Busted for skipping summer school?

Do you guys think someone would get in trouble for skipping summer school even though they signed up for it? Well I have a friend and he signed up for a sports summer school program and he stopped going and now he's nervous that he's going to get in trouble when school starts so I'm trying to help him out and I need you guys opinion.

How could you possibly help him if he went and skipped already, he's done, no future left, the best way you can help him is to get him a job at some burger joint, preferably close to a truck stop, so he can look out at the open road while always flipping his burgers in the prison that is his life. Then he'll have something (albeit a sad something) to visualize the afterlife as when he contemplates killing himself.

Or you could find out what the school does and your friend could be a man and take it on the chin for skipping, you choose.

Well, if he signed up voluntarily then he should be ok. If he doesn't want to continue, man up and quit. If he wants to go back just make an excuse for not attending. I don't think it would be that big of a deal if he voluntarily did this. It's not mandatory, correct?

I don't think anything will happen and it's not mandatory but he thinks they'll make a big deal of it and he's nervous but in a way it's like community service. You sign up and they can't make you do it if you don't want to.

They can make you do community service even if you don't want to, break a law, you'll find out I'm right.

Unless your school has super strict policies, your friend should be fine. At the very least, he gets a bit of a black eye for not doing what he said he would. At the very most, he gets booted off the team for whatever sport he signed up for.

Nothing too big to threat about.

Okay let me explain the whole thing. There were sign ups for summer school programs like art classes ect. He though summer would be boring so he signed up for the sports program which just plays different sports each week, no official school teams ect. Then he stopped going.

Why would they chop off his leg?

if he doesn't play for them, he doesn't play for anyone

jokes aside though, whichever teacher was in charge will probably ask him what happened, he'll explain, some awkwardness, and then it's over. They aren't going to hunt him down and beat him up for not going to a optional sports group. Though, what a shithead for doing that. He could at least man up and go back and say he wants to quit.

He's overexaggerating.

I guess it depends on the formality of the club but from what it sounds like, he should just suck it up and stop worrying about it!!

I doubt your friend would get in trouble for skipping a summer sports program. My school offers some summer programs and most kids quit after a few weeks, and there isnt a penalty, but your school could be different.

This is not an answer to your question, but alot of people skip summer school. In my area, due to the bad economy and all, they dropped the option of summer school alltogether. You either pass, or do it again next year.
