Hi everybody, I just joined Smogon! I've been browsing smogon for a few months, and i finally got internet on my computer, so I thought, "well, I might as well join shoddy while i'm at it!" I made this team and has had reasonable success, but it's not perfect. That's where you guys come in! So the name Walmart...I really dont know. Ran out of ideas, and this team kinda has everything. So here i go!
Team at a glance:
Crobat @ Leftovers
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 124 HP/132 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Brave Bird
- Taunt
- U-turn
- Roost
At first I was kinda sceptical on a crobat lead. It was actually suggested to me from a battler on shoddy, and i thought, eh what the heck. I was pleasantly surprised! It works wonders on fake out leads due to inner focus, taunts slow...and well even fast leads, u-turn for scouting and Brave Bird for infernape and breloom for the OHKO. Leftovers for a reliable, well kinda source of recovery from heavy stealth rock damage if i switch it back in.
Gyarados @ Liechi Berry
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Bounce
SubBounce gyra. I am in love with this set. Come in on something that doesnt like gyrados (for example metagross or heatran) and get a sub up. Dragon dance until the sub breaks, rinse and repeat until liechi comes in. Then, prepare to sweep. I dont have any calculations, but this gyrados has swept entire teams. It has enough power to take over anything, well, genrally at least.
Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 188 HP/252 Def/68 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Wish
- Protect
- Surf
- Hidden Power [Electric]
I needed some general bulk on my team, and it came down to suicune or vapy. I find suicune not as good because of a lack of recovery move, and i love wish cause it can heal anybody, so vaporeon it was. Protect + Wish scouts and heals, Hidden Power Electric is great because my team is somewhat DD Gyrados weak but vapy is a great counter, but im thinking about switching it out for toxic. It just seems to be a better choice if it comes to stalling.
Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP/36 Spd/224 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Roost
- Heat Wave
- Hidden Power [Grass]
So with vaporeon's physical bulk i figured i needed some special bulk, and some power too. Then i stumbled upon zapdos. I run the specially bulky set and with good signs. Thunderbolt for a general but powerful STAB, Heat Wave is great for all the steels and bugs running around, and HP grass because of swampert. Roost is a great recovery move, but gotta be careful when i roost while i'm facing a rhyperior locked into earthquake... >.> (i.e. my most embarasing moment on shoddy ever)
Latias @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EV's: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
-Draco Meteor
-Surf
-Dragon Pulse
-Trick
Wow, Latias really works wonders. She is fast enough to outspeed DD Mences which can be a problem for this team, and causes major damage with the rest of her moves. Anybody whose played her knows how she plays, no really need for explanation.
Gengar @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Fire]
And the speedy little beast. This is my main counter for all the new rotom forms that it seems every team has. Sub if i see a will o wisp comming, or just attack if not. Shadow Ball will badly hurt anything even walls due to its SDef drop sometimes. Focus Blast for heatran and tyranitar. HP fire for any steels not named scizor cause bullet punch will OHKO.
So that's my team. I know some of you are thinking, hey, he got all of his movesets off smogon... Well, they're on there for a reason, they actaually work! The only problems i have seen for this team is that it has no priority moves and it is kinda DD Gyrados weak.... Thanks in advance for any suggestions you guys have!
