Okay, this only happens on one of my computers, a Windows laptop specifically.

When I select a move, it'll continuously select the move about every second until I 4 moves are selected The next box will then do the same thing. The problem is that it doesn't unselect a move, merely somehow selects it twice. So to me, 3 boxes may be checked, but I can't select another one. If I try to save and use the team, it'll say that I can't use the team, since whatever Pokemon has a move selected twice.

I can avoid the glitch, but the process is rather annoying. I select 4 moves as fast as I can. Usually, I'll only get 3. Then I unselect a move, reselect it, and select another move as fast as I can. If that doesn't work, that means that move is only selected once. So then I try the next move. And then the next.

It's really annoying. I'm not the only one with this problem. A couple months ago, I helped someone out with this same problem, but that's the only other person I've seen with it.

Any ideas why this happens? (So much for a "simple question"?)

My Shoddy freezes whenever I try to log into the Smogon server (havn't tried others) and on the rare occasions when it does open it will never send my moves in a battle and so I lose on time. Any Ideas why this is?

How can I make a server to play on my local network?

I would recommend you not to make any servers atm, since they started to make Shoddy Battle 2. If you can't wait till then here:
How to make a server

Yeah this usually happens when there are A LOT of people on the server, iirc, when its 400+ the server tends to lag a lot or when you're trying to log in.

If you're taking along time to move in a battle it may because certain pregrams slow down the net/computer like Limewire(or any software that you can download stuff with), Utorrent, or loading of videos from Youtube and other video sites. So I may advise you to close those programs while using shoddy, Or you can trying updating your java client.

When I try to install Shoddy Battle I get the message: "Unable to launch the application."

Anyone know how to fix this issue? I've already installed Java, so that's not the problem.
Maybe you just need to try updating your Java or maybe try re-installing Shoddy Battle.

The only thing I can advise is try to get a more recent version of Java

I just downloaded shoddy a couple days ago, and for some reason (starting last night and today) I have been able to battle anyone.

I will press accept, and then nothing will happen.

Any help?

I'm having a problem. I have a mac, and when I open up shoddy i get a message that says "Unable to Launch Application" and this:

Code:
JNLParseException[ Could not parse launch file. Error at line 0.]
	at com.sun.javaws.jnl.XMLFormat.parse(XMLFormat.java:51)
	at com.sun.javaws.jnl.LaunchDescFactory.buildDescriptor(LaunchDescFactory.java:52)

This happened a bit back, and i got it to work again by uninstalling and reinstalling both Java and Shoddy. The only problem is that Java doesn't seem to need an upgrade, and I can't access shoddybattle.com (i get redirected to google.com.) Any help would be much appreciated.

Do they challenge you to a random battle or do you? Because random battles doesn't tend to work often, maybe you should should try building a team(if you don't have one) and load it when someone challenges you.

For people having the "Parse error on line 0" problem, here are some things you might want to try (any of the steps might fix it, you don't have to do all of them before trying)
1)Downloading with a different browser
2)Instead of doing "Open", save the jnlp file first. Then, double click to open it. If it gets the same error, trying opening the jnlp file with a text editor and check the contents
3)Try running through the command line using the command
Code:
javaws http://shoddybattle.com/client/shoddybattle.php
at a command line 4)Try clearing your java cache

How exactly do I make my RBY party in Shoddy? I tried running it yesterday, and I has alot of fun with it on 4th Gen, however I can't seem to test my 1st Gen parties well against 4th generation movesets and Pokemon.

This happens with me too on my macbook. I just choose the tools->"export to text" option, and I can see which of the moves is duplicated. Don't know why it happens, but it does...unchecking whichever move was duplicated only removes one copy and then I can click a third/fourth move while keeping the one which previously had two copies.

When I re-load my team later on in the editor, though, all the moves that the pokemon haves are properly checked.

Regardless of what browser I use i can't get on shoddybattle.com. Also how do you do 3 and 4 (on a mac)?

Shoddy Battle only supports 4th generation for now (probably forever)

Ok I have the "Error at Line 0" message, and tried clearing the Java Cache (incidentally it said it expired on May 9, 2009), still not working. Also I can't get on shoddybattle.com to save it. I opened it in Text Edit and got this:
Code:

but I'm not exactly sure what I should be looking for. Any sort of help is always appreciated :)

That's what should be there. If you try to open that and it still doesn't work, something must be messed up with java, because the error doesnt make any sense

That's probably the reason, but I can't see any reason why you can't get to shoddybattle.com. It really doesn't make any sense unless you have some sort of web filter thing

Regular battles don't work. And my team doesn't change when i select a new one.

He means how did somebody get a 3000+ rating. Either they cheated or are really, really good.

EDIT: if they weren't on the leaderboard a few minutes before, it's kinda obvious they cheated.....

OK I got a friend to transfer me their new version of java (same version, but i know theirs works), and it still doesn't work. this is the error message that goes with the Error at line 0 thing:
Code:
MissingFieldException[ The following required field is missing from the launch file: <jnlp>(<application-desc>|<applet-desc>|<installer-desc>|<component-desc>)]
Yeah, still no idea what this means...
