Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Well it really depends on his target frame. If his frame is low, in the 20's or even 50's, it might be more reliable to do it the old fashioned way.

I've been trying to hit my 5600 delay for a few hours but although the results are close I never hit it. Usually get a delay of 5587, 5591, 5595, 5605, 5611 but never 5600! Is it because 5600 is not an odd number or something?

So just to clarify by how much does the Radio advance the RNG by and to advance it do I just have to hit one of the four buttons that let me listen to the different shows?

BINGO.... try adding a GBA cart... or something like... going to the bottom of the continue page?... (Don't know about the second thing) but that will turn it from odd/even to the other

EDIT: @ Pokethan.... there should be a post from Romsstar on the last couple of pages... look there as I don't have the time to look (Maybe I'm just lazy...) and it takes a while to explain what we know already... and what we don't know

well... as I said... a GBA cart will work... if you happen to have one.... and a DS Lite or reg (of course this provides another eason why the DSi sucks... lol)
 
To repeat my question:

I'm trying RNG breeding in DPPt, and am in the second calibration phase where I'm trying to find my frame. The guide says I should use the frame that came up most often. However, I've done six trials, and this number seems to be all over the place. I got 7, 7, 4, 4, 8, and 9.

I don't have a particular frame that appears most often. Did I do something wrong, or should I just search in the 7/8/9 area, since that seems to be where most of my values are?

I was so close...after inserting the my Emerald cart into my DS Lite, I changed the time and continued on to hit my seed. In the end I got a trainer ID of 16803 which represents a delay of 5601! Just 1/60th off! As you can see, I still get an odd delay number after inserting a GBA cart.

Okay I figured out how to check but my god, there's only one NCP in my area (route 229), and I counted how many times he turned while I coined flipped, which turned out to be 5 times till I immidiately sweet sented, and somehow the frame came out to be 29. O__O


How in the hell can that happen? I only have one roamer, and the monster number is 2, so I should of hit frame 8. What causes 21 frame jumps??? (I guess I should note that I used the Vs. Seeker in the beginning too, in an atempt to get him to turn in a fixed cycle, but he didn't want to battle, his partner did though.)
 
@acinod: That's exatly it. You are hitting only odd delays, and your target is an even delay. You'll never do it, unless your delays start hitting even for any random reason.

Yeah unfortunately you will only hit odd delays with your current setup, that happens.

Is there a seed for your ID/SID combo with an odd delay?

yeah the current RNG reporter does I think the find by stats option just goes up to 1500 maybe more less and find by IVs goes to about 3600.
 
What happens if you want to use the radio to advance the RNG and you can't tune into any shows? Cuz Im in the Lugia cave I can't tune into any shows so does that affect how much it advances the RNG by?

if theres no programs then you can't use the radio to advance frames

My understanding is you can use the radio outside the cave, but I haven't tried it yet cause I'm playing HG and haven't gotten that far.
 
Does anyone know of an alternate IV calculator that works like Metalkid's? (multiple level stats for one calculation) Its hard to use his at the moment for Ho-oh (site issues). BTW, I've found a quick circumvention method for the spreads whose target times are when buena's password is playing: Pick a time that's at the end of the hour, start tuning and detuning when the next hour starts.
Here's a good Ho-oh spread for everyone:
PID: a777c735 (ADAMANT, ability 1) 31/31/31/17/31/31 (Seed: c20b0af4 Frames - 1: 41, J (synch): 16, J (no synch): 22, K (synch): 2, K (no synch): 40) HP DARK 59. The times are between 11 and 12, when Buena's password is on. Just pick a time that's 11:59 and wait till 12.

1. Can you search for delays greater than 999 in the DPPt capture time finder?

2. I'm trying to RNG for Raikou based on the following instructions: http://www.smogon.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2537867&postcount=16027
I think I'm using PikaTimer correctly. My calibrated delay/seconds were 491 and 13, respectively. My wanted delay/seconds are 1154 and 1. (The time I'm going for is 2010/03/28 at 13:30:01.) I've hit the same seed three times in a row and I'm having a hard time figuring out what it is. How can I check this easily?

(If anyone cares to know, the spread I'm getting is Sassy 23-24/25/21-22/24/8-9/25. Sorry, I don't have enough rare candies to find exact IVs.)

1) No, you can't search for higher than 999 in RNG Reporter. Use Wichu's program in the 2nd post of this thread for that.
2) Get more rare candies or try all the IV Combination until you get one that works (Check the time and delay to confirm if its a possibility). I could not get the exact ivs either. I just used enough candies (3-5) until I had only a few IV combinations left and entered all of them until I got the seed I hit.
