The Team that Never Dies (or so I thought)

Hey smogonites, I made another team here. I came up with this team not too long ago. I didn't put much thought into it, and didn't change anything. However, I tested it for a while and racked up around 9 wins and around 2-ish losses.

So, I introduce The Team that Never Dies (or so I thought)

Edits will be in Yucky Green

Lance (Dragonite) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk/4 Spd/252 SAtk
Quiet nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Extremespeed
- Earthquake

Okay, this is the standard Anti-Lead Dragonite. It works quite well against many leads with raw power (bar mamoswine, who carries Ice Shard). Draco Meteor puts a giant dent in anything that isn't made of metal. Fire Blast does great damage against Steels not named Metagross or Bronzong. Earthquake provides a decent physical attack after using Draco Meteor. And Extremespeed picks off of frail leads or focus sash users. The Dragon gets it's job done in anti-leading.

i_tyranitar.gif

Jawsh (Tyranitar) (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 160 HP/252 Atk/96 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Earthquake

With Choice Scarf Tyranitar widely popular, it's the perfect time to use other Tyranitar sets. I picked the Choice Band set, as it has raw power right off the bat, no setup required. The opponent will usually be caught off guard, and I can deal heavy damage (even with resisted hits), making my opponent at a more cautious position. Tyranitar is a great way at dealing heavy damage.

i_scizor.gif

Gear (Scizor) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP/80 Atk/176 SDef
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Brick Break
- Roost

Some of you might recognize this scizor. Yes, it is essentially LR's specially defensive scizor, without the extra speed evs. I usually send this thing in on walls and tanks not named Dusknoir, set up a swords dance and get ready to sweep. Roost is there if I feel I need to heal myself, bullet punch is there for the oh-so-obvious, and Brick Break over Superpower because I cannot afford the stat reduction.

i_swampert.gif

Marsh (Swampert) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 Def
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Roar

This thing is a BEAST at taking physical hits. Not only does it serve as my physical wall, but it serves as a stealth rocker, and a phazer. I try to bring this thing in early so I can set up Stealth rock early, and use this later on to phaze out stat increasers.

i_jirachi.gif

Star (Jirachi) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 80 HP/252 Atk/176 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Iron Head
- Fire Punch
- Ice Punch
- Thunderpunch

My revenge killer. I usually use this against sweepers. It can kill lucario, salamence, gyarados, scizor, you name it (bar a few sweepers such as heatran and infernape). He gets the job done efficiently, preventing the opponent from sweeping me.

i_rotomu_heat.gif

Toaster (Rotom-H) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/188 Spd/68 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Overheat
- Shadow Ball
- Will-O-Wisp

Rotom serves as my Spin Blocker, Explosion/Fake Out absorber, Fighting, Normal, and Ground Type attack absorber, and can wall and kill various threats. Will-O-Wisp Cripples physical attackers, and the moves provide a way to kill threats. This thing works wonders, it is usually a staple pokemon on my teams.

Well, that's pretty much my team. Feel free to criticize what changes I need to make my team much more effective. Thanks for viewing :)

The team looks pretty good but I don't see why you are running both Choice Scarf Jirachi and Choice Scarf Rotom-H, there really isn't a reason to have both on the same team. One of the two should definitely drop their Choice Scarf and since Jirachi can outspeed +1 Gyarados just like Rotom, while still being able to take care of Dragon Dance Salamence, I think Jirachi should be the one to keep the Scarf. This team really looks like it is trying to set up a Swords Dance Scizor sweep and one thing SD Scizor loves to do is set up on Pokemon locked in on Dark type attacks and the number 2 pokemon out there right now, Tyranitar, has a Choice Scarf most of the time. Since Rotom draws in Tyranitar on ladder and locks it into Crunch or Pursuit while burning it I think you would really like a bulkier Rotom set. The set I have in mind is,

Rotom-H@Leftovers
Timid Nature
EVs: 252 HP/ 68 SpA/ 188 Speed
-Will-O-Wisp
-Thunderbolt
-Shadow Ball
-Overheat

So this Rotom might look a little bit weird but let me explain what's going on with it. With a Timid Nature and 188 Speed EVs you are guaranteed to outspeed Adamant Lucario, who I noticed gives your team a bit of trouble and easily sets up on Choice Band Tyranitar, and OHKO it, without Stealth Rock, with Overheat which will also hit other Steel types like Scizor and Metagross. WoW will cripple physical attackers like Tyranitar and Scizor while Thunderbolt will hit Bulky Waters that can give Scizor a bit of trouble. Shadow Ball is chosen to hit other Ghost types but it can be replaced with something like Rest or Pain Split if you want to give your Rotom the ability to heal itself.

Wow, I never actually thought of it like that. I'll test out that rotom, and if it works better than choice scarf rotom, I'll change it around. Thanks.

I would suggest changing up your Dragonite just a little bit. Firstly, I would suggest you run 24spe at the expense of attack, to outrun pretty much all lead Metagross. Secondly, I would use Superpower over EQ. This lets you OHKO Shuca Heatran and lead Tyranitar (who would normally beat you.) Superpower is also fantastic for wallbreaking later in the game; it is a standard on MixNite, allowing you to beat Blissey with ease. Fire Blast ought to be sufficient to deal with Metagross and Jirachi.

Good luck.

As a user of choice band tyranitar even with the popularity of the scarfed version I have a couple small nitpicks that will make it better.

Use Payback over Crunch. It gives a 25% boost in power against anything faster and most things in ou are. You can also get pp stalled by a roosting zapdos unless you get the defense drop, while payback gurantees you can beat it one on one.

I did see a set of Payback/Pursuit/Aqua Tail/Fire Punch and it seems to hit everything harder. With Fire Punch, you can get the speed evs and run max hp because skarmory cant roost stall it. I thought it was a bit weird to not have stone edge but this set doesn't lose any kos and gets more against walls like skarmory, hippowdon and forretress. Breloom also had a free switch but is now ohkod by fire punch.

Good luck hope I helped!

I am just wondering why you are using the Ubers SD Scizor, the only special attacks that Scizor will take from a good player will be fire attacks where those EVs will go to waste when they could be in Attack and Speed increasing you chances of a sweep.

I'll change that up, and see what happens.

Could anyone reading this check out my rmt :Isthis any good? And reply.

I'll try out your suggestions, and see what works better, my current CB tyranitar, or your improvements.

I'm pretty sure that the scizor I'm currently using, isn't the Ubers SD set (at least currently), I saw this scizor in LR's "Siren Song" Team, and thought I would use it. It apparently is made to combat special attackers easier, but w/e, I'll see what works best, then make changes.
