Corrosion of Conformity - Drowning in a Daydream

this song has a fucking cool title, but it doesn't have the same sludgy feel to it that their older stuff did. Actually, it resembles Monster Magnet more than what I think when I think of Corrosion of Conformity.

the new one is VERY different. it's like...a cross between Goldfrapp and Vanessa Carlton or something...=/

her older stuff is amazing though. you should check out 2006's Vegetal.

i wasnt a fan of vegetal to be honest, i thought it was inferior to her debut album :(

will check out the new album soon!

edit: np - rainbow
this sounds pretty good so far. i like it better than vegetal for sure

see i'm not sure how i feel about the new one yet.

it sounds like a combination of Goldfrapp and Vanessa Carlton, and not really anything like the Emilie Simon i've come to know and love so much. ='(

Threshold - The Ravages of Time

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII CAN TEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELL THE WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORLD

played through the big machine a couple times now and im starting to love this. the brass and piano are fantastic and add a whole new layer of depth to what used to be fairly generic electropop. this album is a huge step forwards for sure.

lyrics are fairly subpar though. i prefer when she sings in french because no matter what she says it sounds significant and she has a very french sound still so alot of english words and sounds are akward when she sings them :|

still, this is by a long long way her best album i'd say, with rainbow, the cycle, and maybe closer being the standout tracks from my first few listens. im not a fan of rocket to the moon, though. too jazzy.

i agree wholeheartedly about the english/french thing. there's like one verse of one song in french.

glad you're digging it more than i currently am. =(

Pearl Jam - Gonna See My Friend

I've been listening to Backspacer all day for a while and I've come to my conclusion that this album is good. Backspacer is much better than I expected.

Mötley Crüe - She Goes Down

My mom won the CD Dr.Feelgood today by winning a Guitar Hero contest at work. So yeah I popped the CD in and surprise surprise I actually ended up liking it.
