So I just started playing again today after spending some team reading and trying to catch up on everything. I think the team I've managed to put together is pretty standard but to be honest I'm not 100% certain what the standard team is yet. The goal behind this team is to set up Stealth Rock & Spikes early game and play defensive for the most part. I'm still learning the metagame though and I wanted opinions on how this team could be improved, what weaknesses it has, and such so I decided to post this.

Ability: Torrent
EVs: 240 Hp / 216 Def / 52 SAtk
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Relaxed (+Def, -Spd)
- Earthquake
- Roar
- Stealth Rock
- Surf

I decided to go with a Swampert lead, although I did test Metagross for awhile. I originally had Ice Beam over Roar but I quickly found out I probably need Roar here so I added it on. The idea is to set up Stealth Rock t1 while being a good counter to most of the leads I've seen so far (mostly Metagross, Aerodactly, and Swampert).

Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 Spd
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Bold (+Def, -Atk)
- Overheat
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Will-o-wisp

To be honest I had no clue what this thing did when I first built my team until someone using it caught me off guard with it. He can take hits and has good type coverage and has worked great so far. I had some trouble deciding between Discharge & Thunderbolt but I decided to go with Thunderbolt since I already have Will-o-wisp for status.

Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 Atk
IVs: 0 Spd
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Relaxed (+Def, -Spd)
- Explosion
- Gyro Ball
- Rapid Spin
- Spikes

I was originally running Toxic Spikes over Spikes but decided to test the latter for now, opinions on which one of these to you would be nice. I decided to use this since my team needed a good Spinner and this seemed like a perfect fit with the rest of the team.

Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def / 176 SDef / 80 SAtk
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Calm (+SDef, -Atk)
- Flamethrower
- Protect
- Toxic
- Wish

The recommended Blissey moveset, has probably been the Team MVP to this point. Could potentially replace Flamethrower with a different move although I'm not sure if that's a good idea or not.

Ability: Intimdate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Impish (+Def, -SAtk)
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Stone Edge
- Waterfall

I was originally using the standard DDance/Taunt moveset but I decided to give this a version a try. He gives me another Poke to switch in on Status and he can take hits very well. Still considering running DDance over Stone Edge, opinions here would be appreciated.

Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spd
Item: Choice Band
Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- Superpower
- U-Turn

Standard Band Scizor although I was originally running X-Scissor over U-Turn until someone suggested U-Turn over it. Not 100% certain which one is better yet but the rest of the moveset has been working nicely. Opinions on U-Turn vs. X-Scissor would be nice.

Threat List: I'm pretty much learning on the fly what my threats are but so far things that have given me trouble:
Charge Beam Celebi
Infernape
Rotom-c
Walrein

If there's anything else anyone sees that my team could be weak to and/or ways to improve my team's weaknesses I would greatly appreciate the advice. I've only been playing again for 1 day so all of this is kind of new to me.

Just a quick rate as I don't have too much time.

I have used that rotom set with great success.
Modest> Bold: he still tanks quite well
Discharge> Tbolt: It gives you double status and semi-paralysis support in a pinch.
Substitute> Overheat: WoW is much better. It shuts down scizor, T-tar, and gives you extra status to wear things down.

Also, maybe try this spread: 64 Hp, 210 spd, and 196 Satk
Make him timid. I suggested both because I don't know which one will work better for you. With a timid nature he outruns timid heatran and adamant SD luke whom is a threat to almost any team.

I hope I helped and good luck with the team!

Which nature would be better for me overall, Modest or Timid?
