This team is meant to NOT be your average Kyogre rain dance, Abomasnow hail, t-tar sandstorm, etc. I wanted something original, effective, and fun to use at the same time. This is my first time i will be going to the VGC, and also my first time using ubers. So all help is appreciated.
This is the third(and hopefully last haha) time creating a VGC team in the past week. Thanks in advance for your help
Gengar@ Expert Belt
Ability: Levitate
Nature:Timid
EVs: 6 hp/252 Sp.Atk/252 Speed
~Shadow Ball
~Sludge Bomb
~Thunder
~Protect
Gengar is chosen because he is very versatile and can damage a lot of the enemy pokemon for good damage such as kyogre, giratina, lugia, ho-oh, abomasnow, latios. His EV's are extremely obvious as to why they were chosen. Shadow Ball is a move meant for Giratina, Lugia, Latios, Latias. Sludge Bomb is his most powerful stab which i will use when all options are neutral. It is also super effective against the ever-so-common abomasnow. T-Bolt/Thunder is for kyogre but is also effective against other flying types. Protect is for protection. The only poke that i can think of atm that totally walls this is Dialga, but my next poke helps with that.
Swampert@ Lefties
Ability: Torrent
Nature: Adamant
EV's: 252hp/252atk/6def
~EQ
~Waterfall
~Ice Punch
~Protect
I don't know if starting off w/out any of my ubers is a bit odd, but this seems to make the most sense to me. He's meant to be able to work really well with Gengar, and also do lots of damage. There isn't any point in putting any speed on him, so he has max attack and max hp. EQ is to help with the things, such as dialga, that wall gengar, plus its an AWESOME stab move. It works well with gengar cuz of levitate. Waterfall is also another good stab, useful against mon like ho-oh and others. Now the last two slots are where i could use some help. I really don't know if Protect is necessary, if its not, then i would probably go with Low Kick and Rock Slide. Please help me on this.
Ho-Oh@ Charti Berry
Ability:Pressure
Nature:Jolly
EV's: 252 atk/252speed/6hp
~Sacred Fire
~Brave Bird
~EQ
~Roost
Ho-Oh is surprisingly underused. I understand the weariness of Rock type moves, but its not like its that hard to avoid. The EV's are meant to create him into a physical sweeper. Sacred Fire is a sweet stab move with a 50% chance to burn! Brave Bird is his strongest move, but I have to be careful with the recoil. EQ is for use against people like T-Tar and the others who resist his primary two moves. I chose roost over Protect because i think its more useful on him because it heals you, and also drops the flying type for that turn. Please help me decide on his nature.
Rayquaza @ yache berry
Ability: Air Lock
Nature:Jolly
~Dragon Claw
~Earthquake
~Extreme Speed
~Protect
This is most likely my replacement for Giratina unless you all find it completely horrible. Dragon claw is his stab move, good for use against dragons. EQ works extremely well on my team so its almost a given. Extreme Speed is a must on Ray. Now for the last slot i chose protect after much deliberation. Jolly nature for the speed boost.
Well anyway thanks in advance for all of your help and revisions to me team.
Feel free to comment on ANY aspect of the team, for i can use any help.
