Sandstorm Team

This is an idea for a sandstorm team. All suggestions are welcome. As for the EV spread, I'm not sure about it yet so I will need some suggestions there as well.

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe
Nature: Jolly
- Iron Head
- Stealth Rock
- Trick
- U-Turn

The basic Jirachi lead. Basically there are two ways of using this. One is to trick your choice scarf to the opponent so that they are stuck with one move, hopefully a non-attacking move like stealth rock. After, I use my own Stealth Rock and either continue with Iron Head or retreat with U-Turn.
The second option would be just start out with a super quick Iron Head (Jolly Nature+Choice Scarf) and begin attacking without setting up stealth rock to try and destroy the opposing lead/make it flinch.

Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sandstream
EVs:4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Nature: Jolly
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit
- Crunch
- Earthquake

Usually the pokemon that follows Jirachi would be my Tyranitar. He is to mainly summon a sandstorm to get the sandstorm damage going on the other team. He is also a physical sweeper with a high attack and a choice scarf making its speed higher than most non scarfed pokemon.

Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs:248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe
Nature: Adamant
- U-Turn
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Pursuit
The second of my 3 physical sweepers. Scizor is my priorty pokemon who can give out a 180 base power Bullet Punch with the help of Technician, Stab and Choice Band. Basically just an amazing sweeper to start off or end off the game with.

Aerodactyl @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Nature: Jolly
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Aqua Tail
- Ice Fang

My last physical sweeper. With one of the fastest base speeds, Aerodactyl makes for a wonderful sweeper. Paired with life orb, Aerodactyl can be super deadly.

Magnezone @ Life Orb
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 40 Atk / 252 SpA / 216 Spe
Nature: Mild
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power
- Flash Cannon
- Explosion

One of my two exploders/special sweepers on this sandstorm team. With hidden power fire, this is no need of being scared of steel type pokemon or having they switch out. Magnezone's unique ability and HP fire will take care of all those steel types with the extra boost of Life Orb.

Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs:4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Naive
- Flamethrower
- Earth Power
- Explosion
- Dragon Pulse

The last pokemon of the party. Heatran's ability is a great cover for both scizor and magnezone because it not only blocks off all fire moves but also boosts it fire attacks. With choice scarf, its sweeper ability is incredible and at low health when switching back out, can use explosion to bring its foe along with it.

That is the basically outline of my sandstorm team. I would like some suggestions on the EV outline and also whether or not I should add Hippowdon on this team and take out another. I have been debating with myself about Hippowdon because of its sandstream ability and its high attack and defence making it an overall good pokemon to be on a sandstorm team. Please give your reason why and what moveset you would give it.

Thanks!

I know you want advice on EV spreads, but you have to post complete teams on this forum, so please do so or I will have to lock! ;)

Alright, I've added EV spreads to the pokemon.

Anyways, any suggestions anyone? All suggestions are welcome.

Hmm. I see no walls. Is that on purpose?
Second, please specify what HP you have on Magnezone. I recommend Grass to cover Water and Ground/Rock types. Also: Salamence and Metagross would tear your team apart. Meta might E-quake your Heatran and Sala could tear through nearly the entire team if dragon danced. Also, I recommend changing Crunch to Superpower for more coverage on T-tar.

I was thinking about Hippowdon being my wall but I wasn't sure what to switch it for. I was planning to do HP fire for Magnezone to kill steel types like scizor. Any other suggestions?

Sand Storm teams are epic win. lolz That doesn't mean all your Pokemon have to be immune to sand storm but I really love the theme.

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf

Nature: Jolly
- Iron Head
- Stealth Rock

This guy's pretty decent as a lead if you ask me. I'll suggest you better lead. Jirachi just adds more ground weakness to your team.

Hippowdon
Item: Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 SpD
Nature: Impish
~ Earthquake
~ Slack Off
~ Stealth Rock
~ Roar

Now that you have a decent lead on to the next step.XD

Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sandstream
EVs:4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Nature: Jolly
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit
- Crunch
- Earthquake

Something to counter Gyarados. Tyranitar's good but one dragon dance and you whole team gets run over by Gyarados.

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
188 HP / 252 Def / 68 Spe
Nature: Bold
~ Wish
~ Protect
~ Surf
~ Hidden Power Electric

Vaporeon gives you a decent way to take out Gyarados and wish support is awesome for sure.

- Pursuit

Nothing to say here. We all know how awesome Scizor is.XD

Aerodactyl @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Nature: Jolly
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Aqua Tail
- Ice Fang

I personally love Aerodactyl as a sweeper instead of the commonly seen Lead. You've nothing to counter Swampert.

Use a Celebi
Item: Leftovers
EVs:252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spe
Nature: Bold
~ Leaf Storm
~ Recover
~ Heal Bell
~ Leech Seed

I will suggest a Healer since Vaporeon and Hippowdon are useless if poisoned. No need to worry about Swampert anymore. Use Grass Knot over Leaf Storm if you fear the Special Defense drop. Recover is for more survival time. Use Leech Seed to annoy your opponent even more. lolz

My last physical sweeper. With one of the fastest base speeds, Aerodactyl makes for a wonderful sweeper. Paired with life orb, Aerodactyl can be super deadly.

Magnezone @ Life Orb
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 40 Atk / 252 SpA / 216 Spe
Nature: Mild
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power
- Flash Cannon
- Explosion

HP Fire is recommended if you ask me since Scizor can 1 hit KO you with Super Power if it's Life Orbed. Thunder bolt is a 2 hit KO anyway. Use Substitute over Flash Cannon. Flash Cannon doesn't cover anything. Magnet Rise is also another good option. It's a better option than Substitute actually. You'll be able to trap and kill Metagross while avoiding Earthquakes.

Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs:4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Naive
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power Electric or Grass
- Explosion
- Dragon Pulse

I know what you're thinking. "WTF no Earth Power?!?!" Consider Life Orbed Starmie as threat. Grass or Electric allows you to take it out. Electric also covers Gyarados and and weakened water types. Grass covers Swampert and Water types again. You've Celebi to counter Swampert so electric seems good. It's your choice. Use whichever you want.^^

The last pokemon of the party. Heatran's ability is a great cover for both scizor and magnezone because it not only blocks off all fire moves but also boosts it fire attacks. My rate is in Bold. Sorry if all my suggestions kind of sound stall based. I'm a stall based battler so I tried to help you with what I'm good at.^^
