AND THERE THEY ARE!
I've recently started laddering again, after my long timeout after my drop from #7 on the OU leaderboards. This is the team I'm CURRENTLY using for ladder matches and testing. Leave any comments, suggestions, challenges, and CONSTRUCTIVE criticisms in your replies. Thank you and good day, lawl.
TIME TO CHECK THEM OUT
Suicide lead Antidactyl @ Focus Sash
Stone Edge
Earthquake
Ice Fang
Stealth Rock
Jolly; 4 HP EV's, 252 Atk, 252 Speed
Purpose-This set really explains itself. Set up Stealth Rock and sweep for as long you can until Aero goes bye bye. As you may as noticed, Taunt is replaced on this set by Ice Fang, due to the fact that nowadays people will simply TBolt an Aero on the first turn, knowing usually that Aero will normally taunt. The fact that Taunt is becoming more and more predictable limits the effectiveness of the aforementioned Taunt set.
Specially based MixApe Life Orb Sweeper
Vacuum Wave
Flamethrower
Close Combat
Grass Knot
Timid; 64 Atk EV's, 192 Speed, 252 SpA
Purpose-Mixape, one of the best sweepers in OU, easily fits into my team. With support coming from four other members on my team, MixApe is truly a force to be reckoned with. One of the 3 pokemon on my team weak to Water-type moves, Infernape does come with its drawbacks, but its worth it. Vacuum Wave makes it into the set over Nasty Plot because of the fact that as soon as you use Nasty Plot, Infernape likely goes bye-bye to a super-effective attack.
Trap Passer Umbreon @ Leftovers
Baton Pass
Mean Look
Protect
Wish
Careful; 252 HP EV's, 4 Speed, 252 SpD
Purpose-The person who came up with trap passer Umbreon is second to only the guy who made cupcakes, Stallbreaker Gliscor, and Chuck Norris. Umbreon's defensive stats allow it to more than last the 3 to 4 turns it'll need to set up, hitting opponents with Mean Look, before Baton Passing to a counter. Umbreon is really good for setting up Gyarados, as long as my opponent doesn't have Thunderbolt.
Support Starmie @ Leftovers(To be replaced, considering Vaporeon, Breloom, Machamp, Lucario)
Rapid Spin
Surf
Ice Beam
Recover
Timid; 136 HP EV's, 156 Def, 216 Speed
Purpose-Starmie is one of the best OU spinners, along with Forretress. Unlike Forretress, Starmie has the stats built for a sweeper. Outspeeding every non-scarfed dragon pokemon there is, other than Rain Dance Kingdra, Starmie is able to OHKO Flygon, MixNite, and MixMence after Stealth Rock damage has taken its toll. Starmie has been part of the core of my team for a while now, replacing the Kingdra on the team I used to get to #7 on the OU leaderboards.
Gyarados @ Leftovers
Dragon Dance
Earthquake
Waterfall
Stone Edge
Naive; 72 HP EV's, 252 Atk, 184 Speed
Purpose-Gyarados is one of the most dynamic sweepers, and is part of my team's main defence against a +1 Salamence. Gyarados' stats and movepool allow it to sweep like a broom.
Stallbreaker Gliscor @ Leftovers
Taunt
Toxic
Earthquake
Roost
Jolly; 252 HP, 40 Def, 216 Speed
Purpose-This standard Gliscor set is as to Blissey and other walls as a sledgehammer is to well.......walls. Being able to take out any wall, you name it, even the Great Wall of Blissey, while able to wall itself, Gliscor earns its spot on my team. Taunt to break a walls' method of recovery(Blissey's Softboiled) and a cleric's mode of helping out its team(Blissey's Aromatherapy). Toxic smokes them out from behind those monster defenses, while you can Roost as its needed. EQ offers a STAB, Torment however, is a also a viable option.
Annoying Pokemon:
Gyarados-One Dragon Dance boost, and Gyarados is a moving Lamborghini without a driver. Unpredictable, explosive, and EXTREMELY volatile, this sea serpent makes all true Dragon-types run in fear. Holy hell.
Salamence-Despite several changes to my team, a boosted +1 Mence still keeps its status as a threat against my team. When Aero beats another lead, I usually return it to send it out against a Salamence. Outspeeding a +1 Salamence, and having the ability to Taunt is an added perk that comes with the Aerodactyl package. Not to mention the fact that Stone Edge/Rock Slide is usually an OHKO, always an OHKO when Stealth Rock is set up.
