OU: Calm Minding

The original Idea for this team was to pass calm minds from celebi to powerful special sweepers, in a physically based metagame, once blissey is removed, special sweepers can reek havoc.

Uxie: Leftovers
Impish
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

U-Turn
Stealth Rock
Yawn
Protect

Uxie as a lead deserves far more credit than he deserves, with his magnificent defences he rarely fails to yawn/stealth rock the opposing lead.
After he yawns, he then U-turns out to either celebi if they stay and fall asleep, or the appropriate counter if they switch. With his large HP, he can continually return to battle and perform this strategy until he dies from residual damage. Protect is good to stall for leftovers recovery, scout choice users, or catch exploding suicide leads.

251.png

Celebi: Leftovers
Timid
252 HP / 80 Def / 176 Spe

Calm Mind
Baton Pass
Grass Knot
Recover

The core of the team, Celebi does a fantastic job, with a timid nature, it is a rare occasion where it cannot baton pass before it is hit by an attack, bug moves can be dodged straight to Scizor or Swampert, and fire to Heatran or Swampy.

260.png

Swampert: Leftovers
Bold
240 HP / 216 Def / 52 SpA

Earth Power
Surf
Ice Beam
Roar

Swampert is as reliable a pokemon as ever, this is a fairly standard set, apart from the fact that I have exchanged Earthquake for Earth Power, this is because I often find myself Calm Mind passing to Swampert, and after 2 or 3 CMinds Earth Power outdamages Earthquake even against Blissey.

490.png

Heatran: Leftovers
Modest
252 SpA / 4 HP / 252 Spe

Substitute
Overheat
Earth Power
Hidden Power (Ice)

BluffTran, more common as a set now than it used to be, and with the declining popularity of ScarfTran, slightly less effective, but it still does its Job as well as it always has.

Alakazam: Lum Berry
Timid
252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HP

Psychic
Shadow Ball
Signal Beam
Hidden Power (Fighting)

This is the most common recipient of Calm Minds from Celebi, with its blistering speed it finds it quite easy to sweep, and its Lum Berry allows me to BP it in on status which I find very useful. Personally I consider Focus Blast to be too unreliable for my tastes, which is why I use Hidden Power.

212.png

Scizor: Choice Band
Adamant
252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe

Bullet Punch
Pursuit
SuperPower
U-Turn

Oh no, its choice band scizor, who does this guy think he is!! Well, i'll tell you, choice band scizor fulfills one of the most important roles in my team, killing Blissey! With good prediction I can pursuit a switch, or superpower if it stays in. Oof, no more Blissey.

Ok i ran a pretty similar team to this way back and it was pretty succesful. Ammendments in bold.

This is a good lead for this team.

Celebi: Leftovers
Timid

Calm Mind
Baton Pass
Grass Knot
Recover

The core of the team, Celebi does a fantastic job, with a timid nature, it is a rare occasion where it cannot baton pass before it is hit by an attack, bug moves can be dodged straight to Scizor or Swampert, and fire to Heatran or Swampy.

Again this is crucial and probably the perfect pokemon for this team.

Swampert is a good choice here it helps you out with TTar and Stone Edge. I suggest you keep EQ though instead of EP just because it means you have a much easier time against Tyranitar.

Heatran: Leftovers
Modest
252 SpA / 4 HP / 252 Spe

Substitute
Fire Blast/Flamethrower
Earth Power
Hidden Power (Ice)

BluffTran, more common as a set now than it used to be, and with the declining popularity of ScarfTran, slightly less effective, but it still does its Job as well as it always has.

Overheat is only going to slash your attack power and with the CM boosts this is not a good idea. You might want to consider a bulkier set more HP investment.

This is the third psychic on the team and as such has poor synergy with Celebi not to mention it barely take hit well. It also still gets beaten by Blissey. I suggest you change this to a Gengar and run Substitute after a couple of CMs you will even beat blissey. Due to the fact you can sub as it fails to break yours, you can take advantage of the flawless coverage of STAB Ghost, Fighting. hp fire can be used to eradicate a Scizor looking for a kill, provided you are behind a sub. 110 is enough to outpace infernape which may otherwise cause this team problems.

Its no surprise this is the no. one used pokemon and it is a great option on this team.

Congratulations on this team its a really cool concept good luck with it.

Well, I tried it out for you (no, its not stealing, aura cant use shoddy during weekdays), and whilst its a good team, it doesnt really fit my style, so I didnt do too well with it -.-;;

problems i had:
blissey - scizor is too obvious a counter for it, and its impossible to just "wear it down"
opposing heatrans - outspeed scizor, and not much likes taking fireblasts, apart from your heatran, who is weak to earth power. The only real hope is to pass a CM to swampy, which is next to impossible when scarftran outspeeds celebi.
scizor - you have... heatran, who its really a counter seeing as most sets are SD, BP, pursuit and superpower/brick break.

Definitely switch zam, he was pretty useless. Overall the idea of the teams pretty good, though.

Looking at the above comments, it looks to me like the quick fix to your troubles is a new lead:

Roserade!
Focus Sash
Natural Cure
Timid
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Moveset
~ Sleep Powder
~ Toxic Spikes
~ Grass Knot / Leaf Storm
~ Hidden Power Fire

Yes, Uxie is a great lead, but I think Roserade fits your team better. Look, no one has a sleep absorber on their teams anymore. Sleep Powder, then, is nearly guaranteed setup. Get those Tspikes down and you can say "GG Bliss."
To compliment this, put SR > Roar on Swampert (by the way, drop EP for EQ.)

And to replace Alakazam, then, you need another physical sweeper quite badly. I'd say throw in Gyarados or Salamence, DD either way. You need physical power.

And LO Recover Latias, Dragon Pulse/Ice Beam/Tbolt or something thereabouts is always a great option for a receiver.

First off, I'd like to mention that I really love calm minding. All my teams have 1-2 pokes with calm mind!

Now, onto your team:

As far as the major threats are concerned, you have the majority covered, but you still have a huge Lucario weakness. If Lucario switches in on Celebi and SD's (don't doubt this), it could very well be game over as your team will get 6-0ed.

Another issue with this team is the fact that I don't see what Celebi will passing to for the sweep besides Alakazam. Heatran is rather slow and won't be pulling off a sweep with his common weaknesses. Alakazam shares the psychic typing with celebi and is thus not a great recipient. It also lacks the physical defense to switch on that type of attack either. Your particular swampert is definitely not a good recipient imo. Lastly, I don't see how you plan to remove Blissey. Scizor pursuit isn't completely stopping it. Also, if Blissey stays in and Flamethrowers your Scizor, then it can easily Softboiled and wall your "sweepers".

I was all set to suggest changing Heatran, but it covers Rotom and Scizor, so let's not go in that route. I'd put Explosion over Substitute or Hidden Power Ice though. This helps with stall as when you baton pass to heatran, they'll most likely bring in blissey against whom you explode on.This opens a sweep for something else. Also, Flamethrower over Overheat to avoid counterproductivity.

I'd replace Alakazam for Zapdos. This not only checks Lucario, but makes an awesome recipient and sweeper. I'd go with Leftovers so you can handle Infernape without resorting to Uxie to Yawn it. Not to mention that Zapdos doesn't get 1HKOd by Scizor or Metagross priority like Alakazam does.

If you also want insurance against Infernape, then switch Swampert for Suicune. If you choose to give it Rest instead of Calm Mind since you expect Celebi to do that for you, then you can beat most Blisseys with that Suicune alone. (you'll need a crit. or PP stall it though) Suicune handles the stuff Swampert was handling anyways. CB Scizor is enough insurance for Tyranitar imo.

Other than that, the team looks pretty solid! Hope my suggestions are of some help.
