The Odd Bunch *the first OU team*

Hello, Meh name is Lolitar... Ok. Here it goes. I built this team, Since i had just discovered the Competitive side of pokemon. I wanted Something that alot of people used, to start off with. This isn't a copy and paste team of someone else though. But these are some commonly used OU pokemon. I know after you see the first 3 pokemon, you'll think im veering torwards a sandstorm team.. but no.

Lead

Gliscor
Trait: hyper cutter
Nature: Impish
Item: leftovers
Ev's: 252 hp, 4 atk, 252 def
Moves
Earthquake
Ice fang
Stealth rock
Roost

As I was pondering how to start off my first team, I was wandering through pokemon diamond and pearl episodes, and saw one where a gligar evolved into a gliscor, And i knew it was for me. I went around studying gliscor, seeing how amazing it was. A 4x ice weakness and 2X water weakness is a small price to pay for this pokemon. He can easily set up stealth rock, And last in the game with roost. If my opponent has a dragon lead, Ice fang kills. If they run metagross, earthquake says hello.

Tyranitar
Nature: Adamant
Item: Leftovers
Ev's: 76 hp, 252 atk, 180 spd.
Moves
Earthquake
Dragon dance
Taunt
Stone edge
Yep, We all know the beast known as DD-Tar. 4th gen gave it some awesome advantages. Now as this pokemon is also weak to ice type, I was getting a little concerned. But i put it in just in case. The taunt move is just to stop any other dancers. Taunt prevents them, while tyranitar gobbles them up. The hp investment is a major help with leftovers to set up dragon dance.
Shiny_Vaporeon.png

Vaporeon
Nature: Bold
Item: Leftovers
Ev's: 188 hp, 252 def, 68 special attack.
Moves
Surf
Ice beam
Toxic
Wish
I was pondering what pokemon I should have. I noticed both my pokemon so far didn't have any healing abilities other than leftovers. I needed a pokemon that could heal itself and be a dragon counter, if gliscor was dead. So I chose Wishporeon, a good water type, and very nicely done.
If any pokemon needed to be replaced it MIGHT be this one.. but im not sure... I have been veering torwards lapras.. but im not sure.

Electivire
Nature: Adamant
Item: Expert belt
Ev's: 4 hp, 252 atk, 252 spd.
Moves
Earthquake
Cros chop
Ice punch
Thunder punch
I was thinking I needed an electric type, something to counter dd-gyrados and water types. I chose this guy because well, he's the classic water killer. The reason he has expert belt is because this set makes all his hits super effective to 13 of the 18 types.
02-scizor.jpg

Scizor
Nature: Adamant
Trait: Technician
Item: Life orb
Ev's: 32 hp, 252 atk, 224 speed.
Moves:
Bullet punch
Swords dance
Super power
Roost
As I was Looking for a new pokemon i realized something, my entire team could be one hit koed by a SD scizor, well if they played it right they could. So i thought, why not add one to my team to eliminate that problem?
Weavile.gif

Weavile, P.S: Weavile laughs at you.
Nature: Jolly
Item: Choice band
Ev's: 4 hp, 252 hp, 252 spd.
Moves
Pursuit
Low kick
Ice punch
night slash
I chose weavile as he can acctualy counter a lot of metagame threats. It can onehit ko things such as alakazam, gengar... etc. etc. And it's a good dragon counter. Electric counter... ground counter... etc. etc.

Well that's my first team! I hope you guys think its good!

Just a couple of things cos i'm getting sleepy:

Tyranitar is not weak to ice. It takes special ice attacks very well.

Here is a better set for lead Gliscor:

Gliscor@ leftovers
ability: sand veil
nature : jolly
252hp/36def/220spe
-earthquake
-Roost
-SR
-Taunt/U-Turn

Gliscor has excellent speed. You shouldn't let this go to waste. It is important, for example, for countering Lucario. 220 speed outspeeds all Lucario, and gives a jump on those using the Gliscor set from the analysis (you can max it if you want to avoid this guessing game) It also allows you to prevent SR and status moves from slower leads, and to act as an excellent wall-breaker with taunt. U-turn scouts switches effectively. Sand veil because with these moves you cannot really touch common intimidators, and an advatage is gained from your Ttars ability.

You probably want protect over ice beam on Vaporeon, for reliable recovery. You also probably want Brick Break on scizor since it doesn't lower attack.

May add a proper rate later. Good luck

Gliscor
Trait: hyper cutter
Nature: Impish
Item: leftovers
Ev's: 252 hp, 4 atk, 252 def
Moves
Earthquake
Ice fang
Stealth rock
Roost
I suggest that you have Sand Veil as the ability. This way, should Gliscor be alive when T-tar comes out, you have a chance to knock your counters off before they knock you off. I suggest that you should try Stone Edge over Ice Fang. Stone Edge can let you hit Gyarados for SE damage should they lead (not common but it can be a lead for some reason).

Tyranitar
Nature: Adamant
Item: Leftovers
Ev's: 76 hp, 252 atk, 180 spd.
Moves
Earthquake
Dragon dance
Taunt
Stone edge
I would suggest that you have Fire Punch over Taunt and Babiri Berry to deal with Scizor. You said that adding Scizor helps your Scizor problem. Well it does do that, but not that well. Babiri T-Tar with FIre Punch is a good way of ensuring Scizor goes down.

Vaporeon
Nature: Bold
Item: Leftovers
Ev's: 188 hp, 252 def, 68 special attack.
Moves
Surf
Ice beam
Toxic
Wish
I suggest that maybe Gyarados should be here. It helps lure Electric-type moves which helps your Electivire greatly.
Gyarados @ Life Orb
Adamant Nature
252 ATK, 252 SPE, 6 DEF
-Dragon Dance
-Waterfall
-Earthquake
-Ice Fang
Definately use Gyarados over Lapras any day.

Electivire
Nature: Adamant
Item: Expert belt
Ev's: 4 hp, 252 atk, 252 spd.
Moves
Earthquake
Cros chop
Ice punch
Thunder punch
Why is Electivire here? His raison d'etre is for absorbing electric type attacks. No one on your team can lure them in, so why use them? Also, it can't counter Gyarados. Gyarados OHKOs with Waterfall. However, if you use Gyarados as suggested above,
Electivire @ Expert Belt
36 Atk / 252 SpA / 220 Spe
-Thunderbolt
-HP Ice / HP Grass
-Low Kick
-Flamethrower

Scizor
Nature: Adamant
Trait: Technician
Item: Life orb
Ev's: 32 hp, 252 atk, 224 speed.
Moves:
Bullet punch
Swords dance
Super power
Roost
Its generally suggested that you run 248 HP, 252 ATK and 10 SPE. This wouldn't change in this case.

Why not use lapras? When it's running thunderbolt it would completely kill gyrados... And thanks, i like the babiri and fire punch idea. I'll run some more notes by as more suggestions come in.

Why not Lapras? Because it takes Spikes Damage, Toxic Spikes poison it on top of SR damage. It makes for 56% upon switching in whereas Dos takes 25%. The entry hazards were pretty much the only reason actually.
