Fat Fury! [OU RMT]

Hey there and welcome to my RMT :D This is my first RMT so it mighn't be as detailed as other topics! After mainly focusing on offensive teams for quite a while now, I decided to take a more bulky offensive approach.

At first glance :

In further Detail:

150px-385Jirachi.png

Apachi (Jirachi) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 80 HP/252 Atk/176 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Trick
- Iron Head
- Stealth Rock
- U-turn

Opinion:
I went with Jirachi as my lead for many reasons
. First of all, Jirachi cripples nearly every lead with Trick, ruining every suicide lead like Metagross, Aerodactyl and Azelf which proves useful when it gives me a free turn to set up rocks. Choice Scarf proves seriously useless to most leads and normally Jirachi gets some much needed leftovers in return for it. Second of all, Jirachi scores some clean 2HKO's on the likes of Azelf and Aerodactyl, and since Iron Head has a 60% flinch rate, most leads won't even get to touch this Jirachi. U-Turn is good to escape from the likes of Magnezone.

150px-373Salamence.png

MasterMind (Salamence) (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 84 Atk/208 Spd/216 SAtk
Mild nature (+SAtk, -Def)
- Draco Meteor
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- Outrage

Opinion: This is the basic standard New Mixmence set, coupled with Jirachi to cover each other's weaknesses with some nice Synergy. Salamence is here to kill threats like Lucario/Scizor with a Fire Blast, to make life for my Dusknoir a lot easier. Intimidate is also a big plus when working with a bulky-ish team like this one. I went with Outrage over Roost to score some important KO's to other pokemon. I chose Salamence over the likes of Flygon because I didn't really want to be tied down by a Scarf (Making 3 of my pokemon Scarf users then) Salamence works better with Jirachi than Flygon when it comes down to covering Jirachi's weaknesses.
170px-171Lanturn.png

Raenteon (Lanturn) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 40 HP/80 Spd/136 SAtk/252 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Thunder Wave

Opinion: Ok, so me and a friend decided that my team fails against Starmie and Zapdos. So we decided to take out Dusclops and replace it with a Sponging Lanturn, it takes both Zapdos and Starmie's moves and can always fight back with an Ice beam or Thunderbolt respectively. Thunder Wave is also a plus when dealing with Dragon Dance pokemon.

250px-485Heatran.png

Logarithm (Heatran) (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Atk/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Rash nature (+SAtk, -SDef)
- Overheat
- Earth Power
- Explosion
- Dragon Pulse

Opinion: I know what you're thinking, its another generic Scarftran. Well yes, it is. Apart from the fact that she is using Overheat instead of Flamethrower or Fire Blast is what sets it apart from other Scarftran. This team needed Heatran in order to block some of its weaknesses, (Ice and Dragon for Gyarados, Brave Bird Skarmory for Hariyama, Crunch on Dusknoir and any fire type move on Jirachi) Its also an excellent Lucario and Infernape counter (If they aren't carrying Mach Punch/Vacuum Wave)

245Suicune.png

PurpleHaze (Suicune) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/6 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Electric]
- Rest

Opinion: Hariyama is replaced by Suicune because Dusknoir is gone, and without Dusknoir Hariyama has no real purpose (It was my Weavile/TTar counter) So since this team had a weakness to DD pokemon (As I have already mentioned) We decided to add this to my team, I know, you're looking at it and thinking: WTF? Well I'll explain, we used the standard Crocune Evs to begin with, mainly for bulk. Then we got all the moves that my team needed to counter its threats, HP Electric for Gyrados, Ice Beam for Salamence and Surf for STAB.

170px-130Gyarados.png

SolidSnake (Gyarados) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/6 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Waterfall
- Dragon Dance
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Opinion: And last but not least, SleepTalk Gyarados. When I started using this set I isntantly loved it, any pokemon that thinks they can cripple my Gyarados with T-Wave or Will-O-Wisp is wrong, he easily shakes it off with a Rest. You may have noticed that I am using the wrong Ev spread for the Dragon Dancing SleepTalk Gyarados (
252 HP / 224 Def / 32 Spe) I decided to just give it the regular EV spread to Max its defense allowing to take more hits whilst asleep. I like how easy it is to access a sweep with this Gyarados, DD'ing whilst asleep deals a massive amount to the opposing player when Gyarados awakes from his slumber.

Thanks for viewing this RMT, comments and ideas are welcomed!!!

I have been advised to make the following changes to the team:

Replacement for Dusknoir:
170px-171Lanturn.png

Raenteon (Lanturn) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 40 HP/80 Spd/136 SAtk/252 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Thunder Wave

Opinion: Ok, so me and a friend decided that my team fails against Starmie and Zapdos. So we decided to take out Dusclops and replace it with a Sponging Lanturn, it takes both Zapdos and Starmie's moves and can always fight back with an Ice beam or Thunderbolt respectively. Thunder Wave is also a plus when dealing with Dragon Dance pokemon.

Replacement for Hariyama:

PurpleHaze (Suicune) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/6 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Electric]
- Rest

Opinion: Hariyama is replaced by Suicune because Dusknoir is gone, and without Dusknoir Hariyama has no real purpose (It was my Weavile/TTar counter) So since this team had a weakness to DD pokemon (As I have already mentioned) We decided to add this to my team, I know, you're looking at it and thinking: WTF? First of all, Jirachi cripples nearly every lead with Trick, ruining every suicide lead like Metagross, Aerodactyl and Azelf which proves useful when it gives me a free turn to set up rocks.
Hardly.
Naive Azelf outspeds this set and normally Taunts, at least of it's carrying it.
That blocks the item switch, and your SR set-up.
Flamethrower/Fire Blast does put a dent in Jirachi, and even if you kill it, it's open to a revenge kill.
Choice Scarf proves seriously useless to most leads and normally Jirachi gets some much needed leftovers in return for it.
This depends on the lead.
Second of all, Jirachi scores some clean 2HKO's on the likes of Azelf and Aerodactyl, and since Iron Head has a 60% flinch rate, most leads won't even get to touch this Jirachi.
Read above to see my argument on this.

Comments inside the quoting.

@ txtdriftking

Naive Azelf doesn't outspeed when Jirachi still has its scarf. I don't know what you're thinking. Now to my rate...

I really think you should change Jirachi's EV spread and movepool. After suicune is gone, Salamence and Gyarados rampage through your team, so you want a second check to them. The set looks like this.

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Jolly Nature
4 hp/252 att/252 speed
-Iron Head
-Thunderpunch
-Ice Punch
-Stealth Rock

This set allows you to at least speed tie with Salamence and outspeed gyarados, providing effective checks to each with Ice Punch, and Thunderpunch respectively. I hope this helps the success of your team. Good luck!

@ txtdriftking: Naive Azelf doesnt outspeed Jirachi, unless the Azelf is scarfed, which is very doubtful.

@sprinkles: I will test out that set, Thanks!

If an azelf is scarfed, it will generally Trick first turn, to avoid being locked into something like Stealth Rock, which is just asking for scizor to come in. You win against Azelf most of the time because if it Fire Blasts, I think you survive with a tad bit of health left, and can then just switch in Heatran. If you want you could put Trick over Stealth Rock on Jirachi, and put Stealth Rock over Dragon Pulse on Heatran. Dragon Pulse really isn't doing much, as Suicune and now Jirachi will have Dragons covered.

Thanks sprinkles for your help, I was looking over that set but why have a Scarfed Jirachi with rocks? That would mean having to switch out after the first turn.

Yea man that's why I just thought of that shortly after posting. Heatran causes so many switches it's easy to get sr up.
