Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Your mistake is assuming the egg would come on frame 1. There are wandering NPCs in Solaceon, so you have to calibrate each time you go for an egg. What frame did you end up getting? Take that frame, subtract 4(for the 2 flips you did), and use that number as the frame the pokemon starts on.

EDIT: Wait, are you checking to make sure you hit the right seed with the coin flips?

I don't know how to check if i hit the right seed with the coin flips (lol)

;). In RNG reporter next to your target spread, there is a 10 coin flip combination to the right.
After you collect the egg, do 10 flips to make sure you hit your "delay."

And yeah, you need to recalibrate your "egg" every time you do a breed. With Fast hatch and Iv check, it should only take 3 minutes per calibration, I normally do 3-4 calibrations so I can see roughly what my most common "starting" frame is, before I collect the egg.

Once you collect the egg, before you hatch it, go to the coin flip app and flip the coin 10 times. Mark down the results you get or input them directly into RNG Reporter(via the "Search Flips" button). The Pokeball is Tails and Magikarp is Heads. Once you know what delay you hit it's fairly easy to manually search the IVs to see what frame you hit. Adjust the delay and frame accordingly and then huzzah flawless breed.

EDIT: Destiny is too fast for me :P

Another question here! I've managed to hit my delay perfectly fine now ^.^ But when it comes to frames it's another story =P

If you know that you will hit a certain frame, like 6 for an example and dont find any spreads that's good enough for that frame, should you like try on a higher frame? I saw in the guide that you could use even numbers if you know you land on an even frame and such.

Should you advance the frame when the journal pops up at the beginning or after you close it down and put it up again through the item menu? O.o

Advance the frame when the journal first pops up before you collect the egg. Each time it shows a page with at least one message about a caught pokemon(including when the journal loads) the frame will go up by 2. Once you have flipped enough close the journal and collect the egg. So yes, if your egg is on an even frame you should aim for a spread on an even frame that is higher then the initial frame.

EDIT: Gotcha this time Destiny

Okay, say you've found your "target" spread in the game.
You now need to calibrate your frames.
To do this, synch your time.
Reset at say 12:00, so you enter the game at 12:00:14. Your journal should pop up. Now quickly press start and collect egg.
Catch a pokemon and check it's Ivs to find your seconds and delay.
Then click generate with the RNG reporter having the heading "Breeding DPPt"
Your egg's Ivs should match with one from the drop-down arrow.
Look at the frame.
Do this a few times so you know exactly what frame you're hitting.

Now you find a spread, if you're hitting say frame 8 every time, then you need to find a spread that's got an even number that works with your parents. And if you land on an odd frame, you look for target frames which are odd.

Has the sweet scent encounter slots for HGSS been figured out? I just caught 30 pokes in the Ilex Forest to find a slot for Metapod, and unfortunately I'm having pokes double up in the same slot, for example:

Metapod Naive 3 25 15 21 12 12 - SLOT 4
Caterpie Relaxed 10 19 20 15 31 14 - SLOT 4

I'm assuming Method K must allocate the encounter slots differently, I'm purposely not using a sync to narrow the amount of spreads appearing but this has me buggered... Any help?

Edit: Guess this will have to go on my pending projects list for a little longer (its getting bloody big!), back to running through the E4 for my Entei <_<

Ok..
I have been trying to gather information about RNG abusing on HG/SS and I am nearly ready I think.
So far I found out that Method K is everything but the roamers.
Meaning I have to find Method K time/spreads/frames in order to RNG abuse for anything I want on HG/SS.

Now I am still lost about advancing.
Someone said walking in areas with Wild Pokemon advances the RNG.
Kazo mentioned "save state" without any further explanations.

My question is:
How do I advance frame on HG/SS? Possibly the easiest and most efficient way please =).
(full guide/documentation would be even better, so I can catch all the changes in HG/SS.)

Save state is when your playing on an emulator or similar where you can save the game in its current state, not by using the save game option in the game. That way you can keep restarting on the same seed without having to SR for it.

As far as frame advancing goes, there is no true fool proof method anyone can list you, most of the time every seed advances at its own pace, de-tuning the radio is one method, but one one seed it might do you 2 frames and on another it might do 5. The method I use is to sweet scent to check my seed, then sweet scent a few more times for large advances, then encounter what it is I'm after, find out what frame its on, then I'll reset for my seed again, follow the same procedure except before encountering it again I'll walk the required amount of steps in the grass or a cave(depends where you are) to get me to the frame I want

EG. I want frame 250, I'll sweet scent to verify my seed, if its correct I'll probly sweet scent and run from battle 4 more times, I'd then straight away encounter my target, say I caught it on frame 234. I'd then repeat, Sweet scent to verify, 4 more sweet scents BUT then I'd walk/turn 16 times where there are wild pokes. 234+16=250

Best explanation I had so far.
Cheers!
Seeing it practically helps more I gues. bearsfan092's videos on youtube made me start RNG abusing =).

Anyways I get what you mean, so we kinda do it the longer way.. but whatever, as long as it works.

Ditto - Platinum

for ditto in the trophy garden can anyone tell me what seed/frame they use for an all 31 spread. Someone mentioned encounter slot 6 - but all the spreads ive checked so far dont have encounter 6. If someone could tell me what seed/frame has a good chance id appreciate it.

Seed: D2140289
Timid
31/31/31/31/31/31
And it doesnt have an Encounter Slot 6 but it does have 7 which you can still get Ditto with :)
There are two Encoutner Slots for Trophy Garden Pokemon
6 For the current Pokemon of the day
and 7 for the Previous one, so just make sure you make Ditto the Previous Pokemon of the day and Ditto will be Encoutner Slot 7 :)

One method that wasn't mentioned above that DOES work 100% of the time is walking 128 steps with X pokes in your party THAT DOES advance consistently 100% of the time. The trick then is to learn to hit high delays so you can have the spread you want on like frame 4 or whatever. :P

so i just make sure ditto was yesterday's trophy pokemon on the day i set the ds clock? Sorry for the noobism - just trying to get my head round it

Yup, have Ditto as the Current Pokemon, then change your DS clock and then activate the new Pokemon of the Day and that makes Ditto the Previos Pokemon and it now has an Encounter Slot 7

This Shiny Egg Spread is giving me some trouble;
2010/01/14 | 20:07:14 | 606 | 555E4EC9 | Jolly | 1 | M | 17 Taps | 8 Flips.

Every time I manage to hit my delay and the go through tapping and flipping I get a Female Jolly pokémon instead of what I want. I've done it 3 times already and it's getting a bit frustrating.

Somehow I manage to advance the iRNG more than what I should since a lonely female comes after the jolly one when I search in the RNG Reporter with the seed.

My question is, Is there other Pokétch Apps that advances the frame that I somehow flip over to? Or is it other things that advances the frame that I'm not aware off.

Shouldn't be, since I used the same ditto for my Rotom. The Starly I'm breeding with did I breed myself as I did with rotom's parent. Unless it's different for genderless pokémon? O.o

Well, the nearest Lonely spread on that seed is 6 frames away. You either counted wrong on the flips/taps, or put the wrong parent in. Are you checking your delay with coin flips or by catching?

No, the only two ways to advance the Egg Attributes-related RNG are the Coin Flip and the Happiness Checker App. Some things that can go wrong here:

  • Doing Happiness Checker double-taps with fewer than six Pokemon in your party
  • International parents - you seem to have been able to rule this out as a cause.
  • Leaving the Happiness Checker app on the Poketech when you enter the daycare. It advances the RNG frame when you go into buildings.
  • Not doing all ten coin flips to verify your seed before starting the flips for the desired attributes.

That's all I can think of, and I hope it helps.

Im checking the delay with flipping coins. Somewhere along the way I suppose it messed up. Ill try another seed to see if its the pokémon Im breeding with that is at fault or just me at counting o.O;

I've already released Entei and Raikou in HG, does that mean that I can't rng for them anymore? If not, then how do I?
You can, I'm doing it right now =D You need to kill them both, then defeat Lance of the E4 on your desired seed/frame for them to be rereleased with your Nature and IV, not the easiest thing to do but manageable
