First of all, this is a team built around sandstorm and tricks. I might have a lot of trick users on my team but I promise you that they work well.
Building the team
I intended to make this a Sandstorm team and I think I did quite well in that aspect. I wanted a good lead that can counter most leads with ease, doesn't die easy and doesn't get hurt by Sandstorm. After a while, I came up with the idea of Jirachi.
After that, I wanted a physical sweeper, and as I intended to make it a sandstorm team, of course it had to be Tyranitar because of it's ability, Sand stream.
Then I thought I needed someone to take all the ground, fire and fight attacks aimed for the previous two. I immediately thought of any Rotom form and decided to go for Rotom-c.
I already had 2 special sweepers (My Jirachi works like one, check movesets later in thread!) and Rotom-c is a decent threat, with or without it's choicescarf.
So I decided for a Bulky Swords Dance Scizor, stolen directly from the Smog. Click here for more information.
Now, as I am an offensive player by nature, I wanted a mixed sweepers. I tried out many different pokes, including Infernape but came up with a mixed agil-Lucario.
The last poke became an Azelf for no reason at all other than it looks cool.
So, the team as a whole:
In-depth look:
Jirachi
@ Choice scarf
Timid
6Hp/252SpA/252SpE
- Trick
- Thunder Wave
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt
Jirachi is an epic lead. If I face anything that will SR or use Earthquake, I use Trick, so if it uses SR I will T wave, if it uses Earthquake I will switch into either Azelf or Rotom-c and trick the incoming poke too.
Tyranitar
@Leftovers
Jolly
6Hp/252Att/252Spe
- Dragon Dance
- Fire Punch
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
My DD Tyranitar. What it does is simply switching in on any choiced specialattack, preferably something he resists, then get a free Dragon Dance as he switches, or more if he decides to stay in.
Earthquake and Stone Edge are standards for Tyranitar and Fire punch is there to deal with those swarms of Scizor that plagues the metagame today.
Scizor
@Leftovers
Adamant
200Hp/252Att/58Spe
- Swords Dance
- Brick Break
- Bullet Punch
- Roost
Scizor, the probably most used Pokémon in todays metagame. Most Scizors are either offensive Swords Dance or Choicebanded. I choose Bulky Swords Dance, because in my opinion statboosters has to be able to take a few hits before they go down.
This guy works as a revengekiller aswell as physical sweeper. I took this directly from the Smog, see more here.
Lucario
@Life orb
Lonely
128Att/184SpA/198Spe
- Agility
- Close combat
- Shadow ball
- HP Ice
I am really in need of suggestions for replacements for this guy. He does nothing, except taking out a Salamence or Flygon every now and then but even that is rare.
Azelf
@Choice scarf
Timid
6Hp/252SpA/252Spe
- Trick
- Fire blast
- Grass knot
- Thunderbolt
This guy works as a complement to Jirachi. When Jirachi has tricked something into a ground move, this guy switches in and uses Trick again to, trick the incoming poke, often a Blissey or Snorlax. When he has gotten rid of the Choice scarf he works kind of as a Special sweeper.
Rotom-c
@Choice scarf
Timid
6hp/252SpA/252Spe
- Trick
- Leaf Storm
- Thunderbolt
- Shadowball
Rotom-c works very good as a partner with Azelf and Jirachi at scarfing opponents.
After that, it can just as Azelf work as a Special sweeper. There really aren't any more to say about him.
So, that is the team.
I am open for suggestions to the team and I will try out all of them!
Thanks,
- Strik3
