Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I have a question, How would I go about finding a flawless spread for a method j pokemon using the time finder? I know that you'd enter all 31's but, I do that and it doesn't find any matches, and my max. frame is 1000 since a max. frame of 99999 is insane:D

Use Wichu's PokeRNG or use the spreadsheets linked on the first page.

Curious, have you actually RNGd anything at this point?

If it's harder than IV breeding will there be any advantage at all? It's cool, I like information for informations sake, just wondering if there are any practical advantages.

The reason I manipulated mine is that it'll have the same OT as the game you're starting (and for me, it's faster and more effective than blind SRing). This way, you can trade it to another game, level it up, and send it back overpowered without worrying about disobedience.

I used the seed C7010280, which has a Modest 29/3/31/31/29/31 spread at frame 1 (excellent for Piplup).

is it normal to have to do around 2000 double taps to get a timid pokemon from an egg

I would try for a little less taps than that, ~400 is my limit. Also mingot, I can't seem to find the link to viletung's spreadsheets, could you just give me the links instead of searching over 300 pages looking for the specific post where viletung first gave the links out.

ok, Im not sure if Im doing it correctly, so can you tell me?

I save near a place where i can catch lvl 50 ish pokemon.

reset to 19:03, wait till 19:00, rapidly tap a till enter at 19:14.

go back and forth from first page on journal, catch pokemon.
now i've caught some ranging with 14 seconds 598-600 delay, which is 1-3 delay off my target delay. am i supposed to be doing this like this? it seems like Im supposed to try very hardly till i get the 597?

No I haven't RNG'ed anything at all yet I'm just gathering spreads together so I know what to aim for:D

Edit: Also if you get a calculated amount of journal flips that looks like this: 15.5, would you round up or down?

Hm, just two quick questions (wanted to double-check).

Are the nature/IV's of the roaming legendary birds preset once I talk to Prof. Oak? Just wanted to make sure because one of my ambitions is to RNG abuse and catch a Timid Zapdos with good IV's. Also, when you find the first legendary bird of the three, does the frame of the first legendary bird encountered start at frame 11?

I think if you save before talking to professor oak who releases the legendary birds you can somewhat get different Ivs.

Edit: This is a bit off topic but, you wouldn't be Lord Scalgon from serebii.net would you?

Okay, I was aiming for this Darkrai:
seed d2140289, frame 114, Timid, 31/31/31/31/31/31

My coin flips indicated that I got the correct seconds/delay. I needed to walk 128 steps with my 5-Pokémon party, flip 54 Journal pages, and then talk to Darkrai, correct? I did so, and ended up with the Darkrai from frame 135 of that seed.

After loading the game with the Coin Flip app up and using them to verify that I had the correct seconds/delay, I flipped through the apps to get to the Pedometer, cleared it, and then used it to reliably walk exactly 128 steps. I then opened my Journal and flipped 54 pages. I believe I lost count by 1, but that would definitely not be enough to explain the 21-frame difference.

If I flipped through an app such as the Happiness Checker on my way from the Coin Flip to the Pedometer, that would not affect Darkrai at all (only the IRNG), right? Also, I read in the OP that the 128 steps don't start at 0 when the game resets... is that most likely my problem? How exactly does that work?

Thanks!

114 is the Method 1 frame. For stationary legends, you need to use Method J to get the right frame number (for this seed, 71 works, for example). I have this very Darkrai and can verify you also need a Timid Synchronizer in the lead slot to get it.

Ah, okay, thanks! So are all method 1 frames simply 43 frames above the corresponding method J frame? Since 70 will now be the number of advances required, I won't have to worry about the steps, but just so I know for future reference, what exactly is meant in the OP by the 128 steps not resetting when you SR? Since I'm not an egg, it's fine that I possibly flipped through the Happiness Checker app to get to the Pedometer, right?

No, the number of frames between method J and method 1 spreads varies. Use RNG Reporter to find the correct method J frame for your seed.

Okay I'm confused here. I THOUGHT I had done everything right and was about to get my first shiny egg, but instead out pops a gay, little, Mild, regular Abra. I'm trying to hit my delay to give myself a shiny egg that I want.

So I'm standing in Route 226, my parents at the ready, 5 pokemon in my party. I reset at my correct reset time. I have saved with the Coin Flip App open and I do my 10 flips (no more, no less) and they match the ones RNG reporter tells me I'm supposed to get. So then I switch to the Happiness Checker and do my 21 double taps, and afterward switch to the Coin Flip again and do my 4 flips. Then I fly to Solaceon, put my parents (no everstone) in the Daycare, run around and save in front of an egg that wasn't at all what I wanted.

What did I do wrong?

EDIT: Fuck, was it the 5 pokemon part? I just looked at the program by MinusOne and saw that there. Oh well, I guess it was probably a blessing in disguise because after missing my delay over and over I used that open slot to catch pokemon, which eventually led to the realization I should be shooting for a delay 12 lower than what I was. Meh.

Okay I just did the exact same thing except this time the parents were already in the daycare and I had 6 guys in my party. I don't get it............
