassy
EVs: 252 Sp. A/ 252 Sp. D/ 6 HP
Moves:
Surf
Ice Beam
Agility
Confuse Ray
Now, I know what you're thinking: "Mantine? You must be crazy" well, in the group I play with, she's beastly. The general plan is to use Agility for the first few turns, and then sweep for the rest, Confuse Raying anything that could be a threat. I know Mantine is one of the more "mediocre" of the bunch, but I like Mantine, so I use it.
Amp the Raichu
Gender: Male
Nature: Jolly
Item: Leftovers
EVs: 252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 6 HP
Moves:
Volt Tackle
Focus Punch
Light Screen
Substitute
That's right, the Electric mouse still exists. When I found out Raichu got Focus Punch, I had to make a SubPunch set, just because it is unusual and actually quite good. Obviously, we begin by subbing up, and then either Focus Punching or Volt Tackling. Light Screen is there to help the team with a Special Defense boost, and may also improve his longevity a bit.
Mr. Roboto the Metagross
Gender: Unknown
Nature: Adamant
Item: Muscle Band
EVs: 252 Atk/ 126 Def/ 126 HP/ 6 Spe
Moves:
Bullet Punch
Meteor Mash
Ice Punch
Earthquake
Good ole' Metagross, always up to his bad assery. He is quite the beast on the battlefield, fielding both good offensive and defensive capabilities. The general plan is to send him out, and begin the beastlyness. Bullet Punch is a good STAB priority move and really helps against faster enemies. Meteor mash is another great STAB move with the chance to boost his already good Attack. Ice Punch is there to help against Ground types, something that really threatens Metagross. Earthquake is on because, well, its Earthquake. It provides great coverage for the team.
Well, there it is, it is a good team, but it could be better. I hope you can help me! Thanks and bye!
EDIT: hope I added enough description, if not, please tell me!
