Hello Smogon, I am new to RMT's so bare with me. I've been using this team for about a week now and has slowly been improving with practice. Assuming you wont be reading this first section of the RMT, I will jump right into details.
The Team at a glance:
ANY CHANGES WILL BE DONE IN PURPLE.
The Lead
Swampert (Pangaea) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 240 HP/ 216 Def/ 52 SAtk
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spe)
- Stealth Rock
- Icebeam
- HydroPump
- Earthquake
I choose to lead with a Choicescarf Azelf., because has the ability to set up rocks at the least and also can hit hard with STAB psychic. Also, if i dont trick the Scarf off to another pokemon earlier in the game or if im just plain faster i'll explode right in there faces for the usual KO. Azelf is a rather versatile lead and can cause a few problems for most leads not named Tyranitar.
I would also like to give credit to Atticus for this ev spread and moveset****
The Revenge
Scizor (Magnum) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bulletpunch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit
This is the standard Choiceband scizor set. It is mainly a Revenge killer and can hit incredibly hard with priority bulletpunch. Also, U-turn scouts opponents teams and can hit pretty hard. Superpower for an incredibly strong fighting type attack for Snorlax,Blissey, Umbreon and those other annoyingly defensive pokemon. And pursuit for ghost types like gengar and rotom.
The Roar of the Wyvern
Salamence (Hellion) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Jolly (+Spe, -Spatk)
EV: 252 HP/180 Def/76 Spe
-Dragon Dance
-Dragon Claw
-Earthquake
-Roost
Dragon Dance Salamence is an amazingly hard hitter and usually gets at least 2-3 KO's before Lifeorb drains its life. Still not sure if i like Outrage over Dragon Claw and i am still trying to find maybe a different moveset that works into this team. Any help? :)
Dragon claw gives mence the ability to switch attacks against empoleons. while Yache gives me a better defense to dragondance:)
The Steel Killer
Magnezone (Trion) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Magnetpull
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive nature (+Spe, -SpDef)
- Flash Cannon
- HP Fire
- Thunderbolt
- Explosion
Not exactly my favorite set for Magnezone, but im not sure what other set too use. Anyways, switch in on anything threatening Salamence and set up a sub. Magnet Rise if i fear Magnezones 4x weakness(EQ), and attempt to sweep with STAB thunderbolt and HP ice...either trying to find a differnt pokemon that works better on the team, or just a better support for the team.
This set is working WAY better. Thank you Slumdog for your help. Debating whether or not to make HP ice or grass for Swamperts who protect against infernape.
**** Still very iffy about switching HP ice to HP Grass due to the fact that some people switch in latias/flygon against me. Infernape can handle swamperts not using protect as it says somewhere below
The Nasty Nape
Infernape (Pompeii) @ Lifeorb
Ability: Blaze
64 Atk / 252 SpA / 192 Spe
Naive nature (+Spd, -SpDef)
- Fireblast
- CloseCombat
- GrassKnot
- Hp Ice
This pokemon has been one of my favorites since i picked him as my starter. Anyways, this thing can hit hard with Stab and possibly BLAZE Fireblast. Also, STAB Closecombat is for the same reasons as Scizor's Superpower. Grassknot for unsuspecting Bulky waters(specifically Swampert), and finally, HP ice for those damn dragons before they get any boosts. Looking for any other set to help out the team any better then it already does:)
The Wisher
Rotom-H (EasyBake) @ Choicescarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe (is this right?)
Timid nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Trick
- Thunderbolt
- Overheat
- Shadowball
Vaporeon is my MOST effective gyarados killer i've ever used and has great synergy with my infernape. Its the standard wish baton passer set and is a great support pokemon. I dont really ahve much more to say about her other then that she is a great wall and can usually win battles when they come down too it. She just seemed to fit in.
I apologize for any descriptions that arent detailed enough but being my first RMT i tried my best. I am taking all ideas and suggestions into consideration so please DO NOT hesitate to leave some criticism
For those of you who are concerned with my biggest threats too this team:
S.D lucario, Swampert with protect, metagross, latias, Subtoxic Heatran, and any other you think i missed also my 3 fire weaknesses. i am considering any changes so please RATE!:)
****ALSO very many thanks to Slumdog for his help as well as mc2094,beej,Lostelle, and Radiowave for all of their help with this rmt! sorry if i missed anybody:)
