Team of Absolute Manliness

Who are you anyway?

First of all, hi! I may be new to these forums but I have been into competitive battling since mid-2007. Sadly,I had to quit at the end of that year due to the fact that assignments are piling up, one after the other. Now, after 2 years of hibernation, I am back to competitive battling. Ironically, this will be my first rMT to be publicized hee hee hee so I may have some mistakes and mediocrities here and there. Well, without further ado, here is the team I have been using for 2 weeks.

Who are they?

What would you like to do with them?

My team is purely simple in nature. My members are to set up entry hazards and keep on phazing and force to weaken the enemy team for a sweet cleanup with my carry Pokemon....Latias.

Well I just been overhyped seeing that Latias is OU now. Roserade, being my favorite is my ideal spiker and it fits the role well. These are what I call the "constants" for my team. All the others were filler which I had to change again and again and again. Currently, the fillers are really doing their job well giving me nice wins but I felt it was somewhat lacking.

So this is why I choose to post it here for you people to rate it.

What does each one of them do?:

Firstly, my team is divided into two (2). The first group is called the "Variables" and second group is called the "Constants". The Variables are the Pokemon which I feel not doing their job right or those which I used as filler. The Constants are the core members of my team so I will most probably imbibe them to me team no matter what. For the reason that they are my faves and all. OK let's start of with.....

The Variables:

"I will lead you to the light"
392Infernape.png

Darwinism (Infernape) (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 64 Atk/192 Spd/252 SAtk
Hasty nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Close Combat
- Stealth Rock
- Vacuum Wave
- Fire Blast

Infernape lead has been the best on my book so far. Being able to defeat any lead bar hippowdon, it has been tested and proven to be a pain. I got Vacuum Wave instead of Fake Out since Fake Out can be countered by Lukes and Zam whereas, with Vacuum Wave, I can still destroy focus sashed Pokemon while defeating a Lead Luke/Zam, much to my convenience. Ape also serves as my Starmie check since Starmie can pwn my Rotom and can blow away the entry hazards which would be a great destruction to my plan.

"I will show you the path"

212Scizor.png

Balmung (Scizor) (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/6 Def
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit

Super standard I must say. I use Scizor to bring a lot of switches due to its IMBA Choice Banded U Turn. U Turn will also allow me to bring Latias unscathed if needed be for a sweep. Following apes baiting, scizor will kill starmie through pursuit or u-turn. Not much to say here.

"I will blow you away since that is my job"

245Suicune.png

Aurora(Suicune) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 236 HP/146 Def/128 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Roar
- Sleep Talk
- Rest
- Surf

The elements of Crocune with the Calm Mind Shuffle set whilst sacrificing a bit of sweeping power. Previously, I used the CM shuffle build for my phazing needs but I thought the former lacked the ability to phaze in sleep. Not to mention being vulnerable when asleep. So I combined the Crocune set with the CM shuffle set and got this which has pretty much been a big asset tome team. The 236 HP EV's are for the perfect leftovers number and the EV's pretty much balance Suicune's defenses with more emphasis in Defense.

"I won't let you spin Right Round baby Right Round..."

Microwave_oven_flashon.jpg

I'mHotUrNot (Rotom-h) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spe/252 SpA/4 HP
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Att)
- Discharge
- Trick
- Overheat
- Shadow Ball

To be perfectly honest, I feel that I have made a wrong choice with Rotom as my anti-spinner. Well, I just love the fact that Overheat destroys Scizor and Foretress. Also, with Will O Wisp, he can pretty much cripple TTar who may ruin my Latias sweep with it's physical Crunch and maybe, even Weavile. The EV's are also very standard for a physically defensive Rotom so I may not need explain there much further.

The Constants:

"I will torture you every time you show your pathetic face"

407-Artwork-IV.jpg

Ursula (Roserade) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/120 Spd/136 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Grass Knot
- Spikes
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Rest

Roserade is a core member of my team being my favorite and being my master of entry hazards. Roserade also acts as a bait whilst nailing Scizor hook, line and sinker. The EV's are very standard yet they fit Roserade nicely. The added special defense lets me stay with Ice Beamers whilst I use spikes like a big douche bag. The ability to outspeed Jolly Ttar is nice itself since TTar is my number one enemy. Being able to destroy both Ttar and Scizor on a whim makes my Latias Godlike when sweeping in the late game.

"I will sweep you off your feet"

380Latias.png

Beatrix (Latias) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 208 HP/180 Spd/120 Def
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Recover
- Surf

My pride and joy and the very essence of this team -Latias. Obviously, she is my main sweeper and the noteworthy finisher to all my battles and for good reason. The EV's may seem to be full of mumbo jumbo but allow me to explain. Timid and 180 EV's in speed give me 331 speed outspeeding base 100's with neutral nature but what really makes 180so special is that this lets me bypass Timid Latias who may run 176 EV's -_-. The 208 HP EV give me maximum HP WITH optimal leftovers Recovery. The rest of the EV's are dumped in Defense to let give my Latias some form of protection against priority moves which bypass Latias' amazing Speed and which may hinder or even put a halt to my sweep.

Questions and (hopefully :D) Answers

1. Is Infernape alright as a lead or do I have to change it? Or should I make Rose my lead??

2. Did I pick the right Rotom forme for the job?

3. Are there any Pokemon I missed out which may destroy my team?

Conclusion

Thank you so much for sacrificing a fraction of your time to check on my RMT. Your little act of rating my team will prove to be useful in my endeavors in the world of battling. Once again, thank you in advance.=)

PS: For all those wondering why I put a real microwave oven for Rotom-H,the reason is simple. I cannot find a sugimori art of Rotom-H and my google and deviantart are both down so please bear with me.

I would change Vacuum wave to Fake Out,
Their are few Lucario/Kazam leads,
(even fewer now that zam is UU!)
and Fake out does a lot better.
It would be well worth it.

There are also leads who carry protect (Swampert, Jask) so I guess that it is more beneficial for vacuum wave since it does what fake out does, but it is a lot better and hits more for what it's worth.

Fake Out on Ape will guarantee you to break the Sash from stuff you dont to get het by. Like Azelf & Aero.

I might as well try then. By the way, I just noticed that none of my team is resistant to rock...so any comments on that?

I sincerely suggest sleep powder on roserade (over spikes). You could also consider leaf storm on her.

About you rock weakness you could change suicune with swampert:

Swampert @ leftovers/ impish/ torrent
240 HP, 52 Atk, 216 Def

- Rest
- Sleep talk
- Earthquake
- Avalanche/ Stone edge/ Waterfall/ Roar

--> strategy is the same, except you have a rock resist now.

Hope I helped ^^

your team is somewhat lucario weak, while he dont got that much chances to find a time to sword dance,if he is able to pull of one, your team is going to get raped, infernape will probaly be out of play by the time he appear,a +2 crunch will ohko latias and rotom, the later cant even outspeed,a +2 extreme speed will ohko roserade, and scizor is always ohko by +2 close combat,in fact he got a chance to be ohko by a +0 close combat from adamant lucario after SR damage, what i am going to do is to mess with rotom so that you still got a rapid spin blocker and something to deal with lucario, you should make him scarfed with 252 on special atack and speed,6 hp with timid or modest nature, with the moveset shadow ball, thunderbolt, overheat and trick, the set already explain everything you need to know, with this your damage output will not only get higher has you will also have a almost 100% lucario check(or counter if you can switch into close combat or extreme speed) and still be able to block rapid spinner,on a side note, latias need 2 calm minds to 2hko lucario with surf, since she got no evs in special atack, surf will do about 40% to him,or even less, anyway, that rotom also help agains starmie since thunderbolt will probaly ohko, and when he dont need scarf anymore, you can just trick to screw some ramdon blissey

I think your biggest issues by far are blissey (!) big one, and tyranitar. If ttar's got everything weakened (say with spikes since your entire team's weak or something), it's gonna KO everything but suicune.

Aside from scizor (who easily owned by protect), your team gets completely walled by blissey. No trick items, no toxic spikes, nothing. This can start hampering your team big time.

Lastly, though it's fairly obscure, CM+LO raikou also 6-0's your team, or takes at least 3-4 pokes with it. It beats latias (outspeeds and shadowball is SE), beats roserade, ohko's rotom, ape, scizor, and suicune obviously. If you want to get rid of this threat swampert as mentioned before could work as a phaser or switch out ape for scarftran and have roserade as your lead (and work SR in). Swapping spikes on roserade for tspikes will help with both the blissey problem as well as the ttar one.

I will try that one but the problem is that losing Wow will mean losing to Ttar himself but I ought to give that a shot.

Hmmm, that is a perfect idea but having another choice scarfer on my team seems odd so I am still indifferent to the idea of scarftran.

Several tweaks before putting it to rest. Firstly, I would look to run a simple 4 Hp / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Latias at a Timid Nature. This way you can outrun Naive Salamence, as well as speed-tieing with opposing Latias and Gengar. The last thing you want is getting outpaced by Gengar or Latias after getting in several Calm Mind boosts. The extra power is needed. 252 SpA is needed to actually hurt Pokemon after a boost. Tyranitar won't mind a +1 Surf with abysmal investment in the Special Attack department.

On Suicune, I'd actually go for a physically bulky Ev spread with 252 Hp / 252 Def / 6 SpD. This way, it allows you to combat with DD Salamence relatively easier. Go for the moveset Ice Beam / Surf / Roar / Rest. I don't think you need to shuffle while your asleep. Ice Beam is much needed so you can serve as a better Salamence check. With that being said, you can always try spacing Aromatherapy on Roserade over Grass Knot or Hidden power Fire. This way you can cleanse Suicune's Rest with Aromatherapy when your given the chance.

And finally, go for 232 HP / 20 SpA / 252 Spe at a Timid nature on Rotom as a way to come in on Gyarados and Lucario more recklessly. This gives Rotom a good overall bulk while still OHKOing Lucario and Scizor with Overheat even with 20 SpA investment. 20 SpA EVs is needed to 2hko offensive Latias. overall gl.

i can see a massive rhyperior weakness. if your suicune has been koed, then a sandstorm support rhyperior will take out a few of your pokemon. if you do decide to calm mind with your latias, a megahorn from rhyperior will take it down. roserade is also tooken down by megahorn, infernape is destroyed by an equake, there are a couple of ways to destroy the scizor. choice band equake will KO the rotom forme. then again, this is also assuming you play your team smart. you also wont see rhyperior much since it move to UU

choice band equake will KO the rotom forme.

Are we to assume that this has Gravity support?; because under normal conditions - it can't even hit it.

On ward to the rate...

With the team based on shuffling I think that a Spiker Roserade is fine since Toxic spikes damage are accumulated and you wouldn't want Pokemon to stay since you would want them to switch in the first place.

I also second franky's suggestion with Latias since Latias hits like a girl (no pun intended) without the investment in SpA.

Consider a Scarftran lead, as he can still set up Stealth Rocks, but he can come back later on, absorb fire moves, abuse his good typing, and revenge kill Lucario that try to sweep.
