Sunglasses, too bad this is a Sandstorm. (UU RMT)

So.... I have been trying to throw together an acceptable UU Sandstorm team FOREVER now, and it's came down to this team. The team has some obvious flaws, and I have a huge Venusaur problem. However, I have absolutely no idea how I can keep the flow of a Sandstorm team, and still effectively counter the extremely difficult to counter threats like Venusaur. I run some pretty unconventional sets, but thats all part of the fun. I consider this practically a Gimmick team. Its very hard to play Sandstorm in an enviroment completely owned by Water and Grass types. However, I try and work around this, and have fun doing so. This is my favorite type of gameplay, and I plan on doing whatever I can do make it a success. :)

Here is the team, your standard Sandstorm team, with some moveset twists. This team is PURELY A Wi-Fi TEAM However, I can work with almost everything you give me. I have aplethroa of pokemon to use.

Dior @ Leftovers
Nature: Impish
Evs: Standard Hippodown EV's, besides the fact hes not a Hippodown... >.>
Moveset:
~Stealth Rock
~Earthquake
~Slack Off
~Toxic

Alright, so the basis of a UU Sandstorm team HAS to start with this little hippo! He automatically starts an ongoing Sandstorm for me, and normally sets up Stealth Rocks. He is often immediately switched out, and left for later to scout the opposing team for moves. However, he is also used for emergency Toxic's if need-be. Slack Off keeps this happy Hippopotamus healthy, and Earthquake is a general STAB.

Against the only leads I have faced with this team, surprisingly. >.>

Froslass: Stealth Rock, then switch to Quagsire and proceed to Curse Spam ( Or Cradily. Just depends if they carry Ice Beam or not. )

Ambipom: Switch to Regirock and pray the thing doesn't predict the switch and Low Kick me. I may try and stay in and Stealth Rock, however, some carry Taunt.... Also, they are commonly used as Weather leads, so I need to switch out to keep my Hippo for later, just incase!

Omastar: Oh my god is this thing SCARY. Generally, I switch out to Quagsire and proceed to Curse Spam, as he cannot hit me with Surf. If the Omastar is running Hidden Power Grass, I am screwed -.-

Cloyster: ^^ Read Omastar... However, this thing is far less Threatening, and I can set up with Quagsire on almost all of them. I can also set up with Cradily, besides the variants who carry Explosion. In rare cases, I will Stealth Rock and THEN proceed to switch. I don't like Spike leads... :(

His nickname is based off the brand Christian Dior, a well known Luxury brand. Any smart Sunglasses collector has a pair of Dior Sunglasses, and every smart Sandstorm team builder in UU HAS to have this Hippo! I thought Dior was cute on this little guy, too.

Prada @ Leftovers
Nature: Careful
Evs: 252 HP, Half into Defense, Half into Special Defense.
Moveset:
~Toxic
~Amnesia
~Iron Defense
~Rest

The surprise factor on this pokemon is drop dead fantastic. Most people think I am absolutely insane for running this set on a Registeel. However, I have noticed that this wonderful Registeel can essentially 6-0 a team without a Venusaur. Not to mention, he is great for taking out pesky offensive threats. His major problem is obvious Poison types, Taunt, and Substitute. However, in many cases, I can actually force the Substituted pokemon to switch out through straight up PP Stall or wait for Sandstorm to kill the pokemon without Leftovers. I know this isn't a great Registeel set, but I love using it. He's never failed me when I need him, and I hate playing with the conventional Registeel set.

Prada has always been amazing at reinventing the styles of sunglasses. This specific Registeel is completely "reinvented" and terrible unstandard, so I thought the name seemed to match. Not to mention, I love Prada sunglasses, and I love this crazy moveset with all my heart.

Bvlgari @ Leftovers
Nature: Careful
Evs: 252 HP, 40 Defense, 212 Special Defense
Moveset:
~Stone Edge
~Earthquake
~Rest
~Sleep Talk

This Regirock is one of those pokemon who can piss off the masses, as this team is suppose to do. The Rest-Talk variant is EXTREMELY hard to take down in a Sandstorm, nearly impossible; actually. I can't remember why the EV's are the way they are, but they seem to work quite well. He enjoys easily taking Neutral attacks from either side of the spectrul, and often ends up KO'ing the pokemon back with Stone Edge or Earthquake. I perfer him over Steelix, simply because Steelix has a lower base Special Defense, and I feel that Steelix doesn't take the Special hits anywhere near as well as Regirock can.

Bvlgari is based on both tradition and innovation. This Regirock simply fits the bill, and while he is much more manly then the rest of my team, he gets a Female Sunglasses Specialist name. Go figure.

346-m.png

Gucci @ Chesto Berry
Nature: Sassy
Evs:
252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Moveset:
~Rest
~Curse
~Seed Bomb
~Rock Slide

This set is probably the least used version of Cradily, quite honestly. I generally see the Recovering Curse variant, or the Rest Talk variant. I have fell in love with this set up of Cradily, and find him to be an absolute bastard to take down once hes finally set up. It takes a bit, but he can certainly get there. One thing I don't like about this Cradily set, is that he isn't Status "immune" like the Rest-Talk variant is. However, he has never proved to be useless. In many games, he alone can take our 3 or even 4 pokemon before he dies.

Gucci is quite a leading fashion designer, and this Cradily is no different! Who doesn't love a big pink barancle!? Whenever I wear anything Gucci, I have people getting mad at me because I spend too much money on my clothes. I can't say I get the same reaction with this Cradily... But I know some people who have actually throw their DS across the room in anger when faced with him. I think that earned his name.

195-m.png

Chanel @ Lum Berry
Nature: Sassy
Evs:
252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Moveset:
~Earthquake
~Ice Punch
~Curse
~Recover

This little pink.... Whatever you are suppose to be... Mudpuppy? Anyhow. This little pink thing absorbs all the Water Attacks for my team, literally. :) One thing I dislike about him is the fact that he adds to my huge Grass Weakness. The Lum Berry is because this guy absolutely HATES Toxic and burns. I have status absorbers, but its always good to be safe!

Quagsire is nicknamed Chanel because of the rising popularity in his usage! I have seen entire teams based around this little Mudpuppy, and Chanel has been rising in popularity lately aswell.

332-m.png

Oakley @ BrightPowder
Nature: Adamant
Evs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 HP
Moveset:
~Substitute
~Swords Dance
~Focus Punch
~Sucker Punch

This little Cacturne is literally my only Grass resistance on the team besides Registeel, and in many cases thats a TERRIBLE thing. However, this Cacturne is your standard Evasion Cacturne. I went with the choices of Focus Punch and Sucker Punch because I love playing Mind games. ;) It always leaves people guessing what I am going to do. I absolutely HATE Perish Song Mismagius on this guy, as he has NO moves to hit her with, as most variants carry no attacking moves. Hes really my clean up crew, and another pure annoyance of a pokemon. Having such a high chance of not getting hit is very fun, and I love pissing people off because of Sand Veil hax. xD It has let me down before, but I still enjoy playing him.

Cacturnes earned the name Oakley because he is the only tree on my team, and hes actually the only pure "sweeper" on my team! Oakleys are more of a sporty brand, and I consider that a rough and tough kind of thing ( TOTALLY not me. I am fragile people! )

--------------------------------------------------------------

My biggest problems is honestly Rain Dance teams. They are just EXTREMELY dangerous, and I can get run over by a smart RD player. Not to mention, if my Hippo goes down, then generally have 3 or so Rain Dance setters, so I am basically screwed. -.-

Edit: Venusaur is NO longer a problem! I found out he is Cradily set-up fodder, so it works perfectly for me. <3 Just had to actually risk myself. Sword Dance variants, however; destroy me... o.o

Thank you for reading my Sandstorm RMT. :3 I appreciate every rate.

Oke, I have an UU sandteam as well here on shoddy.
I used some unorthodox pokemons but they did the job.
One being mantine.
It absorbs water moves and can also take on the grasstypes like venasaur.
He can also suck up special hits like a beast.
I created a set lately. Dont ask me why I had the EV's , you could fix those if you wanted but those EV's worked for me.
Mantine@Leftovers.
252 hp, 176 sp.def, rest in sp.atk
-Surf
-HP Flying
-Confuse Ray
-Mirror Coat.

I would replace this over Quagsire.

The reason for these attacks are simple. I tried using a resttalk set and it just didnt work as I wanted to.
The offensive Capabality's mantine has are really not that big, so I tried a diff approach. You could even put in Toxic if you wanted.
Surf is the obvious stab which is used to hit decently.
The other being HP flying has its uses to your team. Its a STAB by Mantine who kills grasstypes namely Venasaur. Mirrorcoat is also a funny thing.
The Sp.def and mirror Coat would seem odd, but it really works.
I have killed alot of Raikou using mirrorcoat. But , you could always switch to something else.

My other suggestion is Rockpolish Rhyperior.
The standard RP set with the moveset being
-Rockpolish
-Megahorn
-Earthquake
-Rockblast.

Rockpolish is obvious. Boosting it speed makes it a deadly sweeper in the sand. Earthquake can hurt Venasaur very badly making it easier to kill at that point. Megahorn works on all the other grasstypes that could possibly be threathening you. Rockblast is used on Subwater pokemon or any Ice type that works. It also kills common HP grass users like Blaziken and Moltress.

I suggest replacing this over Regirock.

Currently, I just noticed a HUGE Hirayama weakness... We are talking "OMFG ITS A BULK UP HIRAYAMA!?! *gets swept by Brick Break spam" Mantine kind of fixes this problem with Hidden Power Flying.... I will try him out ( And I have him sitting in my boxes with a nickname that fits my team! Yay! )

I am thinking of taking up Vespiquen or even a Spiritomb. Both get hit by Sandstorm, but I seriously need a Fighting Resistance / Immunity.

I am going to use my 24 Hour bump now.... Is nobody really interested in rating my team? I'd really appreciate some help.

Currently I am testing a very unique Spiritomb build that I created. We will see how it does with my Bulk up Hariyama weakness.

I'd see like a wallbreaker like Blaziken or Magmortar ripping this team in shreads. Idk maybe throw in a Dugtrio somewhere... Also spikes, SR, && a phazer could just pretty much be devastating and leave most of the pokes in OHKO range.. Didn't get to see the team very closely as I don't hav enough time. ill probably come back later and do a full rate. && if you want a fighting resist/spinner maybe use like claydol(:

I am loving the Claydol idea! Yes! =D

Thank you so much for this short rate. Claydol seems perfect! <3

Hippopotas leads need focus sash. Most of the time they don't stay alive long enough to use leftovers.

Your registeel does nothing to steel/poisons, but you already know that. PP Stalling must be pretty dull though.

I've been experimenting with various pokemon in my uu sandstorm team as well (here's an early version to have a look at http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58212). Personally shuckle is my god, annoying my opponent and stopping many stratagies. He has brilliant synergy with quagsire as well.

I'd just like to say loved all of your battles I saw on PPN.

This team looks awesome (I actually ripped apart almost the same team not that long ago on shoddy I think somebody is jewing your team and playing it badly :P)

I do suggest either using a claydol or the manitine because yes you do have a bulk harriama weakness!

Well thank you! <3 I try my best to keep my title as a great battler over on PPN. ^^

I haven't used this team on Shoddy, so it wasn't me. :P

I am going to try and get myself a Claydol, as I am currently missing one. Mantine sits in my boxes, and waits for the day that I predict another Hariyama. :P Hariyama does still kill my Mantine, specially if it carries Thunderpunch, however. :(

Thanks for the help, and for the support! :D

Bump!

now you may be able to try and run a rock polish aggron. aggron is a very dangerous pokemon if used correctly. and u could also use a torterra. torterra could be used to help out with the rain dance teams that you will face. not many teams in uu arent rain dance. or if u want 2 you could also try and run a kabutops. he could be very good if used correctly. and he fits under the sandstorm clause.

I was thinking of running an Omastar, that way I have a way of hitting Kabutops for super effective damage ( Through Hidden Power Grass. )

Thanks for your suggestions. :)

Anyone else?

For your registeel I would reccomend curse and iron head over Iron defense and toxic. That thing absolutely runs over offensive teams without something like nasty plot jynx.
