Shoddy Downloading problem- need help

I have no idea why it chose to underline this, but i can't undo the underlining.

I've read this thread (Troubles Running Shoddy Battle? READ Before Asking)and haven't found my problem in there

If my problem has been posted in there please lock this thread and tell me which one it is.

Every time I try downloading shoddy from shoddybattle.com, it opens the program under Internet Explorer, then Internet explorer stays at a blank page, then closes and goes into a file download screen different from the initial one.

I then have three options- open, save, or cancel. If i choose open, it does what i previously said, if I choose save, it saves the file than when i try opening it, the same thing happens.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try running it from the command line if you cant DOWNLOAD IT. If you can download it and it says shoddybattle.jnlp, then just fix your java by updating it. Else...

Open a run, type this code in..

I can download it, and I've already tried the run command with that code, the same thing happens.

I'll try updating my java and see what happens.

Edit: Ok, I must be trying to open it wrong. I've have the most recent Java update(and re-downloaded it). Now when I try to open shoddy from here (http://shoddybattle.com/downloads) it either does what I explained before, Or it brings up the rectangular java loading "screen" (The one that comes up when you normally open shoddy) , sits for a few seconds gos away and shoddy doesn't open. I think I'm opening it wrong or downloading it wrong or something.
