Rate My OU Team

This is my first OU team and I wanted to share it with you guys. It's a team with few surprises. So anyway let's get to the introduction.

Team in detail:

Vappy @ Leftovers
Modest
180 def/10 speed/252 sp.atk./68 sp.def
Surf
Wish

HP[Electric]
Protect

First reason for me to choose vaporeon as a lead is, it's unique since there are so few Vaporeon leads out there. Anyway... Vappy here is known as a bulky pokemon with his huge HP stat and impressive sp.atk / sp.def stats he can take any hit like a champ and is almost impossible to OHKO without a STAB/boosted special attack. No EVs for HP and a still respectable 404 HP is already great so I go with 252 sp. atk. EVs and he can reach a really good amount which is 350. 68 for sp.def. EVs for the sake of bulk and 10 speed to outrun swampert and few more slow pokemon. Lastly with this moveset he can get rid of almost any OU lead out there. Protect is to prevent explosion from the likes of Metagross/Azelf/Bronzong who like exploding after setting up rocks.

Electivire @ Expert Belt
Jolly
252 atk./252 speed/4 HP
Ice punch
Cross chop
Earthquake
Thunder punch

One of the greatest partners E-vire/Gyarados but I swapped Gyarados with Vappy here. They work with great with each other because Tbolt being one of the most common attacks and is used against Vaporeon, Electivire can absorb the electric attacks with the 1.5x speed boost thanks to his ability and with 13/17 type coverage + expert belt's 1.1x boost is great for him and can nearly take out any opponent.

Metagross @ Lum Berry
Adamant
152 HP/252 atk./104 speed
Earthquake/Meteor mash/Thunder punch/Agility

E-vire backing up Vaporeon's back is good but I knew I needed a core attacker so here's the mighty agility-gross. It's pretty straight forward good def. and gigantic attack stat with good typing only needs speed which agility provides Metagross to sweep freely.

Salamence_Normal_Version_by_Xous54.png

Salamence @ Life Orb
Adamant
252 atk./252 speed/4 HP
Dragon Dance
Dragon Claw
Earthquake
Fire Blast

So far all my pokemon were vulnerable to ground 2 of them being super effective so I knew I needed someone to cover up for electivire and metagross' weakneses so Salamence is the best choice there is. Metagross and Salamence work well greatly while Salamence gets a free switch in from Earthquakes that will be trouble for Metagross, Metagross can absorb dragon/ice/rock moves for Salamence to cover up for him. The move-set is the old DD-mence set but people mostly expect an Outrage from Salamence so they can switch in to a steel type but Salamence here dissapoints them with dragon claw.

Shiny_Latias_by_zafara.png

Latias @ Choice Scarf
Timid
252 speed/252 sp.atk/4 HP
Thunderbolt
Surf
Draca Meteor
Trick

After Scizor is taken care of by Mence/Meta, Latias can switch in with no fear and get rid of rest of the opponents without any problems and he can kill dd mence/dd gyarados without a problem scarf boosted speed and draco meteor/tbolt gets rid of them.

FP___Cresselia_by_HikariYugi_chan.jpg

Cresselia @ Leftovers
Bold
252 HP / 60 Def / 44 SpD / 152 Spe

Reflect
Light Screen
Lunar Dance
Ice Beam
Lastly for supporting the team I chose Cresselia for it's bulk and the amazing move Lunar Dance. Cresselia's unique move allows me to fully heal a pokemon in my party at the expense of losing Cresselia. Ice beam deals with likes of salamence and other dragons while dual screen provides my core attackers ability to take hits and easy switch in. Moonlight is there for recovery.

Please rate my team and I appreciate suggestions if there's a weakness about my team I can make changes thank you everyone for reading!

Give Vaporeon Wish over Shadow Ball so it can heal itself (with Protect, it is basically an auto-heal) and teammates. HP for Vappy should be Electric so other Waters do not wall you and because it is excellent for handling Gyarados.

With Vaporeon providing healing support, you can swap Lunar Dance on Cress for another move. I'd recommend Light Screen Or Reflect so your Pokemon can set up easier.

But point of vaporeon is to be lead not support I have a vaporeon like that it works great but I wanna try him like this too. and about lunar dance this team is very offensive and I will be just using speed and attack with all I got and destroy so if salamence or metagross gets too weak after attacking I can sacrifice cresselia heal them and destroy the already weakened team. Gyarados gives me trouble though I might go for scarf latias instead of calm mind.

metagross doesn't learn fire punch =/

also, make salamence Naive with outrage. it really appreciates the extra power and speed.

If you have your heart set on Lunar Dance, you should probably try the Dual Screen set on Cresselia.

Cresselia @ Light Clay
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Bold
EV's: 252 HP / 60 Def / 44 SpD / 152 Spe

Reflect
Light Screen
Lunar Dance
Ice Beam

Reflect and Light Screen are great for offensive teams because they allow your sweepers to set up much easier and it will also allow them to take some hits that would normally OHKO and keep sweeping. You need to have Ice Beam on Cresselia as without it, Salamence will destroy you, escpecially Dragon Dance variants.

I really don't see the point of Shadow Ball on Vaporeon. The only leads it seems you'll be using it against are Azelf and Starmie. Both are never OHKO'd by it (Azelf Leads run Focus Sash) and are 2HKO'd with Surf and Hidden Power Grass respectively. If you plan on hitting Celebi, Latias, or Ghosts with it, than just use Ice Beam on Celebi and Latias and Surf will hit the Ghosts sufficiently. It would be best to use Wish over it so you can heal Vaporeon, and letting one of your Pokemon come in completely for free on a resisted hit, and heal off all of the damage from entry hazards along the way, is great. You should probably switch Hidden Power Grass to Hidden Power Electric, unless you really dispise Swampert. Vaporeon is probably the best Gyarados counter, and with Hidden Power Electric it will be able to OHKO most variants if they switch in on Stealth Rocks.

Speaking of Stealth Rocks, I just noticed that you don't actually have any. Also, I'm not realy seeing what Electivire is doing for your team, aside from taking Electric attacks. You may want to consider replacing it for defensive Gliscor. Gliscor is good at countering Tyranitar and Lucario and can switch in on Scizor quite nicely. It also has excellent synergy with Vaporeon.

Gliscor @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Veil
Nature: Impish / Jolly
EV's: 252 HP / 40 Def / 216 Spe

Earthquake
Roost
Stealth Rock
Stone Edge / Aerial Ace

Earthquake is for STAB and to hit Lucario and Tyranitar hard. Roost is for recovery and you really do need Stealth Rock. Stone Edge is to hit Flying types coming in and offers good neutral coverage with Earthquake. Aerial Ace is mostly for Heracross and Brelloom, but it could also be used if you're having trouble with Machamp. Impish is preffered, but Jolly is an option if you find that more Lucario are running Jolly and Ice Punch, which will give your team trouble.

Offensive or Baton Passing Gliscor could also be good for this team, but only use them if you put Stealth Rock somewhere else.

You should definately consider Choice Scarf Latias. Dragon Dance Salamence as well as fast Boltbeamers like Starmie will give your team trouble, and Latias makes a good check for them.

Latias @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Modest/Timid
EV's: 4 HP / 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe

Draco Meteor
Surf
Thuderbolt
Trick

Draco Meteor will easily OHKO Salamence and will put a nice dent in anything that isn't Steel-typed or Blissey. Surf offers good coverage with Draco Meteor and Thuderbolt allows you to check Dragon Dance Gyarados if Vaporeon dies. Watch out when using Trick or Draco Meteor. If you end up Tricking a Choice Bander with Pursuit, Latias will die without doing anything, as you will still be locked into Trick and can't switch out. Tyranitar and Scizor can also take two Draco Meteors fairly easily, and will OHKO you with Pursuit even if you stay in.

I hope some of this helps.

thank u for the ideas about the team it will help me a lot and I tried using gliscor before but I kinda screwed up I'm not that good with him I guess :D but I can always think of something else and about e-vire as I used him before after the motor drive boost he's too hard to kill so I can just beat the opponent with e-vire I mean it really is great and after it fails there will be meta/mence to get rid of the rest of the opponents :)
