*insert generic RMT title here*

This is my second Wi-Fi RMT (actually my third, because Smogon logged me out when I was typing the last one and I couldn't post it and it got deleted >.>) to date and I think this team is much better than the last one, so here it is: Team *insert generic RMT name here*!

The Lead
68.png

Machamp @ Lum Berry
Impish ~~~ No Guard
252HP/96SpD/160Atk
-Dynamic Punch
-Stone Edge
-Encore
-Substitute

Why this Pokemon?
Because anti-lead Machamp is a beast. It can unexpectedly lock opponents into SR, sub as they switch, then smack anything on the next turn. It also has the bulkiness to return later on and deal some damage.
Here's how Machamp stacks up against a few common leads:
-Roserade I sub as they try to sleep me, then keep hitting the bastard.
-Smeargle See above.
-Azelf They'll often use either SR, Taunt or screens. So it's a toss-up between SE or Encore. I could Stone Edge it, then switch to Dusknoir for the explosion and to pick it off w/ Shadow Sneak, or use Encore then Substitute.
-Metagross They will always SR, so I encore then sub up.
-Infernape Encore'd.
-Swampert Encore it.
Sense a pattern yet?
Why these moves?
-Dynamic Punch is a given. It provides some great STAB and with No-Guard, has a 100% confuse rate. (Unless it's a ghost of course.)
-Stone Edge is here over Payback or something else because it still does good damage to things Payback would hit, and hits Zapdos and Salamence. High critical-hit ratio is a bonus.
-Encore is also a given considering Machamp's role in my team. Locking opponents into moves it just too much fun.
-Substitute helps my prediction (or lack thereof) and puts up a barrier for instances stated above.
Why these EVs?
They give Machamp enough defences to wall some special attacks and coupled with an Impish nature and Substitute, can survive for quite a while. It also allows him to pack a punch. (Or four.)

The Great Iron Lump
379.png

Registeel @ Leftovers
Careful ~~~ Clear Body
252HP/100Atk/156SpD
-Toxic
-Ice Punch
-Explosion
-Earthquake
Why this Pokemon?
Registeel is a seriously under-rated pokemon in the OU enviroment. It can deal with Salamence, Heatran, Tyranitar, Jirachi, bulky waters, and generic special attackers. And it also isn't affected by Intimidate.Kewl.
Why these moves?
-Toxic wears down bulky waters like Suicune and Swampert. Since Registeel only gets enough attack EVs to harm some frailer stuff, Toxic is basically it's only way of harming stuff.
-Ice Punch hits Dragons and Roserade. It also gives great coverage with Earthquake. And that's about it.
-Explosion is to go kamikazi on things that I don't have a hope of beating under the circumstances, or just as a last ditch attempt (usually not just an attempt) if I don't have enough HP left to do anything.
-Earthquake hits Heatran, Jirachi, and Lucario. Great coverage with Ice Punch. Yeah.
Why these EVs?
Umm...this is where I kinda falter. These are EVs from the UU Tank set, and I haven't changed them yet. Mostly because I'm not entirely sure what to change them to. I kinda would like to hit things harder, but not lose much bulkyness. Halp.

The Paradoxical Electric Bird
145.png

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Bold ~~~ Pressure
252HP/228Def/32Spe
-Thunderbolt
-Heat Wave
-HP Grass
-Roost
Why this Pokemon?
Zapdos is a great physical wall. It boldly strikes back at Scizor, Metagross, Jirachi, Swampert and Gyarados. And Roosts off war wounds to fight another day. Also he just looks badass. :P
Why these moves?
-Thunderbolt is here over Discharge because of the extra base power TB has. While the Paralysis would be useful, it is only a 1/5 chance. And thunderbolt can still paralyse.
-Heat Wave provides much-needed coverage over a bunch of the pokemon listed above and more. Also has a 10% burn chance.
-HP Grass is better than Ice in my opinion. Mostly because Swampert is a common switch-in to Zapdos (and for some reason they never see it coming), though it won't OHKO, it almost always will if they have taken some damage beforehand.
-Roost is eccential to Zapdos's longevity. While it rids him of his Rock weakness, it adds a dangerous Ground weakness, but what can ya do?
Why these EVs?
It gives Zapdos great physical bulkyness to deal with the afore mentioned threats. I don't believe you can really make it better, unless more SpA EVs are needed.

The Wish Passer
380.png

Latias @ Leftovers
Timid ~~~ Levitate
128SpA/252Spe/128HP
-Dragon Pulse
-Wish
-Protect
-Roar/Calm Mind
Why this Pokemon?
Latias is a pretty good wish-passer. It has a fire, water, grass, electric, and fighting resistances and can outspeed a good portion of the metagame. It also can take physical hits better than Blissey and hits harder and more things than Vaporeon (because of the EVs).
Why these moves?
-Dragon Pulse is her only attack move, it gets STAB and hits almost everything for neutral damage. (But you knew that.;) )
-Wish is obvious on this set. It is there mostly Registeel and Swampert, but Machamp and Dusknoir also don't mind having backup.
-Protect allows me to scout for attacks, get a turn of leftover recovery, and mimic Recover with wish.
-Roar is there in case Swampert can't handle it. But there isn't really anything that Latias can Roar away that Swampert can't. With the exception of CM Suicune and one or two more. So I want to try out CM to add onto Latias's bulkyness and help her hit harder. Your thoughts?
Why these EVs?
They let her outspeed a great number of pokes, as well as tank some hits and do some damage. There might be room for improvement, though.

Old Faithful (New Twist)
260.png

Swampert @ Leftovers
Relaxed ~~~ Torrent
252Def/252HP/4Atk
-Waterfall/Hydro Pump
-Superpower
-Stealth Rock
-Roar
Why this Pokemon?
Swampert is a dependable physical wall. Boosting great all-around defences and an electric immunity. With the wacked moveset, it can safely deal with Blissey and Tyranitar as lay down SR and phaze.
Why these moves?
-Waterfall/Hydro Pump is my STAB of choice and also get a Torrent boost. I'm using Waterfall right now because it lets Superpower knock off the rest of Blissey's HP after a Waterfall. However hitting stuff on the other side is definately an option...
-Superpower is hilarious. I can't count the number of people who have unexpectedly got their TTar's OHKOd by a Swampert. It comes as a great suprise, and while the stat drops suck, I'm probably not staying in much longer when they switch in a counter.
-Stealth Rock is a staple on any team. It breaks down Gyara and Mence and breaks sashes. Good stuff.
-Roar lets Swampert be a reliable phazer. He can take lots of hits, do damage via SR, and ruin stat-upper's plans.
Why these EVs?
They are the standard Swampert EVs. They provide maximum defensive prowess.

The Under-Rated Phantom
477.png

Dusknoir @ Leftovers
Impish ~~~ Pressure
252HP/228Def/28Atk
-Shadow Sneak
-Will-o-Wisp
-Pain Split
-Earthquake
Why this Pokemon?
Dusknoir is often seen as outclassed by Rotom-A. But there are a few reasons on why Dusknoir fits my team better:
-Physical attacks
-Priority
-EQ
-Higher Defences (low HP is fixed w/ Pain Split.
-And "Dusknoir" sounds cooler. (P.S. I need a good nickname for Dusknoir)
Why these moves?
-Shadow Sneak is the only priority move on my team. And I use it often to pick off nearly-dead enemies. Also 2HKOs frail special attackers like Gengar and Alakazam.
-Will-o-Wisp is my back-up for things like Salamence, Metagross, Gyarados, and Lucario. I don't mind Heatran switching into WoW, I'll be hurting like hell, but I can KO back with EQ.
-Pain Split is Dusknoir's only way of healing (outside of Rest and Wish). And it works well in conjunction with Dusknoir's God-awful HP stat.
-Earthquake hits Heatran hard when it tries to switch into WoW. It also lets me battle off Lucario (unless it got a SD in and carries Crunch.)
Why these EVs?
Standard Tank EVs. They work quite well and I don't think I'll change them around soon.

So there you have it-my second RMT. Thanks for reading, that took a lot of effort to write (twice >.>) and I'm looking forward to reading your advice and criticism(well, most of it).

Wow, it logged me off again. >.> Good thing I copied it before I posted it. >.>

Reserved for Threat List if I get around to it.

Yeah, I hate it when it logs you out when you try to post a team :P. Anyway, I feel like to mention something, Sub on your machamp lead won't prevent roserade from sleeping it because roserade is faster and will oftenuse sleep powder first.

but besides that, this looks like a pretty cool team with some original movesets. good luck!

Substitute is there to make sure Roserade can only use Sleep Powder the FIRST time around (Lum Berry prevents the sleep first time). Roserade's Focus Sash prevents it from dying to one of Machamp's attacks immediate, so she has another oppurtunity to put him to sleep.

Often in that situation of Roserade leads, I hit it once, either take teh sleep and switch out to Dusknoir to Shadow Sneak it, or it will hit itself in confusion and not have any TS up.

SubEncore on such a slow Pokemon in the OU environment isnt going to be very useful. Machamp outspeeds Swampert leads, so you will be wasting a turn Encoring when you could be Dynamic Punching its ass. I suggest not trying this set (now a gimmick) at all, as the common leads provide better utility, and there are plenty of other, better, antileads. Suppose Machamp dies to whatever it is (i.e. Azelf locked on Psychic not Stealth Rock) or has to switch and takes a shitload of damage on the way out. What did he just accomplish? This lead, along with Encore Ape was once a fun trick, but now it accomplishes little, especially as Infernape can set up SR and Machamp cannot. All he does is attack and Sub. This set (or one similiar to it) is better left in a different slot if you ask me. Also, you haven't explained how it has been successful or not, which is the key to using a lead that isnt of the norm.

Registeel is a seriously underrated Pokemon in the OU metagame because he seriously can't do a whole lot that other 'Mons can't do already. Registeel draws Rotom forms in like a magnet, he also lacks recovery. He does not check Salamence as Mence carries either EQ or Fire Blast to annihilate him, while Salamence may survive the Ice Punch. Also, if Registeel does survive one his attacks and KO's, the whole 'no longer being a wall at 15% HP' kinda sucks.

Before I go any further, I'd like to point out that this team looks like the work of someone who hasn't lurked enough or played enough of the OU metagame to get an idea of what is really out there. You managed to create a pretty good thread, but forgot the whole point of posting an RMT. You first play with it, then analyze what you did right in making it and what you didnt do right. The moment I spot Registeel (a UU tank set no less), Zapdos (Standard as well), and Dusknoir, I first want to know why you have them there, and where you have been playing Shoddy. I see no gimmick save the Machamp which has been invented already as a gimmick and an effective one if played correctly (you apparently didn't play with it or you would know you cannot encore Swampert). Therefore, Zapdos, Dusknoir, Registeel... why? Use what works, not what you THINK works.

Now, after you have weathered all my rage, I'd like to say that I don't intend to destroy the fact that you made an RMT, I'm just trying to give you a little perspective. And one of those perspectives is that never once did you state 'exactly' why you use what you use, which would lead me to the conclusion that although you "think" it is good, it is far from it without that knowledge of 'why'. Your descriptions are lackluster, and it seems you picked certain Poke's out of convenience.

I don't normally rate like this, but it was evident on my "first glance" that you didn't know what you were doing. If perhaps you would like to know what you are doing, or show you actually do know, then maybe lurking around a bit more (meaning, go test the team 50 times, learn something, come back... fix thread...), and read some archived threads to get a good picture of what makes a good thread or a good team in general.

Now that my lecture is over... I am such a (BAN ME PLEASE)... sorry for uh... the verbal abuse. Just hear me out. I would rate your team, I'm just not sure how except to tear it apart and start over again. =(

Hi, I would say that metagross does the same thing as registeel, but better. you can use any set, but a special defensive set would be the most similar, I would give you the set, but I an terrible at making ev spreads and I don't know the ones normally used. If you go with the special defensive spread, use meteor mash, earthquake, explosion, and ice punch/thunderpunch. Like DarkCyberelf, I can't really rate it without tearing it apart, however I think it does have some potential, my best advice is to play around with it some more and test out many things. The main problem is that it does not accomplish anything. This is okay, but teams that have a theme tend to do better. I do, however, applaud you for trying out less used pokemon, such as registeel and leadchamp, which is more than most of us can say. Gl with the team btw.

I'm not really gonna get into rating the team, but if the only attack move your using on Latias is Dragon Pulse, wouldn't Draco Meteor be a better choice (provided, you run roar over calm mind). I can understand it if you run Calm Mind over Roar, but with Draco Meteor, you would get a more powerful attack.

Battling right now, actually. Lemme try out this quoting stuff:

SubEncore on such a slow Pokemon in the OU environment isnt going to be very useful. Machamp outspeeds Swampert leads, so you will be wasting a turn Encoring when you could be Dynamic Punching its ass. Also, you haven't explained how it has been successful or not, which is the key to using a lead that isnt of the norm.

First, I'd sub first instead of Encoring on Swampert. I probably could've mentioned that. Then encore behind a sub and smack whatever comes in.
If Azelf psycics then I might survive, but otherwise I'm ****ed.
It is just a fun trick, but as I've learned, fun tricks can be a bitch, it has been very successful. Sometimes I wish I did have another lead, though.

Maybe Registeel wasn't a great choice. Considering he just got slaughtered. >_> What do you recommend in his place? Actually... but then I still have a weakness to Dragons. Hmm...

Before I go any further, I'd like to point out that this team looks like the work of someone who hasn't lurked enough or played enough of the OU metagame to get an idea of what is really out there. While you do make a good point (not the lurking one-you'd be surprised), maybe I was a little too hasty when making this team.
Also I stated in the intro that I'm playing on Wi-Fi, not Shoddy. :P

Thanks for the rates everyone. (Or half-rates.) I think that I will swap Registeel out for Metagross and try CM over Roar on Swampert.

I really don't want to change LeadChamp, though I might throw him in a different slot.
