I have trouble on breeding a flawless scyther on platinum. I have everything right on the pikatimer. When I ask the old man to give me the egg, I got it, hatch the pokemon but the IVs are not the ones I'm aiming for (frame 6), so I proceed to calibrate:

I capture a new pokemon, get the seed, I pick on the RNG Reporter the Breeding method (DPPt) and it says that the pokemon hatched is on frame 6!! What can I do?

To get the nature and ability, my DS as on April 1st 2010. I already did those steps and saved in front of the egg. The desired IVs are for April 5th, 2010, 5:00:57. I use a Platinum rom on a M3 Real flashcart, or maybe is because the journal appears with the text "caught a Staravia", which could advance the frames? Thanks in advice.

So if I restart my SoulSilver, will I have to re-download Yellow Forest? Can I do this on the same cartridge if it's a new game? Does this mean games purchased or restarted after May 5th can never access Yellow Forest?

It's a Wondercard, I believe Wondercards can be transferred between games.

ok, I'm pretty sure of this now, but can a pokemon evolve if it's evolution isn't in the local pokedex and you haven't gotten the national dex. specificaly, I'm wondering if my Golbat will ever evolve to Crobat until I get it.

EDIT: crap. thanks DDRMaster.

If the game your talking about is anything but FRLG, then Crobat is in the regional dex and Golbat will evolve. In FRLG, it won't until you get the National Dex. Pokemon like Togekiss in HGSS can't be obtained simply because you can't get the propper stone until you get the National Dex.

Edit: @ ball00nboy: Spiritomb can switch into most Psychic and Ghost Pokemon fairly easily and take them out with Sucker Punch or Pursiut.

I have a question. I was doing some recent browsing around the breeding guides when I stumbled onto the IV guy in Emerald who talks a Pokemon's best IVs. Normally when I would read this I'd breeze over it because I don't own Emerald, but I noticed a similarity between this man and a man in the Battle Tower in HG and SS. Has anyone been doing research on this guy?
I've done my own personal research on him, but I don't want to post it with the assumption that someone else already has posted about it, and with much more precise results and info.

So once again, has anyone done any research on the IV man in the Battle Tower for HG and SS, and where can I find the post discussing it?I have tried multiple times to search for any posts about it, but I can't be bothered with a search device that only gives me errors everytime I search.

Say Ditto is breeding with a male Pokemon would he count as a female and pass on the nature? Can IVs be passed through him?

Thanks in advanced.

He doesn't count as a female, but it will pass the nature if it's holding an Everstone. It also passes IVs.

Whats an SID? A Secret ID? what is it for/ do for you?

It doesn't do anything unless you want to RNG abuse Shiny Pokémon; then you need to know it to know what frames give you a shiny.

Only in XD.

Ditto's Nature can be passed if you give it an Everstone. IVs can be passed from Ditto like it does for any other Pokemon.

It stands for Secret ID. It's used to determine if you get a shiny Pokemon as well as certain things in the game like the spots where you can find a Feebas. You need to know it if you want to RNG abuse for shiny Pokemon.

ok, but whats RNG and how do you abuse it to catch shiny pokemon?

RNG stands for random number generator. The random number generator in Pokemon (as well as most things) isn't actually random, but goes through a set of numbers that determines everything that has a chance of happening in the games. RNG abuse is starting the game at a certain time so that the random number generator will give you a specific number at a certain point that will generate a good Pokemon for you. You can read more about it here.

Thanx for the help :)

Two questions:

In emerald, and MAYBE HGSS, when you beat certain gyms, the gym leader says, "Now that you beat this gym, x stat will grow faster. How does this actually work? If you try to EV a guy before beating all the gyms, will they not have maxed out stats?

Do shiny pokemon appear shiny in the overworld in HGSS before you're about to catch them? I want to say yes because of the red gyarados, however I want proof. If it is true, it would mean not having to go to battle to see if the pokemon is shiny or not.

No, the game generates whether or not the Pokemon is shiny when you enter the battle with it (excluding roamers). The Red Gyarados is always shiny so the game can assume it's shiny before you enter the battle.

What would you consider to be the best HM Slaves in HG? My team was going to be Feraligatr, Ampharos, Fearow, Arcanine (Replaced by Ho-Oh later) and then two HM slaves.

If I can't have two hm slaves with most if not all hms, which HM moves should go to which pokemon?

I'd have to say the best none-flyer HM slave is Munchlax. Not only does it have the ability Pick Up (out of two abilities), it can learn surf, strength, whirlpool, rock smash, and rock climb.
