Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

[1] Look at the nature and then see if it corresponds with Frame 4. If it does than try and calculate the IVs to see if it matches that spread.
[2] Raikou and Entei are both calculated when they are released, not when they are captured. Therefore, the only way to get a frame 1 Entei is to capture Raikou and faint Entei, then beat the Elite 4 and Entei will be frame 1 when it is rereleased.
[3] No. It will be 1 and 6. That step won't affect the frame at all.

Thanks for the answer BTW, as I don't know yet until now. Although I'm almost OK, since I have just 2 more questions.

My desirable spread for Raikou (I'm planning to catch him first) will be:
Seed: 671102A5
PID: 217901AA
Timid nature
Frame 1
Delay: 667 in year 2010
IVs: 26/15/30/31/27/31
Hidden Power: Ice, 70

If I faint Entei after catching Raikou, then beat the E4 so that like you said will turn Entei's frame into 1, will Entei's seed still be the same as that written above? If not, then what will determine Entei's seed?

How about Lati@s as roamers? Will they be treated like Raikou/Entei post-E4?

Ok I miss my frame for a timid raikou
I hit my frame 33 sec delay for 490
My frame 41 so I tap the upper left then the lower left station alterating 13 times (to advance the frame 39)
I took 1 step where the dogs start moving.

Was this process was frame 41?
I caught a pokemon to verify my sec and delay and it waqs correct.

So, you are telling me that if I open the Radio app and it's on a specific station, that I can use that to advance the frame? What should happen w/"open" and "close" option?

Okay, I'm totally lost. I'm trying to catch a perfect IV'd Giratina with a Modest nature in Distortion World. My seed (which I have hit) is 52140289. However, according to RNGReporter, its "offset" (frame?) is 130 rather than 97. Should I be going for the "frame", or "actual frame"?

Here's my math:
Load Distortion World x2: 22
Giratina: 1
Journal Flips: 74

Should add up to 97.

EDIT: The Journal Flips is how many frames it adds up to, not the number of times I turned pages (37).

Im getting a frame of 93 withn non sync. ?
Are you using method J?
So It should be 93-# of roamers-12 (in distortion world giratina frame is 12) = 81 (you can do 40 flips but you need to advance the frame by 1)

If you have a modest sync, everything will be a little easier

I also dont get your math

Using that seed you get a frame of 93 with Method J?

EDIT: I don't get 93 with or without syncing.
EDIT2: Wait nevermind, I do get it without syncing, but not with. Weird.

And the Distortion World thing is based on this:
Notes
1 When attempting to capture Giratina in the Distortion World, there are some important differences in RNG advancement that should be taken into consideration. Each time the Distortion World map is loaded, the RNG will advance by 11 frames. This is the reason that Giratina appears on frame 12 when you immediately capture it at game start. This would not pose a problem, but most people will end up loading the map twice — once at game start, before verifying their initial seed with coin flips, and again after cancelling the journal to capture Giratina. In this scenario, the RNG would have been advanced 22 times, excluding advances made by journal flips. The simplest way to deal with this anomaly is to consider the starting frame of Giratina to be 23 in cases where you will enter the game world, bring up the journal manually, and then cancel the journal before capture.

Yes!!! :)
My second successful RNG abuse in HG...
Timid Raikou with 26/15/30/31/27/31 IVs and Hidden Power Ice 70!!!
Seed: 671102A5
PID: 217901AA
Frame: 1
(From now on, in HGSS, I'll be using max frame 1, to eliminate the hassle of advancing even more frames)

Still...I have a few unanswered questions:

1.) If I faint Entei after catching Raikou, then beat the E4 so that like you said will turn Entei's frame into 1, will Entei's seed still be the same as that written above? If not, then what will determine Entei's seed?

2.) How about Lati@s as roamers? Will they be treated like Raikou/Entei post-E4?

And 3.) I think someone said "there's no way to check your seed after E4"...
Does that apply to ALL legends? (such as Kyogre, Mewtwo, Lugia/Ho-Oh, etc...)
Or only on the runners?

Aimed at OmegaDonut, but might be relevant to others as well.

mingot and I looked into land encounter slots for Method K recently, and we're sure the slot chosen is based on the random number from frame-1 (specifically Rand(F-1) mod 100, as opposed to Method J's division by 656).

What actually goes in these slots is available in veekun's source code, but in a highly disorganized fashion. I don't see myself having the opportunity to clean that data up any time soon, so don't get your hopes up.

Does the RNG advance if the phone rings and you don't answer? If so, by how much?

To elaborate, I was RNGing Raikou post-E4 and the phone rang. My frame at that time was 108 - after the E4, Raikou matched frame 228. I took ~82 steps so even if there were "leftover" steps from a previous save or w/e, I would've only added 6 frames due to walking. The spinning NPC could've only added a few frames and battling reportedly doesn't advance frames (?).

I ended up overshooting my target frame by some 91 frames. I probably should've just ran to the E4 instead of advancing the frame from 77 to 108 with a second Sweet Scent. -_-; But I wonder how much that phone call advanced the RNG (phone call goes by internal clock time, right? I spent a lot of time in the Pokemon summary screen checking the seed and recording the stats of my initial seed Pokemon for reference) and whether or not I should ditch this particular spread due to its low frame number.

So this morning i was aiming for a nice spread on my shiny lugia and it was hasty, (i thought me searching method k with timid synch meant it would override that, apparently not) so i didn't save and went to work, i just got home and 2nd try i hit my seed and frame and caught this shiny lugia in a premier ball. timid - 30-X-18-25-30-21, i know its not amazing but its enough for me, my favorite pokemon, shiny, in my favorite/matching ball with a good enough spread. also random note: caught on my 21st birthday haha, 8/21/2010

Does the bunnery in the pokemon daycare advance the frame?
No.

What was the frame of the pokemon you battle after the 2nd Sweet Scent?

Does the fact that the only guide to abuse for shinies has to do with breeding pokemon mean you can't shiny abuse for legends?
Shiny Legends/Wild Pokemon correspond with the players ID/SID combo and have set Nature and IVs, where as Shiny eggs only correspond with Nature and Ability and IVs can be determined later. Therefore, abusing for shiny Legends is the same as abusing for non shiny legends, but if you hit a certain spread (which are different for each person) then it will be shiny. For example, I have a Shiny Spread in my HG that is 31/2/31/30/31/31 Timid and Modest natures. In other games, people will abuse for that spread and it will come up with a non shiny pokemon, however in mine it comes up shiny. In order to get shiny pokemon, you need to abuse for an ID/SID in the very beginning of the game.

Alright thanks for the response. Can you clarify the bolded portion though? I thought you only needed to know your SID through catching/chaining shines, but I havn't read anything about needed to abuse for a particular ID/SID in the beginning of the game.

Right there are the first page. Through the program you can narrow down which SIDs you could have possibly gotten while resetting for one.
