Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I'm going to try and catch a shiny Giratina. I'm in the Calibration phase. Do I need to reset my DS's clock to the same time everytime I do it to try and find my range of delays? Also how many times should I SR to find my range of delays? I have my seconds already(14).

No and about 10 times should be fine. If your results are wide spread, as in >10 range with high difference in numbers, do more. If they stay within like 618-628 or something like that it's fine.
 
Is Dialaga frame one in both Platinum and Diamond, or is that just one of them? I'm about to go for a shiny and plat, so I'd like to plan accordingly. I'll do a test before, just to make sure.
 
What frame is Giratina on in Diamond? Also so far my delays are 620,628,629, and 631. I did get a 621 and 632, but the seconds where 13 instead of 14. I think this happens because my DS is a millisecond behind my external clock. I'm going to fix that now.

It is frame 1 like the OP says. Also, do more tests as it it clear when going fast, you get 620/621 but going slower gets 630s.
 
Just got another 13 with delay of 620.

Should I try and slow down just a tad to get 14 seconds?

Uhh... Just got delay of 620 with 14 seconds.

Delay of 636 with 14 seconds. This isn't looking good to me. It ranges from 620 to 636.

Lightning can you help me here?

Got a 14 with 623.

I'm just going to start over again and record a new set of ten.
 
Are you having a similar amount of evens and odds? If so, that can be a 2 edged sword. You'll have more options when chosing spreads, but more trouble hitting it later. Just try and keep a steady beat each time, like the beat of a song.
 
Well this is...odd...

I've recently started RNG in my Platinum, which is a bit more troublesome than my Diamond considering I haven't beaten the League yet. I wish to breed a few things before doing so, though...so to get my initial seed upon each reset, I just catch a level 40 Pokemon and Rare Candy it up some. This usually works well enough, except every third time or so, RNG reporter can't find an initial seed. Worse yet, it has been with the exact same Pokemon three times in a row:

Luxio, Calm, Likes to Fight
Level 40: 105/75/51/54/52/55

Entered game at: 7/8/2009 6:02:14

I don't even know how I've run into it that many times to begin with, as all three times, it was the second Pokemon I encountered upon resetting, and you'd think that riding my bike erratically in the grass would advance the offset so that no two of the same Pokemon would show up.

I would say that the seed can't be found because it was indeed the second Pokemon encountered after resetting, but I've done that plenty of times in Diamond (when my first encounter ends up being one of the random level 20 Pokes appear in the grass around the Resort Area), and it can always find the seed well enough.

I'm more confused about the Luxio though, as I actually have it on hand right now.

And of course, if all else fails, I know that all I need to do is beat the League to solve this. =P


Edit: Argh, finally got it via the IV checker and a lot of trial and error. Delay was 594. Still, I'm hoping that doesn't happen again in the future, as it makes the resetting process a very slow one.
 
Alright now i have another question, but I'll give an example:
Lets say my avg delay is 604 the delay im trying to hit is 520
how would i get my delay lower?
 
I finaly found my precise Delay but there is on probleme tough, my frame is incorrect, it's always ''6'' but I need ''7'', how do I advance it? I know that in the front page there is an IRNG RNG for advancing frame but for breeding, which do I use? IRNG list or RNG? (I think it's IRNG but just to make sure) (I have the journal set too.)

If you are doing it for breeding, you can't advance it by 1 other than waiting an extra little bit for another npc to move or something.


Davy - Instead of asking every question that no one knows, just check it out for yourself. You will find out faster that way.

EDIT: If they move just position but don't walk does it count as a mouvement? And if 2 NPC walk at the same time?

turning counts. Also, dont try to wait to see one move and then grab it since there are 3 and trying to get it before 2 of them move is not realistic. Just try waiting half a second before grabbing the egg or something.

Ok I'm trying to get a bold shiny Giratina. My target frame is 33. In the generated times list it shows the delay as 634. What time should I pick? Does it really matter?

Say I pick the date as 4,7 2009 and the time says 00:57:30. My synchronize time would be 00:56:00? My reset time would then be 00:57:16?

Also how do I hit the delay? I usually get 628, but the Giratina I want doesn't show up with that delay.

Also I have 2 roaming pokemon out right now and Giratina is on frame 1, so it would be 33-1-2? So I have to advance the RNG by 30? When I open up the journal that makes it advance by two? So I need to do 14 flips?

The reseting time is right. To get it to the delay you want, you change the year. you want 628 instead of 634, so you increase the year by 6 to 2015. put this in the year part to confirm it. The journal doesn't advance when it opens up unless it has a caught pokemon on it. you need a total of 15, not 14.
